The Grand Mosque of Rome, Italy Tour | 4K 

Never knew of this Mosque in ROME. Will love to visit sometime insha allah.

I met the imam, during my visit in 2017. Weekdays we only pray at the small musallah within the mosque compleks. But we were lucky with Allah blessing to have private tour with the imam.

Alhamdulillah, I visited the Rome National Mosque while exploring Rome - it is a beautiful mosque but many Muslims don't know this mosque exists. I must admit that I took the taxi ride to get here and then back to Central Rome. A lot of European cities have big masjids but Athens does not have a single masjid sadly. Been to masjids in Barcelona, Madrid, Malta, Seville and Lisbon. Rome is my favourite city in Europe along with Seville, Lisbon and Barcelona but I loved Athens even though no official masjid there. I m very glad to see the mosque in Rome,but I didn't visit I just had the sight now moreover I don't know how people there come to and amongst the European culture,does European also come there,but it's fantastic to see mosque amidst European culture

In 1974, the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, King Faisal bin Abdulaziz, visited Italy and convinced its government to establish a mosque for Muslims. The Italian government donated a plot of land with an area of 20,000 square meters, and Saudi Arabia covered 70% of its construction costs, and the Kingdom of Morocco contributed to its construction costs as well. It was opened in 1416 AH Where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was represented at the time of the opening by King Salman bin Abdulaziz..

WalaikumAssalam.. I visited the masjid with my daughters on 5th May 2019.. i was very disappointed that during the week there were more door men than worshipper.. The Muathen also led the prayers as the imam was away i was told.. So it was me and the three door men as congregation zhur prayer.. i asked the Mazzen why such huge Masjid not built in Rome where many Muslims are. His response most of Rome is Vatican holy site so the Rome council gave them this land wher the masjid the masjid is. As you can see it is friday there is pribably no more than fifty to a hundered, where as the cellars (underground) Musallah Which are peppered around central Rome were full. Most are founded and ran by our beloved Bangaladashi brothers...
