Cheesy? That Chevy intro is what allows the show to be produced. Chevy could be spending their marketing money 100 other ways but they have been gracious enough to support this music scene. I dont think there is anything cheesy about that!
Amazing my love for The Gourds started with the search for the artist singing the country version of Gin and Juice. Promenade, Valentine, Burn the Honeysuckle, Jones oh Jones, this song.... all awesome.
Ah had't cut down sum trees in 'ma driveway. Rented a chainsaw 'an cut 'em shits down to the wires. Neighbors thought I's on drugs. Nahp. Just liquor & dope.
I love Kevin, very talented, charismatic and prolific, but can't discount the amazing contributions Jimmy, Max and Claude made to the Gourds. In my mind the most underrated/underappreciated band in my lifetime. I will say this though, when the band hit the "make or break" point with their last album or two, I think Jimmy's songwriting had slipped a bit from earlier days. But you just can't have GourdsLove without 'All The Labor', 'Plaid Coat', 'Maria', 'LGO' and countless other great songs the man wrote.Shipfaced Johnson
I would give my right arm to see these guys live. Ive been in love with the Gourds for the last 10 years and still have not heard all of their entire catalog of music. They are incredibly talented and just fun to listen to.
Larry, booked these guys in East Tennessee years ago and we had people show up from 7 states so pretty sure they don't need days jobs. I love these guys and the fitting end of covid would be the Gourds saying they're getting back together and touring the states for the next 10 years
