Very good call, but not anything outrageous! Let me explain: how many value hands are there that wouldn't 3-bet preflop? Especially with Blom's reputation as a very aggressive player, who loves to have control of the pot... not many! It's basically combos of KT or J9. Maybe QJ, though Blom coulda 3-bet with that as well a good amount. Floating with 44 and catching a set on the turn is almost out of the question in this board. Blom would probably muck after the c-bet. If he did have one of the value hands, why not protect it immediately with a c-bet or a re-raise on the flop? So many draws already out there. 4 of diamonds brings in another ton of draws. So the amount of bluffs massively exceeds the amount of value hands. Moving in as quickly as Blom did on the river didn't help either imo. Kisacikoglu played mostly the odds, but the man a bit as well. Also went with his gut. It's a great call, dont get me wrong! But there have been plenty of more outrageous ones! Certainly not the greatest hero call in WSOPE History! Not even remotely close!

It's a savvy call, but I wouldn't call it a hero call. This was all about what hand that Blom was repping. The only thing I fear in this position is a busted flush draw that hit a pair of 9s, 4s, or 3s, that is correctly being assumed to be the better hand on a single, low pair. The bets feel a lot more like bluffing a straight than actually having a straight. I've made a call like this twice before, though one time the guy actually did catch a low pair that beat me and that was sad.

With the flush draw out there, why would someone keep checking the nuts? Makes way more sense that it's a bluff with the K blocked. Everything together makes it a lot easier for a good player.

He made the call with nothing but an Ace high. The guy went all in after the river, so he made the call with some certainly that the other guy was bluffing.

Not so easy when ou are in the chair, unless you have some history with the guy that insta shoves with 8 high. You try that in my game you won’t last 2 downs.
