I play a Magic the Gathering Online Legacy league with Comet, Stellar Pup Jeskai Control, a SCG 10K winning deck from Marshall Arthurs and league sponsored by Patreon subscriber A Pile of Shirts. Unfinity's Comet is FINALLY on Magic Online and I'm diving right in! Marshall has been telling me for months that Comet is great, and he won the Cincinnati SCG 10K to back up that claim. I'm here to see it in action for myself. This deck is a Staff of the Storyteller and Shark Typhoon "SharkStill" style shell where the core of the plan is to empty the battlefield and make way for Comet to cook. He's the goodest boy! MTG

@@DeWillpower I think its during match 1. The joke is about karakas, which can be tapped to bounce a legendary creature, when your opponent destroys it with wasteland, you can "float" 1 mana by tapping it first, the joke is that you float the ability to bounce a legendary creature before karakas is destroyed in the same way, despite this not being how magic works.

I had someone use 20 minutes of clock to “rage quit” once. Passing phase once every 5 minutes to not get kicked, this was Vintage Cube even lol

I almost rolled my eyes at your 13:57 comment "I love hitting land drops and not doing anything else; it's among the best magic there is." But then I remembered a few days ago I literally named Dismal Backwater as one of my favorite magic cards. I cannot deny it, I am precisely the guy you described.

Round 2 is why I run basic mountain in my StoneForth list. Being able to cast the spell that wins the game out of nowhere with basics is very powerful because it effectively blanks Wasteland.

I was the pioneer seat on Marshall's team for the 20k and as soon as I saw Comet got added to MTGO, i got really hopeful that Brian might play it through a league, as I knew it was a deck right up his alley. So glad to see it finally getting played. As always, love your content, watch pretty much every upload the day they come out!

Comet is goodest boy. I pulled a galaxy foil comet with a swirl right on the helmet and I LOVE it. Comet as a card is always fun to resolve as well. Cool to see he's strong enough for legacy lol.

I once had MTGO crash on me in response to trying to concede to the opponent casting a game-winning spell, and since I was running it in VMWare on an old Mac by the time I got it running again I had *just* timed out. I was mortified, and tried to apologize in chat but the opponent was already gone; I always think of that when someone seems to ragequit like your opponent in this league, even though that's probably 5% or fewer of cases. I did take the lesson and get a computer that can run MTGO, at least.

I think Comet might be worth playing as a 1 of in a 1-3 split. Forth is usually better as a single turn finisher, but Comet is great at grinding with targeted removal and drawless card advantage. Comet is probably better than four mana forth, but forth quickly overtakes in most situations with that extra mana.

So why is comet legal? I thought unfinity stuff was only legal in commander or something. How many other unfinity cards are legacy legal? Some of them really break game mechanics so i couldnt see them being allowed

Any card in Unfinity that truly breaks the normal rules has an acorn stamp in the bottom center. Anything without an acorn is legal. There’s a bunch of cards like Comet that are weird, but work fine in the rules.

The problem with Barbarian Class is that it doesn’t let you choose a lower number. One of Comet’s strengths is that he makes 2 bodies on an uptick, like he’s Elspeth or something. But that’s only on a 1 or 2, which means a Barbarian class rolling a 2 and a 4 is usually worse.
