it makes me so happy to see you teaching jackson how to be gentle with bandit!!! it drives me crazy when parents let their kids sit on, hit, and grab the dog! then the wonder why the dog is getting mad/being aggressive! thank you for teaching jackson that it’s not okay to grab bandit💕💕💕
We're teaching baby to be gentle with the dogs, and vice versa (is. Sometimes baby isn't into her enthusiastic kisses). And now that baby is mobile, we'll praise the dogs if they decide they're not into him right now and just remove themselves from the room, that's their prerogative. And also warning the baby, "they don't want your loving right now, bud."
Awe I totally understand the favorite version of Jackson. My favorite version of my little boy Jaxon is when he wakes up in the morning or after his nap. He is so full of smiles, joy and a sort of shy excitement. Melts my heart every time. These moments are what make motherhood so precious.
Hey, it's a good idea to put some vinegar in the water mat, and then fill with water. This keeps it from growing bacteria! Just a helpful tip! Thank you guys for all you do!!! I wish I could tell you how much it means to me!
Hey Jen, Mom of 4 grown kiddos here. When I had my first baby we had a very good pediatrician who knew his stuff and with the neck rash from drooling he recommended not to put anything on it and all you do is after his bath each night lay him on his tummy and then use the cool option on your blow-dryer to completely dry his neck. It works!
Something that helped me with the drool rash for my daughter was using cloth bibs. The smaller triangle ones were best once she was mobile. I did have to change them often so she was not sitting with a damp bib all the time
Totally get a favorite version of your child. I love when my daughter first wakes up in the morning and I go in to get her. She always smiles so big and just coos at me. ❤
Having pets around small children is so important because it teaches them how to be gentle and kind early on. I work at a childrens petting zoo and its always obvious which kids have learned kindness to animals from being around pets.
I agree with Meredith’s comment below. So nice to have your vlogs every day to bring. They are so lovely to watch and we really appreciate the time you take to make them. Plus really love seeing little Jackson. He’s a ray of sunshine ☀️
I think Jackson is going to love the camera when he gets older. He is always smiling so sweetly for it. He is too adorable. When he was touching Bandit it reminded me of when our girls were babies and how patient our dogs had to be with grabbing baby fingers lol.
With as much as he loves cameras and looking outside I predict that Jackson will be a wildlife film maker or cinematographer. Jenn, thank you for being such a great example on being gentle with Bandit, not that I had any doubt you would. Children that are raised with pets and pet care have been shown to be more compassionate and creative.💫🌟💫
I think a good rule of thumb is the size of the plant head should determine the size of the pot or plot. The roots want to be as big as the top. I think I heard that somewhere.
JENN!!! I HATE TO SEE YOU BEAT YOURSELF UP WANTING BACKGROUNDS TO BE PERFECT. GIVE YOURSELF SO MUCH GRACE. YOU ARE KIND. YOU BRING PEOPLE JOY AND PUT POSITIVITY OUT INTO THE WORLD. YOUR HUSBAND ADORES YOU. YOU'RE A GREAT MOM. YOUR VIDEO IS GOING TO BE SUPER RAD. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, SUPERWOMAN!
You might want to transplant the mint as well, the roots can take over. My daughter had that same rash and we made sure we cleaned it daily with a warm clothe, dried it and put powder on it.
Yes mint will take over anything they’re planted in. they should remove the mint and put it in it’s own pot. Yes they could cut the roots but for a beginner that would be pretty hard to figure out.
My favorite "baby" from when my son was well a baby haha was when he was in his high chair eating and the little concentrating expression he had when he was eating with his hands and squishing whatever could be squished haha. He used to purse out his little lips and pick the food up so carefully and examine it before he ate it or threw it down to the dog haha. That ice cream looked amazing! Jenn I am looking forward to watching your video on your channel❤️. I hope you are doing great! Sending love to you all xoxo
My favorite version of my kids are when they were about 5 or 6 years old and they experience something for the first time. Like the first time they went to Disneyland and the excitement on their faces was the best. My kids are much older now 21 and 17 but still love those times when they were smaller.
I did think Jenns makeup looked super especially pretty before she explained she was filming her video. So excited to see it! I didn’t get to finish the podcast before this video came out, so much content!
Thanks for sharing the news about Universal's CityWalk! Your dinner looks so yummy! And Jackson is so adorable - his cute little baby noises at the end of the video super adorable!
I totally understand what you mean about your filming area, Jenn! I often procrastinate certain tasks because I don’t want to do them until it’s done to perfection. 😅 Awww, Jacksons’s sneaky side eye is my fave. 😍 Miss you all!
Oh my oldest had the MOST chunk, she always had a neck rash. We used aquaphor and it helped so much because it acted as kind of a barrier while also healing it. We really love the Tommee Tippee bibs that have the little drool catcher on the neck haha He's getting so big! These babies grow so quickly, parenting is so bittersweet.
To your versions of your kids question - mine are teenagers and each age has pluses and minuses. It’s fun having deep, intelligent questions with them now. It’s deeply gratifying when they like the same music you like! 🙂
I love basil! I grow it in a large pot on my deck and I can make about 5 batches of pesto in the course of a summer. It freezes well and it brings back thoughts of summer in the middle of winter.
Another great vlog. A good tip for the drool neck is to use a barrier like Vaseline. I sent you an Instagram pic of my daughter and I at 2 months, we had the same problem. This will stop the drool from sinking in and we used it in the leg folds too..xx
Hi Tim and Jenn! When my daughter was a baby and was teething I used to put a "drool bib" around her neck..it would save her clothes and would save her neck from getting a rash. It's bib but much smaller..was a big help.
I also just got an ice crem maker!!! What we have been doing is instead of using chips, I've been putting in chocolate shavings. Easy to do, just use a vegtable peeler on a bar of chocolate! Ours took a couple tries for our ice cream to freeze completly in the machine, but it was so good once we got it down!
If you put a really soft terry cotton bib on Jackson it should soak up the dribble and stop it being sore ..also I used sudocrem on my daughter ( you should be able to get it at Walmart there or amazon) it took the redness away within a day 💕Iove seeing you teaching Jackson how to be gentle with his furry brother it’s so important and lots of parents forget and can cause issues later ...you are both doing an amazing job raising Jackson xx
Basil plant loves to be pruned. I learned my 1st lesson when I let it go without pruning in 85+ degree weather, it grew flowers. Once it flowers, the leaves can become a little bitter.
My daughter had the same issue when she around 6-9 months old, our pediatrician gave us some nystatin powder which helps to dry it out. But they also said the more tummy time we did the less she would have the rash.... now all is well.
I have favourite versions of my cats! (Closest thing I have to kids) My one cat Jeffrey is cutest in the mornings because he is so cuddly and loves to lay in bed and snuggle. My favourite version of Pepper is when he is in the kitchen with me trying to get my attention and get snacks and he rolls over on his back with his paws up and looks at me with his cutest face!!
Uh oh! And Jackson’s throwing stage begins! Have fun buddy! Blessing to the three of you! Great to see y’all everyday, it really helps with the daily quarantine days!
To your question Jen about what you said about the best parts of jackson is when he wakes up. Well mine is when babies and toddlers have a bath and their hair is all wet and when they are wrapped in a towel with the ones with the hoodie on them all looking so fresh.
My youngest daughter was 9lbs 3oz when she was born and she had that issue too under her chin area. I can't recall what I did, because she is 19 years old. Probably the same thing by putting diaper cream on it to dry it up. She excessively drooled too at like 4/5 months of age. Every part of their lives I loved especially once they get passed the newborn stage. They grow so fast. Enjoy every stage of his life. There's no such thing as "spoiling" him. He is well loved and taken care of. I enjoy watching your past videos and new videos. What kind of ice cream maker did you use in recent video? Thank you for sharing your life with us viewers.
I grow herbs at home. If you transplant the mint into a nice size pot,it will come back every year. Your basil pot was a bit small so you might want to transplant again down the road. Jackson is adorable so big,so gentle with bandit. Stay well!
Holy Basil, Batman! That's crazy. To make pulling the ice cream out a little easier, submerge the bowl in warm water. It'll soften the outside and make it easier to get out.
Oh my Jackson is just the cutest, that beautiful smile and giggle is just what I need right now, it really helps take my mind off from worrying about my husband, whose a key worker. Stay safe and well, much love from Liverpool xx
If you pinch off the top of the basil, it will grow more branches on the sides and become bushier and won't just shoot straight up. It loves the sun! Your mint will come back year after year if planted in the ground, but will also spread like crazy
It almost sounded like Jackson said bandit! That would be the best first word! Like nah not Mum or dad! Brother bandit! Hehe! Also can’t wait for Jenns return on her channel!
Mint roots need room to spread horizontally. I have mine in a 16 inch wide and 8 inch deep pot. They like partial sun in Florida. You do need to trim the mint for it to flourish. I just pinch off a stem to put into my ice water every morning daily and it keeps the mint in great condition. It doesn’t like extremely hot weather growing conditions in my years of Florida experience but the mint always comes back well in the Winter to Spring. Hope this helps. 😊❤️💫
I had that freeze bowl too. I just let the last of the ice cream in it melt and poured it into the frozen stuff I scooped out and it froze up again .. no waste. I quickly moved up to a Cuisinart Ice 100 though. Multiple batches without re-freezing a bowl for 24 hours. Game changer!
The basil needs a much bigger pot, it will grow like crazy with more room. Also, maybe put the mint in a good sized pot, it grows fast, too. And I’d sit them outside. Also, clean baby’s neck folds, and direct cool air from blow dryer to completely dry it. He can also wear a soft bib to catch the drool. 😊
Thank you so much for tagging the rompers because the wondersuits are so expensive and the kids tales one look so identical, glad you got to Jacksons prints. Also you need to do another baby item video with the items you guys have for Jackson.
I just thinking out loud , But I think your Cucumber Seeds may of been old . Like you I found out the same way , My Daughter and I planted them to make Pickles and they never grew . So we looked at the package and they were almost 5 years old .WE TRIED ... Try it again with Brand New Seeds and make sure you get the PICKLE Ones ..
Hey you guys, with Jackson's rash, try brewing some black tea (one bag with just a little bit of hot water) and dab it on the rash with a cotton pad. Plus some diaper rash cream. There's something in the tea (enzymes?) that clear the rash up. 😊 Love u guys
Get large pots for your basil, tomatoes, etc. They need more room and more dirt and the tomatoes, which are like vines, will need support. Remember what you learned at Living With The Land?
I think two tomato plants is plenty, I have an areogarden myself, and they recommend that you leave one empty space by each tomato plant, they just end up growing so much, and having so much fruit it'll be more chaotic than the monster basil XD
I would also remove the mint. Mint is invasive and in my aero garden it made too much roots and was taking a lot of root space leaving less space for the other plants. Mint is sturdy and can be repot easily.
Keep a bib on to help keep the slobber away from his neck. My mom has paladin at her house. You can get it on amazon. It’s works great for slobber rashes.
Jackson really needs a walker, he would have so much fun in it and it would make his legs stronger. That icecream looks so good and I don't even like icecream. Jackson is so cute. Love all you Trackers♥️
I know what you mean about your favorite times with your kids.. when they were little guys, I loved when they first woke up. They’d be all sleepy eyes and sweet ☺️
Wonderful people!! Outside are bugs which will destroy your herbs! Mint can get fungus on the leaves, if kept in a humid envirement... (like a kitchen)
Anxiously awaiting Jen’s video! I’m so excited. I watch a LOT of beauty youtuber and I think the setup is FINE, it doesn’t need to be a whole production! Really excited for skincare, but ALSO an eyebrow tutorial because Jenn’s eyebrows always look great.
I recommend melting your chocolate and whipping it into your mixture really quickly. I have a large electric maker and my kids love it like that. Pecans are good added to it too.
