- He's not the captain. The Haka is a traditional Maori war dance. The guy leading it is of Maori decent and has a strong background in Maori culture, hence why he is the designated leader.
Thats correct. His name is piri weepu. He is not playing this year so the next guy to lead the haka will be again, the one who has the strongest Maori bloodline/background. whether he is a new team member or existing.
The haka is sacred..when my grandfather passed away, my eldest brother and eldest male cousins from each of my grandfathers children..performed the haka from on top the hill where my grandfather was to be buried. The roar came up from the bottom of the hill and shook under each step we took..all the way up, it would move any soul present!
they guy leading the haka(piri weepu) was not the captain, but he was the Maori guy with the biggest voice(as haka is a Maori war dance. the captain was(not anymore now) number 7 in the middle of the front fow
the other team were the french they don't have a war dance, the reason this was such a momentous occasion was that it was the world cup final and the French advanced towards the haka (how didn't you see that) which is quite rare.
Sweet! Loving the rugby videos , impressed to see you guys doing one on the AB's just posted it out now. Hope to see more of these yo, few doing em but love your fun reactions, also you two in general getting more into rugby now? I know your partner she has mentioned it in a few vids yo, beautiful woman and loving how you're getting into the game! Keep it up, subscribed!
The Haka. The ultimate respect to both sides. I don't know the history of it and I'm not Maori so i don't understand it from an informed point of view. But for me it is a representation of masculinity, of power, respect and dignity even to their opponents. It is a form of respectful bonding and love too. I understand that it involves somehow Maori spiritualism as well. So it is a real demonstration of culture.
In New Zealand the Hakka originated to scare off other tribes and done before battles to intimidate the opposing side. I'm not sure if the guy leading was the capital but when the Hakka is done usually someone who is the most intimidating is chosen to be like the Hakka leader type thing.
Hey guys, not sure if anyone has mentioned before but could you please check out the best of Shaun Johnson... the god of dukes. Cool reaction videos you two do !
Haka we're written by the maori back in the days for alot of things and there are many! They were preformed to honour people, befor battles, to igknowledge or lay down challenges, to send off our dead to cellebrate or even to express sadness ! They are also done by the maori woman and are taught in our schools here in New Zealand! We are the people of this land so the all blacks perform this every game to lay down the challenge to the opposition. Piri Wepu is the Kaia (leader) in this haka most probably because he was nominated by the team.
Kapa o Pango this is the newest version of The haka you need to watch others from 2005-2007 was all throat slitting it's fine as much as the NZRU kept getting fined as it teams thought it was inciting violence the traditional haka is Ka mate both are essentially drawing strength from ancestors and gods to breathe in strength and to help win and make them proud. Still weird pakehas doing it but hey as long as they're kiwi Ngai Tahu represent!!!
The captain can, but doesn't necessarily lead the haka. Piri Weepu lead the haka in this video, he was not the captain of the All Blacks at the time - Richie McCaw was. The leadership group of the team picks who will lead the haka - usually it's the person they consider to have the most mana. One unilaterally respected, of good standing, and who can best represent what the haka means and it's tradition.
hi guys like your style if you want to know what it means look up liverpool haka 2016 he gives a short overview of what it means, luv your work all the way from chch nz
Hey. Bro ,,,we are came from. Vietnamese. And we are living in. AOTEROA ,,for many years and we are know about MAORI. Cutures and HAKA. When capatains. Cook found the New Zealand there was a really originals. Maori people's the first its. A they call. MAUI"I ,,and then when capatains cook his travel thru to all pacific island ,,1845. &1971. His is killers and death. ,,and then. From that. Maori names by. Capatains cook made the name it. 🇳🇿🏉👍. Choice hey bro.
Nah piri was not the captain he was just the best option for kaea of the haka. Richie McCaw was the captain back then and he was in the front in the middle that’s where the captain normally is.
This is the best Haka ever due to Wales reaction - love the ref get's a bit worried as they stare each other down - and it also has Jonah Lomu (RIP) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QC5w6wopmpg.html&index=52&list=FLGSpBTKVp1n0w_6avbeGpMQ
piri is the one running the haka he is a half back in the team n Richie mc caw is the captian but he has left rugby n now all blacks have a new captian Keiran reid
Please please please please please please please please please please react to Chiefs vs wales haka Chiefs is a New Zealand team in the super rugby comp, the best rugby comp under international level, Wales was touring New Zealand playing the New Zealand All Blacks in a 3 test which they lost all 3. During that time the Walsh played one of the top New Zealand teams the Waikato Chiefs Chiefs won 40 - 7
i have just come across this reaction and i like you two . When you say all sports should do this I AGREE. today i believe sports is a challenge from one team and the acceptance from the other. Therefore the challenge in the form of the HAKA and other ways is the best meaning of sport. You could have all blacks HAKA vers welsh national athen as the welsh sing very good. You could have the bagpipes and drums of scotland, south africa could have a zulu war dance, australia could have a aboringine dance, fiji, tonga, cook islands, western samoa, hawai all have dances even America could do a native american rain dance or other dance. I believe it would add something to the sports games. How ever do i think this will happen I dont think so because a lot of countries out there done respect the natives of there countries unlike New Zealand. Just saying.
The best haka was led by outside centre tana umaga in France in Paris 2004 traditionally only a Maori can lead the haka but that day tana being of polanisian decent was given the honours he couldn't have done a better job!
** If you wanna see the honest and deep meaning to the Haka.. you should watch the Haka Doc from Beats (by Dre)!! ** can't wait for more rugby videos ! The Haka is originally performed before most NZ national team sports.. Made more famous by Rugby ! The rest of Polynesia share this cultural custom with the NZ Natives (Maori)..
lol do a reaction on tribal haka of (Tuhoe) tribal name this was made when the Maoris fought the English (Ko te Pūru e ko te pŪrU ko au.) < copy that name it will send u too it (Ko te Pūru is the hakas name
