"The Grand Budapest Hotel" recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars; and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting; a raging battle for an enormous family fortune; a desperate chase on motorcycles, trains, sleds, and skis; and the sweetest confection of a love affair -- all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.
*Director Wes Anderson will be present for an extended Q&A following the screening.

I haven't seen any of Wes Anderson's films but he is very nice looking and reminds me of a librarian in an evening basement discussion group while on holiday in the United States where I thought the guard might have been instructed to kill me. I have long been too depressed to watch a film or it is something about the nature of films themselves if one is depressed - for example by age - although I used to enjoy films, especially European films, although Munich was one of the last films I remember seeing and enjoying and I appreciate that greater skill that may go into making the American films.

Watching films and learning film making has been one of the only things helping me out of depression. Definitely recommend watching his films they are unlike anything else

Linklater wasn’t the best moderator I thought. He wouldn’t complete his thoughts a lot of the time and just kind of ended his statements with “I don’t know...” a lot. He also didn’t kick to Jason or especially Randy very much to let them talk. It seemed like it was just a conversation between him and Wes for the most part. Don’t get me wrong, I love hearing Wes talk, but I think everyone on a panel should at least get a few moments to talk throughout, otherwise why are they there?

Does anyone know why Jason was even there? He has less screen time than the cakes in this film.

The King of Understatement (Linklater) meets the King of Anticlimax (Anderson) . Texas should be proud for giving the world two massively talented and original directors. I hope there won't be trouble if that Mexican fellow wins instead. I can't comment on Texan films and filmmakers without mentioning "Hud" which some younger viewers will not have seen. Maybe the U of T has a copy on film in their archive.

Was this right after a screening? Linklater seemed a little flustered at the start there.

Great interview with everyone, but the audio just sucked. I could barely hear everyone evenly.

Not a fan of this moderator. He would ask a question and then begin to answer it for them!

I'd love to see Wes Anderson do a movie with no rich people. Wealth seems to be glorified a bit in his movies. He is the best thing since Cotton Candy though!

poverty isn't pretty, his movies are pretty, plenty other directors who do what you're after, wes does what wes does
@youareallfeckinboring

but he sort of collapses the “glorification” of the seemingly perfect lives of those rich people and reveal how miserable, lonely, empty and vain they are...just like anybody else. get pass through the dollhouse and you will see how rotten it is inside. i love how he presents that.
