This was one of my uncles favorite songs. When we had a celebration of life in his honor I did a funny bit to lighten up the mood a bit “🎼 Now I remember very well the day ole Eddy died, the women folk looked sorry but the men stood ‘round and cried. Now Eddies up on a mantle and he sets there all alone, they put a pipe beside him and a tire for a stone🎼”. He was a plumber who was once a mechanic.
I started to reply that this song was popularized by a bluegrass band from The Andy Griffith Show named The Dillards. They're quite good and a REAL bluegrass band. I used to have their CD simply called "The Dillards". Of course "Dooley" was on it!

I can tell what the words are! When the "Darling boys" on the "Andy Griffith Show" do it I can't tell half of the words compared to this. Big thumbs up guys!
I really love this song, I should make clear ; and the tune is no doubt older; a well done job here all round! Please keep up the good work, from a Swamp Yankee*, true and proud! *poor country folk in New England -- we exist!
He's fakin on that fiddle cause this is in... I think B. Very nicely done besides, and I'm not takin' him down for it. He's good, but B is a BUTT on that fiddle.
@@bbb8997 I don't have any. That doesn't invalidate anything I said.... Like, it's not even an appropriate turn around because I wasn't claiming to do or be better or even tearing the man down... So I don't really know where you're going with this non-sequitor, because even though attacking me, which this is, is a common distraction technique, it doesn't fit because right now we're talking about you, NOT HIM. You went sideways on your redirect. You want a mulligan so you can try again?
