As an Ohio State fan that happens to live on the boarder of Michigan, "The Big House" (AKA Michigan football stadium) is HUGE. I have been there 2x. That the biggest rivalry, only to michiganders and ohioans. The rest of the country could care less, we have our own "biggest" rivalry. The greatest rivalry in this country is Army v Navy, always has been and always will be. Just because you think you fought a war in which neither side could get their musket balls across the river does not make it the "biggest" rivalry. And comparing the size of stadiums is like another size comparison competition single-celled organism like to partake in.

I've always found it super intriguing how good it feels to have a large crowd of people just sing a song or chant a team slogan together. whether it's sports stadiums, the crowd favorite "sing along" at a concert, or a large church singing hymns they all give such a feeling of unity.

What's incredible is that unlike in Europe where you have football hooliganism and sometimes rioting, at US sporting events there is rarely any fighting or violence other than perhaps a couple of drunk individuals in the stands. Widespread fighting is practically unheard of. People go to show their pride and have fun.

Everyone's jumping, and the whole stadium shakes. TV commentators have said that even the press box shakes. Buttercup plays during a commercial break, usually in the second half. Not only is everyone singing, but when the song stops playing over the speakers (after the break is over and the game resumes) everyone still sings. On Wisconsin!

The Portland Timbers (major league soccer) does have passionate fans, but the Seattle Sounders, their main rivals do too, Portland’s stadium holds 25,000. Seattle plays at Lumen Field which can hold 68,741 fans, which was the number of fans present when they beat Pumas UNAM for the CONCACAF Champions League crown. I’m really glad they showed our Boom-Boom-Clap vs their PTGC Chant. They filmed that at Lumen Field from near the opposing team’s seating section so you could hear their PTFC chant better. A normal match usually sees about 40,000. and they have a March to the Match pregame tradition from the headquarters offices to the stadium that has to be seen to be appreciated. The Sounders share Lumen Field with the Seattle Seahawks, which has some of the loudest fans in the NFL, they held the Guinness Book record until the Kansas City Chiefs beat them by a few decibels. That’s the equivalent to standing next to a jet plane taking off.

Same with Virginia Tech, it is a technical college ( strictly engineering or other specific courses in mining or oceanography ) A University is usually a much bigger college. Yes, MD is the University for Maryland. Most of the ones in this video were college teams.

Virginia Tech is not a "technical college" but the largest university in the Commonwealth of Virginia with nearly 40,000 students. It's official name is Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State UNIVERSITY with nationally ranked programs in numerous fields of study. It recently added a college of medicine.

At the beginning of this video I thought, they HAVE to show the University of Oklahoma’s Boomer Sooner chant. I’ve experienced it a few times and my ears rang for the rest of the day afterwards. Our NBA team here in Oklahoma gained the nickname “Loud City” for OKC. We get a little rowdy when it comes to our sports teams over here. It’s definitely an experience of a lifetime getting to attend a game like any of these. I hope you will have the chance to do so someday!

Nothing beats the tribal fever of United States College sports. Every state has one or two major public universities and there are also several private schools with major sports programs. Several universities have stadiums that seat as many or more people as live in the town. College game day is huge.

Hee Hee! Caroline is a girl's name! A Gamecock is a rooster bred and trained for cockfighting - which is illegal.
@Dak36

The Gamecocks became mascot because of nickname given SC general by a British general in the American Revolution. It was a compliment to how hard his opponent fought. The activity,like dog fighting, has been illegal for a long time but the fighting gamecocks were known to fight furiously. Very inhumane.

I think California has 20 million (not really but it seems that way). Within 1 hour of me, we have CA State University, Sacramento, U of C Davis, U of C Berkeley, Pacific College/stockton, UC Merced, UC San Francisco, UC Santa Cruz. I have to admit, the only two that I know of that goes to this extreme is Berkeley and U of Southern CA (USC).

I understand your appreciation for the profiles of these iconic cars, yet it is how one FEELS whilst driving in one that is their true measure, the feeling is almost indescribable. In 1977, the first year I drove, I had a ‘68 Camaro SS convertible. Oh my, what a car. I traded it in for a Pontiac Trans Am with 455 HP, 4 speed manual transmission-which looked exactly like the white with blue wings in the video. I’m from NY, yet lived in VA to attend high school. Any car over 25 years old and is still operational is deemed antique and nears ‘special’ tags. I think this adds to the sales price, yet these cars can still be had-especially if you can do body work! Please know that almost all of these cars are still being manufactured, including the Ford Mustang! I could write about this for ages. Most important thing to say is that I LOVE your videos, and subscribed during the first one. With love from the capital city of Virginia, please come visit!!!

College football provides so much passion that many continue to support their team way, way after they graduate. Most for life. The rivalries are epic and the fight songs as well. Everyone knows the fight songs as soon as they start. ND, Michigan's, etc...❤

I wish it was mentioned that Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, where crowds broke the record to come in at 142.2 decibels has the Guinness world record… Allen Fieldhouse, which seats 16,300 fans, once held a Guinness World Record for the loudest crowd roar at an indoor sports event when the Jayhawks faced the West Virginia Mountaineers in a conference rivalry matchup in 2017.

Hello Andre. If you ever get the chance to visit the States, I highly recommend you attend a Saturday college game, tailgate party or a typical sports bar Sheer enjoyment. I'd be happy to stand by you as we both sing the national anthem.
@kat021171
@kat021171 3 месяца назад
I was at a Columbus Blue Jackets hockey game around 2014 or 2015 where the anthem singer's mic malfunctioned, so the crowd just sang in his place. It was magical, to be honest, even though we usually sing along. When we play teams based in Canada, we sing the version of the Canadian anthem sung at their home games; French (Montreal), bilingual (Ottawa), and English (Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver). At the local football (soccer) team's matches, the big anthem the supporters sing is "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You". We were the MLS champions for 2023, and have started 2024 with a win and a draw. We also have a fair bit of notoriety here for being a lucky ground for the US Men's team when playing Mexico. And then we have the Ohio State Buckeyes. You've seen the stadium in the video on college football stadiums. The atmosphere is very similar to what you see with the other colleges in this video, though each school has their traditions. The big one at Ohio State is "Hang On Sloopy", which is an old pop song from the mid-1960s that was recorded by a band from western Ohio. The fans also chant the bass line from "Seven Nation Army", but that's common at a number of schools. Sports culture in the US can be very tribal, in a way. Traditions are passed on, new ones develop, but participation in them marks you as a member of the 'tribe'. It's community, connection, and it can be very magical.

9:26 FYI, the mascot of Florida State is named after a local Native American peoples called the Seminoles. They are supportive of the mascot and the chant as the university makes a point of being honorable toward the heritage and history of the tribe.

The footage of the Boston Bruins fans singing the National Anthem was a few days after the bombing of the Boston Marathon and the capture of the bombers. It was an amazing event. We all have rivalries from state to state. For instance I'm Floridian, when our Gators play Georgia, we have to play at a neutral stadium in Jacksonville. Because it got so out of hand. You should watch our UCF Knights in Orlando at the "bounce house" too. It's called the bounce house because the stadium flexes so much when it gets rowdy. We have lots of teams in Florida, 3 pro football teams, 2 NBA teams, 2 MLB teams, 2 pro hockey teams, 2 MLS teams, 3 powerhouse college teams-4 if you count UCF. We also love our Nascar at Daytona and bull riding/rodeo. We would love to have you visit Florida and enjoy our traditions.
