I live in Japan, and a couple of weeks ago I actually found the CD that had Jaggy Love on it. The rest of the album is nowhere near as good, I'm sorry to say. D'secrets scattered to D'wind

It has amazing games in all genres. Guardian heroes and Saturn Bomberman are excellent multiplayer games. Shining Force 3, Dragon Force, and Panzer Dragoon Saga are amazing RPGs etc.

Thank you very much, Man. I grew up reading the Official Saturn mag and Edge magazine and I used to love the design of both. Everything looked so cool. I'm very much emulating that style, but in video form obviously, with a little twist of my own. I try and make these games look and feel as cool and fresh as they felt to me back in those days. I instantly knew it before I watched this bc I constantly listen to the 1 hour loop video of the music.

The official UK mag gave it 91% though! In my opinion Kids was a game made for the Japanese market that just happened to also get released overseas I think. Chibi stuff is always popular over there and they were trying to introduce new audiences to the series. Also, Virtua Fighter was selling like hot cakes in Japan and they were squeezing more money out of the I.P - they had a whole range of plush toys etc to release alongside it. It makes little sense to many of us in the west, but it does from a Japanese perspective, and taken purely on its own merits it's a great game. 20% faster than VF2, great remixes of the original tunes, a fun art style (in my opinion), new gameplay mechanics, FMV endings for the characters etc etc.

I remember it scored well, but with the caveat that only huge VF fans should buy it. I could never get on with the short reach of the characters, maybe I'd have liked it more if they'd added something like powerups, as in Pocket Fighter or Power Stone. Good point regarding Japan, Sega could have released a turd with the VF logo on it and it would have sold there. It was released in Japan with a Java Tea tie-in, for goodness sake! 😄

I'm almost certain the fighter at the end of the select screen was store-brand Tank Abbott.

Thanks very much Man. K-1 is the only one I probably would have put into the list out of those 3. The others are stretching the concept too far for me. There was also Victory Boxing/King of Boxing that probably should have gone in too but I decided against it as it has an unusual camera perspective and kind of felt more like a sports title (but then I did feature a wrestling game, so...) K-1 wouldn't have cracked my top 10. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed it.

The King of Boxing is also missing but over all, he did a really good job because i was sure that "Zero Divide TFC" and "Elan Doree" will not be in the video but they are.

@@iPlaySEGA First Criticom, then Expect no Mercy, then Iron & Blood: Warriors of Ravenloft, and now the SNES port of Pit Fighter? There's a lot more poorly-polished fighting games out there.

There is nothing cover honestly, is just generic fighting attended to attact audience with “favorable” interest. Each character has small limited, and duplicated at times, set of moves, some with a cheaply made hadoken, imagine imagineer trying get street fighter players lool.

The story is basically each fighter trying gain role of being next top star, hence the ending for each character take places within a musical concert. For content difference in between ports, saturn would offer voice takes of the female voice actresses, none for the males. Funny enough, the some actresses didn’t no credit into the game as in their media lookup, no reference of the game within the list of voice projects they partaken in. Dare to say, this took worst death than bubsy since it failed to maintain interest for sells, each installments, presentation wise, were lacking of uniqueness, and didn’t properly understand the market they were going for.

Dead or Alive looked way better and was "interlace bug" free.

I don't agree, sorry. They mentioned the lower polygon counts and loss of 3D backgrounds etc plenty in the UK Saturn magazine but concluded that it was a great port regardless. The Saturn was vastly inferior hardware to the Sega Model 2 - they cost around 15,000 dollars per unit after all, yet Sega managed to deliver a relatively detailed 3D game running at 60fps in a high resolution on a £250 home console, which was basically unheard of in those days. Most importantly, the gameplay is basically a perfect match too.
