So glad this project was finished and hope there are more titles Johne plays on the channel.
honestly, even three years after this game was released in english, i still tear up at that final sequence with "dr wilson" fading into iris. god, from start to finish, THIS GAME IS A MASTERPIECE. this is shu takumi at his peak: already having created this iconic series of courtroom adventure games, he didnt have to figure out what "ace attorney" IS anymore, but instead what it CAN BE. the result is near flawless-all characters, game mechanics, pacing, and scenarios have been perfected to a T. we're lucky to have been with you on this long journey, johne (how fitting that the LP ended when it did: apparently august 3rd, 2024 marks the 7th anniversary of TGAA2's initial release in japan!)

I love how every mystery throughout both games coalesced in this final case. The story being set in Britain made it an immersive experience. This was so peak

Crazy how many foreshadows and connections the game makes: - Susato and Iris were right. They were almost sisters - Why Klint agreed to the duel makes sense since he was being coerced by Mael. Genshin showing up was likely a relief to have a way out - Makes sense his wife being out of the picture because she knew what was going on and tried to make the birth of a child a secret, so probably she didn't have proper medical care - Although Iris and Klint aren't very similar, both share a reddish and yellow color motif - The final scene of a Daruma with both eyes, means a wish was fulfilled :) . You draw an eye to make the wish and then the second when it's realized.
And Jigoku's comment about sending a telegram over to Britain if you get a game over on the first trial of the original Great Ace Attorney hits differently too, because the first time - you just think "Send a telegram? I guess he's trying to keep things civil", then when you revisit that trial after completing TGAA2, you realise that he's actually referring to the plan to get Asa Shinn to successfully kill Dr Wilson and not get caught being a success
There's also a somewhat hidden interaction when you're in van Zieks office When you examine Klints portrait, Iris has a line talking about how she thinks Klint is really handsome and even says he looks better than Barok, and it's really just the sweetest thing after you find out the truth
Standing👏 ovation👏 for👏 Johne👏 Can we just appreciate Johne's acting abilities for a minute? This wasn't just any playthrough--it was a masterful performance. His range of voices has always been pro-level, but it's gotten even better over time. He seems to get the vibe of a character down after only seeing them for a split second. And there were so many characters in this series! He managed to come up with unique voices for every one of them! I don't know how he managed to keep them all straight! It was easy for me to forget that only one person was playing all these characters at times. Some of his voices are absolute canon for me now. If they ever make an anime of this game, I'd honestly be happy with Johne playing every male voice (but the female ones were great too!) 😅 Johne, if you read this, I really appreciate how immersed you get into the Ace Attorney games. Your authenticity and wholesomeness make these videos unbelievably fun, and your passion is contagious. And your ad-libbing made me literally laugh out loud soooo many times. Thanks for allowing us to experience these games all over again in a new way. They really are some of the best in the world. I hope you keep playing the Ace Attorney series! 🙏❤️
I personally think TGAA Duo is the best Ace Attorney game. Everything coming together in the end into the most satisfying ending I could think of with such an amazing cast of characters. I got so attached to the main cast that I really want another game but I feel like that would ruin the amazing story of the duology, so I'm just happy with the conclusion. Killing off Gregson was such a ballsy fucking move, but I can't think of anyone else that would fit the criteria of "character that has enough impact to care about their death, but not too much to devastate, just enough to make the case heavy and important." Thank you for playing this through the end, Johne. I finished the game 3 years ago, but you uploading the rest of the series resurfaced just how much I love this game.
GG's Johnny, I hope you truly enjoyed the beauty of this wonderful finale. My honest favorite part was the callback to Godot's breakdown before Stronghart's REAL breakdown which lead to that beautiful scene of victory when Sholme's Hologram pulled up.
i just heard a voice from above saying "the video's out" and HERE WE ARE LETSGOOOOO -- This game is hands down one of the most well-written stories I've had the pleasure of experiencing in a while, if ever. The amount of love put into crafting each detail and reference really is tangible. What particularly amazed me is how well the devs managed to flesh out each and every character - love them or hate them, I think they'll all be staying rent free in my head for a while. And this in no small part would be thanks to you Johne - I don't think I would have enjoyed them half as much if it weren't for the voices you gave them and the commentary you had for them. You did such an amazing job! I'm forever grateful you decided to finish this project. It was well worth the wait. Alas, I am not good with words so I shall spare everyone the essay, but allow me to make a closing statement: Lord Barok Van Zieks and Dr. Courtney Sithe are both very, very hot 🥵🥵🥵
thanks for playing this to the end it's been a great experience watching it from start to finish, following your gameplay hearing your voices you gave the characters they all fit so wonderful my fav is still kazuma and Barok Van Ziek's oh those voices were so wonderful hope you will play the other ace attorney games too even if they are not as popular they are still good, well hope you at least enjoyed this adventure of The Great Ace Attorney it has had such a great influence on me your gameplay from when I first found your video and heard your voices for kazuma and ryunosuke that I knew this would be a great adventure I wanted to see to the end and it was not a disappointing so thank you for all this and hope we see you in the next ace attorney game

Unfortunate what happened to Jigoku. He seemed chill. Crazy how Genshin Asogi knew not to trust him, tho. I guess they're close friends, but even Mikotoba didn't see it. big sad. I wonder who's gonna be japan's new judge in this game. I hope they make a 3rd game that takes place a bunch of years later.

We really need a ace attorney game that has a detective as the main protagonist, Gina would make a great protagonist plus Paris would make for some beautiful scenery in the game

I wasn't a huge fan of the original trilogy, but these ended up being some of my favorite games in general. I don't think they necessarily got easier in terms of technical difficulty. They just got better at conveying information clearly and had far, far fewer moments of complete BS nonsense. I'd like another GAA. The end left it open for more, and there's plenty they could do with Sholmes in Japan.
I cant believe how good this game is, even having played it myself. Shit man, im gonna miss it. Again. I cant wait for the next one you'll play, although i know this one's my favorite, every game is amazing.

HUH?! 10:50 The biggest character growth is Johne FINALLY pronouncing "Barok" correctly. 19:12 *[MAJOR Spoilers]* WAIT, WHAT THE FUCK?! So...uh..., Iris is a van Ziek? With Barok being her uncle? Man, I seriously didn't think that would be the case. It's geniunely out of left-field for me, but I guess Barok now has some way of being linked to his brother---through her daughter and his niece. This is incredibly wholesome, don't misunderstand me but I seriously wonder now if it was hinted at in the first game or even in the first few chapters of this game. Man...that's an incredible twist, one I DID NOT see coming at all. I didn't even think of the possibility of Klint's wife being pregnant, or why Iris's past remains to be untold even now. Obviously because Klint wouldn't want his kin to know who's offspring they were, and what that entails for them. Iris was rid of that fate, and lived in bliss as a result of it. 31:10 I wonder if they're gonna make us choose it. That would be interesting. 40:00 They didn't, eh...? Makes sense, I'm not opposed to it, but damn Naruhodo didn't even need longer hours to think about it. He did get his resolve now I guess, so makes sense. 46:40 Dude...he is a true gigachad... 55:39 Well...she said it! Man, I would seriously appreciate if she does end up following through with Naruhodo. I won't comment on whether it'll be romantically or not, but these two definitely are a duo. And so Ryunosuke Naruhodo opened the door of salvation for Brok Van Zieks when Van Zieks was walking towards the door of damnation by convicting Genshin Asogi 10 years ago of being the infamous killer the (professor) and being racist against Japanese when he averted his eyes to the fact that genshin’s ring was forged evidence and would have made a lot of cuts and scratches in Klint’s stomach and esophagus but even Klint’s autopsy report acknowledged there were no such wounds in those organs but now Ryunosuke Naruhodo made that fact known so he opened the path of atonement for Barok to acknowledge that mistake and make up for it, he also saved the British judiciary from being taken over by Mael Stronghart and saved the Anglo-Saxon and Japanese treaty of commerce and navigation. So Ryunosuke Naruhodo likely not only saved Barok’s life from the gallows but also his soul from hell in a way by opening Barok's eyes to the truth and opening the door to acknowledging he (barok) was wrong to overlook the falsified evidence and convict Genshin of being the professor when he never was the professor and opening the road to repentence for Barok. And to think 100 years or more later in the future in the present day that Phoenix Wright would inherit Ryunosuke Naruhodo’s defense lawyer skills. Ryunosuke Naruhodo really is the GREAT ACE ATTORNEY in the series as he is the very first chronologically to think his things may have been inherited by other great defense lawyers. Ryunosuke Naruhodo set the precedence of being a Great Ace Attorrney. Also JohneAwesome will you be doing Ace Attorney Investigations 1 and 2 this semptember. Or October since investigations 2 prosecutors gambit is finally being localized here in America or whatever country you live in when it was in Japan for more than 13 years?
