The video intends to cover the history of Great Eastern from the very beginning alongside the history of India, trying to put in perspective the journey of Great Eastern and the men behind its success. The video covers roughly the last hundred years - from pre independence India, through the various wars and upheavals in the world, to the company’s growth in an independent India to the company as we see it today.
Each time the market gave an opportunity the company successfully stepped up to the challenge- in a business which is highly cyclical and capital intensive with no guarantee of success, this is truly and achievement.
The video speaks of the true core values of the company right from recognizing opportunity to buying quality assets at the right time - a constant quest to improve and do better than yesterday.
The purpose of the video would be achieved if it serves as a reminder of where we come from and not take for granted at any time the company’s success and learn from its failures.
