Any election board that has election deniers on the board should immediately lose their certification as an election board. Election deniers have been proven wrong in over 60 court cases where they were unable to provide evidence of the widespread voter fraud and Democratic vote count cheating they claimed. Election deniers are partisan extremists, and are not qualified and are unfit to serve on an election board that requires non-partisan neutrality. We cannot have election manipulation BY the very election boards that are supposed to PROTECT us from this very activity!
There should not be any alterations made during an election year by any candidate or political party. This should include redistricting or the strategic removal of ballot drop boxes, or the removal or closure of polling places. And no disregarding of votes without a court order with accompanying signed and dated paper trail.. The Republican party is megaphoning exactly how they're planning to defraud Democratic and Independent voters. Terrorizing voters should be a federal offense with a mandatory prison sentence, and the permanent and unappealable loss of voting rights in every state, city, and county; encompassing every election for life. An official caught cheating or trying to cheat should be automatically disqualified from running for or holding any political, federal, city, county, or state office for life.

Exactly. California is one of the largest economies in the world and they need resources to stay on top. Wyoming has resources, but their 3 electoral votes completely nullifies California's 54 votes, so Wyoming totally dominates national politics. Okay, maybe not "totally dominates," but the Electoral College means they have to be considered. They have some political pull, however minor. We can't just turn them into an internal colony and strip their resources for California's benefit, as the terrible people in Wyoming deserve for not being "our sort of people". Might makes right, and larger states should have the unbridled power to exploit and strip smaller states without concern for their rights. We can do that if we eliminate the Electoral College. And we can still gerrymander to our heart's content, since gerrymandering only affects state politics, and the party drawing the maps still wants their team to have an unfair advantage in House elections.
You are 100 percent correct. Once there was a very good reason for the Electoral College. People were not as educated as they are now (sometimes I wonder), news travels within minutes and the country is much more developed.

I wouldn't take it for granted that Raffensperger will stand up as a "hero" again this year. He's a republican and he was a reluctant "hero" in '20. The difference now is that he's had four years of threats and "friends" telling him to do the "right thing" and be rewarded for it. Can we trust that he's been able to withstand that much pressure for this long? I think we need to be working harder to assure voting integrity across the country.

As of August 26, 2024, the population of the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, which includes Los Angeles County, is 20.6 million. There are only four STATES that have a larger population than this one city. If the Electoral College is removed LA would have more votes than most STATES.
If the state wants to pull a partisan stunt to not certify a portion of the votes, the entire state’s votes should be tossed out. I’m tired of these asshats.
Idea: Any state NOT certifying by the cut off date WILL lose their States electoral votes, and those votes will be eliminated from the total count needed. Ex: Georgia has 16 Electoral votes. They fail to certify on time. So instead of 270 EC votes, you reduce that number by 16, or 254 EC votes to win.

The electoral college was created in the 1700s when most people couldn't even read, and it took weeks to get to Washington. It's the 2000s, something needs to change so that every persons vote actually counts.

Well, the GOPsters on SCOTUS made that essentially impossible by gutting the Voting Rights Act (and had the chuzpe to argue that its renewal by near unanimous consent in Congress proved that it was no a free and voluntary but a coerced vote and that SCOTUS thus had to intervene).

In 2020 the Department of state brought in 2 international organizations to monitor swing state elections. The European Union elections intrety unit and the OAS whose members are basically most of North, South America and the Caribbean. Both reported no significant issues to which DT promptly dismissed the reports. OAS criticized Texas for reducing the number of ballot drop boxes.

Well if it's monitored. It should be one Democrat and one Republican. The candidate should not know who the board members are that has nothing to do with his role of running. He's already playing the victim instead of running an election. He's already talking about a problem with the votes before the election is even here. So this should send up red flags to the courts and should be used as evidence and should those three people be the one to delay it. This should definitely be used in court. Let them keep talking. The Secretary of State, the Governor, the AG's office, the courts.....they're doing it at the hyper local city level...but in order to exact real changes it has to get through the state level and the highest court at the state level and then to federal jurisdiction...so nobody's worried about it succeeding.
