Here it is. This is the greatest example of ABA you're going to find! This is what ABA does for our nonverbal autistic daughter to prepare her for a more independent life. These life skills she has learned through intense ABA therapy may never have been learned otherwise. This is also a fantastic example of how important parent training is for ABA therapists. When Abbie was looking where to put the container in the fridge, back and forth between the item and the fridge, really thinking about it, that's what I love to see. Abbie for sure thought there was going to be water in that cup, Asa "C'mon, tilt your head up" Abbie pauses and staps back slightly *yeah, right, I'm not new here, I know your crafty pranking ways* she tilts her head back after looking in the cup to make sure it is empty...still shuts her eyes just in case. It is always great to see the progress Abbie is making and Brandy does an amazing job.

I have watched all of your autism vlogs and I wanted to say thank you with a little message. Hello Maass family, my name is Ellise Higgs and I am a high school student from Michigan. I found your videos on Facebook and decided to watch more of them on RU-vid. I’ve watched about all of your autism vlogs and hearing about Abbie’s ABA therapist and therapy has inspired me to want to become one and help other students and children like Abbie. One of my high school classes is Elementary Education that helps to get students ready who want to work with kids in the future and I work with some students in kindergarten who are on the autism spectrum and being able to work with them has helped me even more in deciding to pursue a career in applied behavioral analysis. I want to thank you and your wonderful family for opening my eyes to the wonderful gift that is autism and what a loving family can do for someone with autism. Thank you for your inspiration!

I care for 4 grown lower functioning men and I learn so many great tips from watching ABA with Abby. The thing is trying to get other co-workers to all be on the same page and be consistent. I will joke with the guys and tell them I'm not your grandma, you can do it. Just have to remember that small delay to process when requesting them to help. This is by far has been my best learning channel. 💕

Honestly it seems like Abbie tries so hard with her groceries! It really warms my heart to see her looking at one of the groceries in her hand and standing in front of the fridge trying to figure out where she should put it. That’s awesome! I totally get what you mean when you say we’re “watching her think through it” -so cool!

When I was in high school over a decade ago, we had a school for autism next door to the high school. It was, at the time, the only one of it's kind in southeast Michigan. I would see school buses picking up kids from there from cities id never even heard of and ones that were 3-4 hours away. The school was technically part of our cities school system (apparently it opened in 1973 which is crazy) so I don't know if it was considered a private school but it was literally burger(pronounced bur-jer not bur-gur) school for autism so it wasn't a traditional public school. I don't think parents had to pay to send their child there but I could be wrong. Anyway I always found it interesting that schools from that far away we're busing the students back and forth 3 hours each way. I just remember that our city was very proud of having that school.

That was an awesome video! I will most likely never have a need to know ABA therapy but I really enjoy watching it and seeing how it works. Thumbs up for Brandy and her efforts to teach both Abbie and her parents. Thumbs up for Abbie for doing a such a great job with the mock bathing. And thumbs up for Asa and Priscilla for being such amazing parents and Isaiah for being an amazing brother/son.

I am so proud of Abbie! She is doing so well! I am speechless about the toast. That's awesome! First time I have ever seen her eat something other than cinnamon toast crunch for breakfast. This is amazing! Great video! She did awesome with the bath too. I had an awful time trying to get my daughter to wash her hair. Even to this day she does not do a great job, but she does well enough to get by. The idea here is not to be perfect.

great job Ab! I work at a autism intervention centre as a intervention behaviour technician while I’m a student in university. I want to become ABA therapist eventually. I see ABA therapy work in a clinical setting every single day but seeing put into practice and work at home is awesome!

I got my roadID at the beginning of this weeks, and I love the clasp snap thing. With the option to changing the band color when the band gets older and such. The personalized note that the person that works on the info part of the band was a nice little comforting touch. Without the videos you talk about Abbie’s roadID band I wouldn’t have found a great ID medical band. It’s easy to put on but not easy enough to take off so I don’t have to worry about it falling off as easy as some brands I’ve tried. When it wears out then there’s option to change out the bands. In love! Thanks! I’ve watched your channel for so long... I’m on the spectrum myself with other health complications for medical professionals to know the emergency tips before taking care of me within a emergency situations. Thank you for spreading awareness and educating the world for the autism community and siblings with asd along with the parent perspective.

It is so nice to see a mock of how well Abbie is doing. So many things everyday things that we do and take for granted. Everyday life skills are so important. I wish schools would help teach more everyday skills, rather than concentrating of things that don't matter. I get that math is important, but do we really need to read a novel and write a report about it. I just think something's are more important.

So...parents of typical children only get questioned when their child regularly goes to school with a stench....while parents of special needs children literally get watched while they assist their child in bathing and then get graded which then gets reported to insurance companies....hmmm... Great video Asa! I'm glad that her other carers/therapists/teachers/etc are allowing you to record their awesome work and share it with us! It's really a great resource to sooo many people, being able to get such a great look at services and things that are available.

OK I need to start taking my child’s picture every day. It just Dawned on me he also has autism and goes to an ABA program and in case of an emergency I need to remember what he was wearing that day in case he decides to take off. I have a little guy who is not in school and he also is Also special needs. This is great I think I need to do this every day thanks for the idea
