To this day...the funniest thing about those 3 picks is that literally the next 3 are Barzal, Connor and Chabot, 3 top tier player that some might consider Franchise...it's so insane !
Barzal was considered a top-10 guy on draft day, and by most accounts the best player available. Why they weren't walking up to the podium to pick him as soon as #12 was announced, I do not and never will understand. Zboril was considered a reach, but not a crazy one and he was ranked about the same as Chabot. Senyshyn was a downright awful selection. No excuse for picking him over either Barzal or Connor. Also that 5th round pick Minnesota used on Kaprizov originally belonged to Boston.
The Vladar pick is actually worse because it wasn't just Adin Hill picked next. The pick after HIll was Sam Montembault who was probably the biggest tank buster on last year's Habs.
I remember watching that draft live and being astounded with the Bruins. I thought they loaded up but the picks were kind of a reach and it ended up backfiring somewhat.
My fight to this an I’m not a bruins fan at all but even if Boston hit on all 3 of those first round picks that’s not to say that barzal,Connor and chabot would develop into what they are today. There had to be a reason the bruins scouting passed on those guys and others
Lmao its not like sweeney knew those guys in the latter stages would be that good (They're all steals at that point), but for sure the first two rounds were a generational fumble.
If the bruins hit on just 2 of those picks and drafted 2 of boeser, barzal, Conner, chabot, konecney, aho, or even rozlavic, and Erickson ek they 100% would have had dynasty and with the core of rat boy, pasta, rask, mcavoy, burger, and whatever 1 or 2 play from this draft. This is a draft that will haunt the bruins forever, what could have been. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How is 2015 the greatest draft fumble .. the bruins got quite a few years outta debrusk .. debrusk was worth it .. 2 mid first round busts is not anywhere near the worst draft ever quit exgerating this plenty of teams have flopped harder
