Very helpful review, Thanks! We are going there in July and this is pretty much what we were already expecting. Resorts typically gouge you for everything but this does seem extreme. Great to have it confirmed.
Thanks Eric, I'm glad you found it helpful and informative. You should def still have a good time b/c the pools, and beaches are so beautiful. Don't forget to try that turkey club 😂
I was there in October of last year and water park was free if you were staying at the Baja Mar. I bought a Bahamas t shirt from the beach venders. Not Baja Mar but only $15.
I completely disagree with this review! The resort is beautiful. The service is top notch, the restaurants are world class, all of which are reflected in the cost of this resort. The casino is clean, the water park is clean and well kept, admission is free for resort guests. This is not a budget resort or all inclusive. I will also say, the room you stayed in is the EAST tower. The west tower rooms are much more spacious, better layouts, and same amenities. When you book you can select your room.
That is 100% ok if you disagree bc this review is just my opinion. I'm glad that you enjoy this resort bc that is the most important part of going on vacation. Thank you for the info on the west tower. I do agree with you that the pools and beaches were unbelievably beautiful and I very much enjoyed them. I appreciate this is not a budget resort or an all inclusive resort I just don't feel the need to spend these prices for this experience but that is just my opinion. Thanks for your comment and happy travels.
You're difficult to please and too cheap. Life is too short to complain about unimportant things. I visited last year and loved it. Iwill be returning this fall. 🇺🇲❤🇧🇸
Life is definitely short I agree. I don't believe I'm hard to please but I'm 100% ok if you believe that. If I find value in what I'm paying for I have no issue with the higher prices. You found value and that is amazing, I'm so glad that you had a good time. That is all that really matters. The beaches were epic there for sure. Safe travels.
Other than how expensive everything is, I couldn’t disagree with you more about this resort. Regarding the high prices for the food, you’re eating at “real” restaurants that exist outside of the resort in places like New York i.e. Cleo. You’re not going to get the same quality food, generally speaking, at all inclusive resorts. Still highly priced, but at least somewhat justified. I’m going back for the third time in August. Water Park is free for guests and they offer complimentary sunscreen (or at least they used to). It’s a beautiful resort and everything is clean and fresh since it’s fairly new. I haven’t been to Atlantis, but judging by the videos I have seen, it is very tacky and dated.
Love your insight and really appreciate that you love this place. I 100% agree with you on the resort layout, landscaping, pools, and beaches being beautiful. I wasn't a huge fan of the room layout but not a killer for me. I understand your points on the restaurants which I'm ok paying higher prices for good food but things like red bull and sunscreen were even outrageous which is just robbery. The resort def has its perks it is def #2 on my list of the most beautiful water I have experienced. Ha e an awesome time and I have heard the same about the Atlantis.
I agree. Daniel Bolud has Michelin star restaurants in Dubai and NYC. Marcus Samuelson is an award winning celebrity chef from NYC. There is a reason the restaurants are expensive. The quality of the food is top notch.
Thank you so much George for watching and the wonderful comment. I'm sure you will have a terrific time just take that cash, and get that turkey club, Safe Travels.
“Misinformation” I recommend viewers watch other videos reviewing this hotel as The Water park is “Free” to guests staying at the hotel. The fee quoted of $95.00 is for “Residents” of the Island and there is a separate fee for non-residents who are not staying at the hotel.
Also, You featured a “Juliet” balcony in this video which is a half size balcony intended to sightsee. Full balconies which are for relaxation come with furniture.
What about food from those food trailers around the pools & beach areas? Were they expensive also? We're going next month for work-related, so I surely appreciate your review, as i thought that "all inclusive" meant the food would be provided also.
This isn't an all inclusive resort. I'm pretty sure the resorts in and around Nassau aren't all inclusive but I could be wrong. I didn't try the food at the food trucks sorry, we had some meals covered bc of it being a work function.
Just here to say the Sandals Royal Bahamian right down the road from BahaMar is where u want to go to mitigate against all of the cons you mention. I’ll never go anywhere different.
I don't have a good feel for this but from what I gathered most of the Bahamas is pretty expensive. This place is def cheaper than the Atlantis but IMO still expensive
Nada I know they had a nightclub but that isn't my scene so I didn't go and I'm not sure if there was an additional cost. They did have a carnival the one day in the large open area in the middle of the pool areas. Everything at the carnival was free for the kids which was cool. I didn't see any evening performances by the pools but there might have been karaoke in some of the restaurants but I didn't get a chance to go to many places b/c our food was covered by the work function I was at.
😂 Well this is a first. I still have a pretty good head of hair but I have loved wearing hats most of my life. I like to style them up with what I'm wearing. Great question though, hilarious.
Thank you and it was around $40 which is still a bit salty but better than some of the other food. Make sure to get a fresh pie bc the pieces left under the heat lamp can get quite stale.
@@detailedtraveler yeah Mexico is the king of ai but you get tired of going there well atleast I am so Bahamas was in the list of next trips but it seems the excessive pricing and mediocre food maybe not worth it. At that point you might as well Goto Turks
@@no9254me Yea I haven't been to Turks yet. We are heading to Jamaica this summer and we went to the DR a couple of falls ago, which was a 7 out of 10. I did a three-part review of the Hilton we stayed at in the DR. The beaches there were unreal that is for sure.
Not all inclusives have subpar food. I thought the food here was fine, what I was able to get. I don't think a resort this large should not have reservations for over five days. That seems crazy to me.
Thank you for saving me from going to this hotel. Was thinking about booking it with my World of Hyatt points, but judging by how much everything else at the resort costs, its a complete scam. I will not be supporting business blatantly price gouging.
@@detailedtraveler Looking at your videos, its quite sad to see such a nice resort and location wasted away with such high prices. Your videos are great! Username checks out. I have a stay booked at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun later this year, and that is how I found your channel. Seems like that is a much better experience. Looks like the beach there is also good, while having as good food too.
