The Great Migration - KQED QUEST 

The bird migration is way down since I was a child. I would love to volunteer and join this project, because I am deeply concerned with this problem. I remember when I first saw the migration around five years old I cried from fear, because the migration blocked out the sun and the entire sky making it a natural eclipse. Looking back I think of it as a blessing and worry that I will never see it again.

I'm from New Zealand and often been wandering whether birds, in this case Canada geese lose their navigational skill as it were. These birds have become very common, perhaps as has been mentioned that there is a decline in migratory birds, could this be a reasonable answer being hatched in New Zealand?

it would be interesting to see how the Japanese nuclear fallout on the Pacific Ocean & fish, how it is affecting the Pacific migratory birds..... might tell us how bad the ocean is....

We called these birds as Russian Ducks or Siberia. These birds yearly come to our land, Rakhine State, Western Myanmar in the start of winter. They come in the morning then return in evening. We don't know where they sleep at night. In the early morning, they come to us across Bangladesh. The season when they come is the end of rainy season and the start of winter. At the time, many paddy fields in our country have been ripe and shallow water in the paddy fields is very convenient for those birds to hunt fish and other water creatures. We often joke people, don't catch and kill these birds. They are the guests of Europe to our home.
