FGC in general can be pretty toxic. I've competed in a few locals and some online tournaments in Tekken and while people are generally supportive - you'll get the few that say some egregiously horrible things to you. One dude in the States, can't remember who but he got arrested for getting rejected by one of the girls that were competing - he threatened to rape her and shoot up the event that she attended. Was dumb enough to post his unhinged rant on YT before it got taken down lol

Right? I remember watching the video where when they first discovered rolling and were wondering "is this the future?, will this overtake hyper tapping"? People were doing statistics on tapping abilities and then rolling came. I love the implementation of the super kill screen. Rolling flattened the game a little with players being virtually immortal. I kind of lost interest after Eric's win in the last CTWC. There was all kind of talk about a line cap but that didn't sound too good to me. I like this solution way better and am definitely interested again as this changes the dynamic once more, rewarding good pacing but not taking away from high level acrobatics and survivability. Super stoked that I stumbled upon this video. Thanks aGameScout. (Coincidentally one of your videos got me into Classic Tetris in the first place back when Jonas won it for the last time)
@Jacev_
@Jacev_ Год назад
I noticed that Alex was doing the same thing Cheez does when it comes to the killscreen. Instead of having the traditional right well, they opted to just go with whichever column happened to have the empty well at the time. Not sure why but it seems like the optimal way to play at 29 speeds. Probably because instead of sticking to a structured playstyle - the 29 speed is probably too fast to stick to a structure so it's better to just take what the game gives you and what the board ends up with. It's a more reactionary playstyle - which again considering the speed, it's probably better to just "react" instead of trying to "think" about what's happening which can slow you down. I could be wrong though but I've seen Tetrises hit more consistently when done this way.

Only 7 months and now it’s at 157 😅

This is a modified rom of the game where the speed doubles on level 39, effectively ending it. Its not possible to get much further than 39. This is what is used in competition. Level 157 was reached in an unmodified version, where there is no speed increase past 29.

Oh man, your narration, especially the build up and the twist right before the last game, is from another planet! Really great work have you done here, aGameScout! Hat off, thumb up and everything else one does to show the greatest respect!

The story of the player that refused to play because that would reveal his identity until now sounds a lot like the story of Lilybunn, the VTuber that became a cracked player of Nick Brawl and Flash Party, but hasn't gone to a tournament yet because of being a VTuber.

Great narration!! That has to be the best competitive anything I have ever seen. Never thought I’d say that about Tetris, but the constant back and forth was just so thrilling!

Multiple clutch moments by both players, incredibly narrow win, and it just happens to be the championship game. Crazy
