you’re right about the coverage of the olympics. no gaudy ads on the court, no commercial breaks every 2 minutes of play.. i’m gonna really miss it when the nba finals are covered by amazon prime in the next two years
That last three Steph hit had me hyperventilating. I was freaking out like "HOW TF DID HE DO THATTTT" but then I caught myself like ".... Am I new to this?" This man will never slow down. Seeing him and LeBron and KD have such great chemistry brought several tears to my eye. A beautiful sendoff for an era.
Hello, I'm from Mexico. Sorry about my English, but we can take away two things from these Olympics from the United States team: 1) If they played with this same intensity, the All-Star Game would be the best game of the year. 2) The NBA and European leagues are getting closer and closer." i love this channel
That’s just a lie, the national teams are getting closer, not the leagues. The best players in the Olympics all play in the nba, the US roster, Wemby, JOKIC, Luka, Giannis, etc., and no one comes close to those guys that play outside the nba. (And yeah Luka was not in the Olympics, but he played qualifiers and he is one of the best in the world) There is still a LONG, and I mean, LONG way to go for the leagues to be closer.
@@vulcanraven9701 who gives a shit? he was there in 2015 and 2016 he showed up as well despite injuries. clowns always gotta be negative for no reason.
I'm glad Team USA didn't blow out every team. I'm thankful to Serbia and France for pushing Team USA, they are worthy opponent who made this Olympics that much more memorable and iconic.
@@kerry-j4m Yup, it’s these close competitive games that people will remember for many years. People will remember Team USA’s comeback against Serbia, they will definitely remember Steph’s 4 daggers.
I'm from Spain. You are feeling what we felt in 2008 and 2012. We were great but as you said, you have to be perfect to win against the USA. You guys did a very good job and should be proud though. Serbia was the true silver medal winner in my opinion.
@@blue-phoenix115 You obviously didn't watch the game. Jokic hardly rested. The guy was out there for 38 minutes because he had to be. Joker was the safety blanket for the team the entire game and unlike pretty much every other player, on the court, he was prioritized defensively. I also love that you omitted his 11 assists to 2 turnovers, which is a crazy ratio vs such a talented USA team.
I think Booker indeed does deserve all his flowers. He was probably the most consistent player besides maybe Lebron. He played really solid defense, good decision making, great shots just good stuff all-around. Many other players already posted and talked about his contribution, him being “the glue guy” but always great to see and hope it keeps getting more appreciate it. Some of his final stats for Team USA: 1st in TS% 1st in 3% 2nd in AST 5th in PTS 3rd in OREB 4th in +/- 4th in MIN He was the guy.
Hey guys, Mateus from Brazil here. If you don't know what it is about the olympics that made you feel like that in comparison with the NBA, I can tell you: ITS THE MOTHERFUCKING WORLD COMPETING ON THAT SHIT. It happens only every 4 years and every single person on the planet can be watching and actually hooting for something that matter. Don't get me wrong, I love the NBA. But I won't be putting my emotions on the line for a team from Dallas, even though I love de Mavs.
As a non-american i was rooting against them, but i cant lie it was special to see Bron Steph and KD all play together. Probably a once-in-a-lifetime linkup and it was beautiful to watch
Im a kiwi so a kilometer is a part of the metric units of measurement, for every 1km it is 0.62 miles. A lot of the world just use different metric units e.g. You Americans would measure someone's height and say they are 6 feet I would say they are 182 cm, When weighing the mass you would say ounces I would say grams and measuring liquid volumes I believe you say quartz but I could be wrong and I say liters. I hope that helps I usually don't comment on RU-vid but I'm so high I had to rant 🤣
The one thing I don’t like about this win is that now I’m seeing all of a sudden is people saying curry goes up from 10-7 to 5-3 🤦 it makes no sense to me
it’ll be interesting to see in four years what the US team will look like now that there won’t be KD Steph or LeBron due to their age Edward’s and Tatum are who i’m thinking will be the leaders it will be interesting to see how they do
I think the reason the games were so close compared to other years is because of the talent spread out throughout other countries. In the 80’s and 90’s, if you wanted to know who the best basketball players in the world were, they were usually American. Now we have Jokic, Giannis, Shai, Wemby, and many other great talents playing for other countries, closing the gap between the U.S. and other countries.
Back then foreign players were paid as much if not more than most NBA players. They had no reason to come over. It also wasn't until the breakup of the ussr and Yugoslavia where eastern Europeans were even allowed to leave Europe. There was a reason why we needed to send NBA players to win. From 1968-1992 The US only won one non boycott gold medal.
Nobody gives Embiid enough credit for the comeback against Serbia, all the casuals were focused on Curry shooting pretty 3s they didn’t even notice that Embiid was the one who closed the gap in the 4th quarter and locked up jokic on the other end, if Embiid doesn’t outplay Jokic in the second half, US loses for sure.
I was the same as you guys having the realization that this is what the warriors fans have felt like this past decade of rooting for a guy of that caliber, just insane.
@@z0tl410 Im not a warriors fan brother, Im a okc fan and laker fan and it was tough at the time. They did have it easy though. Jerry West the goat of recruiting
This team was special bro I will never forget that Serbia game. That's probably the best basketball game I will ever watch in my life. It was just so fucking awesome
In my opinion that 2021 season where curry was without klay bad green for a good part of it was the season that gave us the curry we have now, especially after missing those playoffs, he became a “I want this and I’ll get this” type of player even more than what he was before, got his FMVP the year after with a 10/10 playoff run (not only finals), proved the year after he still got it against the kings, and this year with Olympic gold, even if he showed from the semifinals, these last 4/5 years from curry have been unreal and I love it🙌🏾
2021 Steph is the reason I watch basketball. I honestly had no clue the Warriors were on a dynasty run before that cause I payed no attention to basketball
Alright, good video guys, but let’s be clear, Joel did not come close to outplaying joker. He hit a couple shots, while joker carried his whole country.
@@rig-zag Haliburton are least is able to make fun of it, he posted a picture with his metal, and said, "When you ain't do nun on the group project and still get an A." He understands he was a cheerleader.
This team has to better than the 1992 Dream Team. Worldwide basketball is above and beyond better than it was in 1992. The iconic Dream Team had zero competition in their time. The thumbnail of the big 3 made me imagine LeBron, Steph, and KD versus Jordan, Magic, and Bird though.
I saw someone tweet that rooting for Steph at the Olympics was fun as hell, and they low-key understood why GS fans are so annoying. 😂😂And as a Warriors fan since Hardaway was drafted, all I could do was laugh.
This isn't the greatest basketball team ever assembled. This team isn't even better than the 2016 Olympic team. This was a great team that was awkwardly used. It will make a great storyline for those three as they close out their careers & lay rest to the 2010s era, but that's about as far as it goes.
Why would I root for a team that had 2 players I enjoy watching at this point. Letting embid play for the US was embarrassing, I don’t like booker, bron, Kevin, Tatum, embid or coach Kerr, that whole squad was a haters ball and I’m still pissed that Serbia couldn’t dig it out and send team USA to a bronze medal match. Would have been fun to watch the pouting
You guys ever watch the fifa World Cup that’s how it feels watching the Olympics but better compared to watching like the champions league or premier league it just hits different same as nba and Olympics when people play for there country it’s different then playing for a club team
Sadly, the NBA values offense over defense. Europeans aren’t known for defense anyway but the trash NBA rules make it so that you don’t see complete players and everyone plays defense like a Euro (nonexistent).
I have to say this: USA is not the world champions of basketball after the Olympics, they are olympic champions. Don't get me wrong, being an olympic champion is so much better, but different tournaments nonetheless. Also, please NBA, watch these games and let your players play actual defense. The defensive playing in the olympics was just beautiful.
92 Dream team greatest assembled...more players ranked higher all time. Even looking at only top 3 players, MJ, Magic, and Bird are higher than LeBron, Steph, and KD.
We do US Americans always have to take revenge in the Olympic basketball by somehow getting a wake up call from a bad loss which leds to making a all time great team 😅
KD: usa team all time scorer Curry: highest ppg in the olympics Bron: Led team in rpg, apg and fg% truly the goated trio i'm so gonna miss them when they retire
@vulcanraven9701 technically yes but I dare say kd curry and bron is a trio surpassed only by bird magic and jordan we'll probably never see players that influential in our lifetime again
The clippers front office said they did not say that that he could not play. They said that was untrue even though at first Grant Hill said that they backtracked and I forgot what Grant Hill exactly said next I think it was something like he didn’t fit in with the team right now. I watched a few things talking about how it had something to do with Nike, which definitely makes sense even though chef curry is with under armor, but at the same time, Steve Kerr , his coach and LeBron wanted him on the team plus, he’s the greatest guard ever arguably in my view he is Because if it was due to his injury, why in the hell is Kevin Durant on the team he was injured before he got back on the court there was some real iffy stuff going on here the same with the women’s basketball team Dianasours Tarasi
@@urbaindelva7869 yes, they dominated countries post cold war that had no experience playing basketball. That's like a featherweight taking on Mike Tyson.
@@urbaindelva7869no other countries literally were skilled at the game of basketball gang💀💀basketball has evolved over time and now countries are tuff asf to beat
And I think the best team we’ve ever had at the Olympics is either the redeem team or the 2012 team but they had Tyson Chandler as they’re starting center because white was hurt so I’m gonna have to say the redeem team was the best but I am bias cause my big Kobe Bryant fan
Tatum should have played more and Curry should have won MVP. Team USA loses without him becoming a menace. Y'all be forgetting about the 96' Dream Team!
They wouldn’t, they couldn’t guard curry then you have to worry about a 7 foot sniper and a literal super hero in lebron. Plus every other guy they had on the bench
