Stranded: Alien Dawn continues and we celebrate the great indoors by building some more rooms! In a shocking display of efficiency our survivors manage to build some more stone foundation, two entire rooms complete with windows and flooring, and a roof! We have our work room and our storage room! Hurrah!
Thanks to the recent update to the game which gives us the option to have multiple floors, we plan an 'upstairs' to the new rooms, with the idea being to have some more storage up there and also a nice balcony where we could put some shooty guns!
Our defences are once again put to the test with another couple of attacks and we're surprised to see a very brave beetle attacking our walls instead of going through the defence corridor! The sneaky so-and-so.
Also we unlock delivery drones, there's a rather troublesome heatwave and we welcome another dog to the crew!

MODULAR BASE-BUILDING

Regarding food, it's a good idea to have two stoves close together with different priority lists. Firstly, the cook prepares the food and then it takes a little while to actually cook, so the cook wanders off and then has to come back from wherever they are to prep the next, but with a second cooking station they will switch back and forth, cooking constantly. Secondly, different priority lists will increase the diet variety which makes your survivors happier.

You should get the bench press. It's a recreation item that also increase their physics, wich again allow them to carry more.

Those delivery drones are awsome, even just 1 can speed up your camp signifficantly. They move around quick and work 24/7. And yes they fly indoors.

Idea for upstairs. Doggie bed rooms. They can be converted into human bed rooms if you find more survivors. As for all the ships crashing. I always assumed that the cruise ship you escaped from exploded in orbit, and the debris is just bits of it crashing down.

You should try the explore expeditions aswell, they can give you helpful boosts. You're gonna get a choice that looks a bit scary, but I just kep going head first into everything lol. Once I got to max out a skill for the guy going out, another time it gave a +100 health boost. Myself I've never had anything bad happen, but I can't guarantee it never will.

You should put motion sensors in each of the outer cornes of your corridor, also to cover for flying enemies you're gonna need a couple inside the base aswell.

Another great episode. I confused myself as didn't realise I was 2 episodes behind. So started watching the one after this. As penge started saying about all the building work.I was like hang on think I missed something. 😂 Now watched this episode and can't believe how fast it got built. Also puppy or puppies might arrive soon. Exciting times.

You can place a Day/Night sensor and turn off lights during the days and get your power consumption down a bit. Although mostly useful on the Floodlights outside. But can also turn off Soldering bench, electronic stove during the nights.

You need more grain cob crops. You have significantly increased your drain on grain and reduced your field size slightly beforehand. Add a second stove with a different priority list. When you made Annette's cooking priority a two, it significantly reduced the amount of food you are able to store. Also, you have a freezer for finished food, so you should be stocking up on those. Increase the cook until number so you always have a supply and variety. One of your lightning rods still is not connected to the system. Is Buddy also being trained? On the expeditions, you have not once clicked on the explore option. Very curious as to what that does. You need to rework some of the priorities of your survivors. Not everyone should be doing everything. Also, remember you could specialize one person to do only a few tasks. Can you build roads to increase your movement speed when outdoors? The shooting target practice-make it. It is Ember's favorite leisure activity. You should just plant some trees right outside your base. It literally takes less than a day to plant, but wood would always be available very close by. Tools! You also may want to consider upgrading your outer walls from wood to stone.

Good grief, that is a MIGHTY list of things! I'll try my best but I can't guarantee I'll remember all of that! Oh, the 'explore' button on the expeditions just brings up other things to go and investigate in the balloon but we have plenty of sites of interest anyway so we haven't needed to do that.

After you do the second floor and the roof for second floor you should take apart the other roof and make it one full one. So then you only have 2 roofs and looks more realistic if that makes any sense haha

In order for the attacking creatures to come in to the trap corridor it needs to be 3 whole blocks wide (not including the half blocks you get when building) or only the smaller creatures will come in that way. The larger ones will attack anywhere if they can't fit down the trap corridor

11:58 Randomly they will attack the wall instead of the open gap, to prevent tha you can place a sirene or bait to draw them in. Also that wall should be lower, nobody got a shot at that scarabe.

With regards to the dog food.. take a close look at the types .. raw red meat gives a 10% chance of poisoning, Inset meat 50% chance.. use dried Red meat or slop...

I didn't even notice there was a poisoning chance! I think we just gave them insect meat to eat a lot of the time. There were a few illnesses but not enough to cause us any issues.

I think there's the electric research table and also the soldering table, they're both powered benches. Not sure we have a powered normal crafting table though!

animal pathing goes to nearest person and from time to time they just decide to attack any old fence. There is also animal traps you can lay down to hinder their progress,

They try the fastest way to get to the person that shot them from time to time. try half walls so you can shoot down from the tower but only in the entrence.

You'd only need one open square to get up. You can have a door leading to it to keep the A/C inside.

It's a sensible idea but I have checked and it makes no difference which way the solar panels are facing. I think we're down on power because there's not much wind.

I thought I'd replied to this but RU-vid tells me I haven't! I've checked and the solar panels can just point wherever, they pick up the same power no matter which way round they're facing.
