'A 30-mile long route running between Callander in the east and Inversnaid at Loch Lomond in the west, taking in scenery, loch shores, hill slopes, mature woodlands, wildlife and history.'
Today we set off on a long weekend to hike the Great Trossachs Path.
We get the trail from Glasgow to Tarbet and then catch the ferry over to Inversnaid where the trail begins.
Climbing up initially, we eventually reach the top which offers great views over Loch Lomond and the munros beyond.
Hiking on along the trail we walk through Glen Arklet along Loch Arklet before coming to Loch Katrine.
Walking along the path we come across many information boards with insightful historical information. Very interesting indeed!
Eventually we stumble across an area to camp that is too good to pass up. Wildcamping for the night, we get a good nights rest for our longer walk tomorrow to Callander.
