Wow....Firstly Laura a massive well done you smashed it! You showed yourself and others that hard things and challenges are there to done. That emotion you speak of at the end of the race.....I got it just watching this. Incredible!! For me it brings back so many memories of times I've done exactly the same. Secondly ....What an epic way to tell the story Andy and the Journey, very inspiring and captured the whole event and experience. Thirdly ..... That rain was absolutely crazy...haha!! Amazing Laura! This was my first half and GNR too, Left the flat at 8:30 and didn't get back til 8:30. Was on my feet that whole time! Still absolutely loved the experience. Congratulations !

So happy for you! I ran this years gnr and can relate so much to what you've said in this video. The heat was overwhelming for pretty much everyone and those last 3 miles were so rough for me being my first half marathon lol. I relate to your story and I too cried like a baby at the finish line. I think that people who have never ran that far before won't understand how hard its is and how relieving it is. Well done Laura and Andy!!! This is so brilliant and really well made! Well done both of you. It do reminds me of my first ever half marathon last summer. I hit 14km and then told someone that was the furthest I’d ever run. I felt great! Shortly after, the wheels fell off 😂😂

Fantastic. Well done Laura. I genuinely believe that is one of the most difficult half marathons you could have attempted as your first because of all the waiting around in the heat at the start. 2 years ago we were given a time to join our wave on Town Moor and were quickly heading to the start with no hanging around, this year was awful. I've really enjoyed this series (kudos on the top quality production Andy) and really hope you're going to keep going - you have a half marathon PB to beat now!

Congratulations, this year was my first GNR and half marathon and I have felt all the training challenges you have. However we have do it this year. Well done

Superb work, Laura! Feeling niggles early on that turn into pain is never a good time. Combine that with the vast distance ahead and the mental challenge can seem insurmountable. But you did it, battling the lows and owning the highs. Maguires truly do love a sprint finish! Jaz and I have loved watching this series and we’re excited to hear what’s next - whenever you’re ready, of course! Thanks for the video. I’ve not seen the Great North Run’s scale captured this well. It truly is a massive event!

That sun was brutal. I was in no shade what so ever and felt absolutely sick when i started after 1hr 10 mins. Felt dreadful going over tyne bridge. Luckily i picked up as i had a load of salt tabs and gel with me

Well done but u need to do a lot more running training I have done half marathon without stopping but it's really tough and hard work but I hve had loads of training runs u also need a really professional pair of running trainers
