in six years fifty thousand people watched this video and only 20 of them commented about it. The majority, it seems, has chosen to remain silent

Imagine any future president giving a speech like that. Praising one predecessor from the opposing party, refusing to throw another under the bus, and pointing out the right of those who disagree with him to do so. We may never see that again.

Nixon was a very complex and complicated man. His humanity has been overshadowed by his reputation. He was not unlike most of the people of our country. I believe Mr. Nixon may have been the most “human “ of Presidents.

If any administration today have the sophistication of that of Nixon, I can't imagine how much the world could be better.

Too bad Nixon made the wrong move in Watergate. The Nixon Administration performed brilliantly in a difficult foreign policy era: China, the 1973 Suez War, and not abandoning Vietnam. We owe our freedom to those who have fought or died in our wars. I still think we would have cut the carnage if we’d carried the war to Hanoi from the start. Bombing and police actions kill a lot of people without deciding the issue.

A great speech and a very well spoken man. Taking accountability and giving credit to those who are on the opposite party may never happen again. I wish Nixon were alive to vite for today. Our choices for the oast few elections have been dismal.

One of our great men. Unfortunately, he became a casualty of a bitter domestic war. This is the man who ended the draft, ended the war and made America’s position in the world stronger, effectively putting us and democracy on the trajectory of winning the Cold War against communism.

Nixon's options were limited thanks to Johnson, Kennedy and smelly hippies ......Obama should listen to this speech...he presents no timetable for withdrawal which would only help the enemy ....a great speech

"No reason, no future!" That concluded his speech in this video, and prophesized the lack of future that befall to not only america, but the whole world.

"The Greatest Honor History can bestow is the title of Peacemaker" People forget Nixon said that in his first inaguration. In a way I can't help but feel sorry for Nixon, his paranioa is what doomed his presidency and shaped his legacy.

Who were the Great Silent Majority? The Great Silent Majority were people (many of them Democrats) who were fed up with the turmoil of the 60's and chose to support President Nixon. In the 80's the Silent Majority became Reagan Democrats and in this day and age The Great Silent Majority seems to be making a return.
