when ever i watch uthermal.. it shows me how much i didnt pay attention to so many small details that were important, i was always focusing on my micro and small things instead, and if i understood the big picture better.. everything becomes better lol. Uthermal is knowledge!
Based on uThermal saying at 12 minutes, they have played against each other before - so the other player doesn't necessarily know it was livestreamed and gameplay challenges. They just think it is someone they've seen a few times before, who somehow masterfully does something crazy. They don't know that it's his specialty or that it is livestreamed.
The final game was an absolute banger. Mona Lisa wept at its beauty. Glizzy, I salute you. Also, hard to believe that game started with a carrier into mothership rush lololol
Fairly sure if the game was over at 5 minutes, it wouldn't have gone for another 21 minutes. Poor GlizzyBomber's brain must have been malfunctioning, not being able to work out what Army composition he going to be facing on the next attack.
I had to rewatch like, I'm not a starcraft player, but the 5 min attack glizzy did so little economic damage and lost the army and apparently that means they won and uthermal should've surrendered? I don't get it.
Hey uThermal in PvP if you can't find the proxy you could try to hallucinate a probe. It spawns 4 instead of just 1! You probably knew, but I'm sure lots of people would be surprised to see it
I think he showed that off a while back, but then forgot about it. I think that would be a pretty good mind game trick if he used both. Fake proxy/cannon rush with the probes, then fly a bunch of fake phoenixes around. Or actually do a proxy, but first hallucinate the probes to run around his main base as a distraction? Would the final form be a fake worker rush? Like 20 probes just skittering around your main would be mildly panic-inducing
Hah, I went back and looked at the game state 5 minutes in to the third game and... that's exactly when Thermy chrono boosted the supply blocked mothership.
Man, the Marc evolution. I remember when he told us he used to always GG out super early in the pro days and now he clings on until the end and thats why he wins now. Mr. Bomber is so mad that he didnt GG out 5 minutes into the game after any loss. That was a BANGER game. I've seen it a few times now that you can really use the terran's alleyways and choke points they create within their own base against them.
That last game was so brilliant and off the wall… you almost can’t even disagree with the Terran’s rage lol, almost any pro assessing the replay would be like.. “..what is Protoss doin.. if they counterattack now they just lose..” and “his entire army is split” and “he’s sending in his Mothership now???” Would be the comments ROFL.
At 5 minutes into last game, that glizzy claims is the point in game where he had already won, you had just pushed back his attack. not sure how he thinks getting repelled is a game winning move.
what you have to do is attack his farthest base with your army right before recalling into his main. Draw his army as far away as you can before recalling
You should make it up to glizzybomber by offering to do some 2v2s so he can be on this side of the weird style. He's a pretty competent player and looked like he almost had you in the last game. Maybe an olive branch to save the dwindling SC2 community.
I feel like uThermal is consistently playing against lower-level opponents (though still better than me) because he uses weird non-meta strategies, but that also means he's outskilling everybody he's playing against. At least in the games he shows.
imagine a prank show but every week they keep pranking the same guy in a fundamentally weirder way and then after six weeks he finally starts preemptively yelling at the host because he recognizes him now.
He is playing in his appropriate rank and matching against a Smurf. It is not fair and is also immoral. If by slipping on the banana you mean losing to a person capable of going 98/2 against him. I'd be salty too if I were Urkel and every day Mike Tyson came over to my house and punched me in the dick.
LMAO! Thermy was spot on when he said, "He's devastated" after harrassing and killing the 1st SCV. That guy was already tilted right from the start, and it gets progressively infuriating for him. He definitely hit or broke something after this game.
"Former Pro accused of hacking for having good scouting and game sense. More at 5." You broke that man. Petition for Marc to give GlizzyBomber a complimentary coaching session for the trauma.
He just do not know that he is playing with trickster who is having fun in game not focusing on winning. ^^ But yeah, uThermal should approach his tortured players and give them a video at least, so they can see into the mind of their boogeyman ^^ Knowing that they got played by pro would ease their suffering and appreciate awesome content they have co created.
@@KurmisTheAllMighty knowing how salty and petty players can get, they could also double down on the toxicity and even more salt. Don't get me wrong I do like the idea of getting a free lesson from Thermy . Its just going to be a hit or miss experience.
@@MadShadow_ yeah i can see people getting really tilted that the guy they keep losing to is a pro smurfing lol especially if they're already that upset about it
@@lukeli5581 I think it's more a combination of memory (remembering how random ladder players play), unfortunate timing, and his pro level game sense at a not insignificantly lower MMR
A lot of little things can be said in that bit of salt. 1 Guy was suspicious, 2. His reasons and Uthermals timing and read is phenomenal. You see a cheesier player expects cheese lol. He was looking for it but missed it until later in the game. All you ladder jokers, remember that pros play on it too. Next time you see, Uthermal scout, look at his read just from running in there and seeing what your building. How suspect is Uthermal of Cheese? If he doesn’t see you building what your supposed to be building, he automatically expects cheese. His entire channel based on Cheese. Just saw Harstem, going the Cheese route on his channel, actually saw him angry at his opponent for quitting and GG, cuz he couldn’t demonstrate his cheese lol, needed content for his video. Who in SC actually wants a long drawn out game? It’s all cheese baby and moving up the ladder is like work for some people. Hahahaha, making money playing games, the life isn’t it? Make a new Dire Straits song, Money for Nothing, change the lyrics from Blister on your little finger to Carpal Tunnel in the wrist lol.
I don't know what that guy was talking about. He attempted one attack by 5 minutes and it failed to destroy a single building. he lost the encounter. Why did he think he was winning in the beginning? At 6 min, he sent in a liberator that killed ONE probe before being destroyed. by 8:30, he managed to kill a proxy pylon and a carrier as well as chase away the mothership. But that doesn't mean he won the game... At like 9 minutes, he took out the third base but lost all the probes at one of his bases at the same time. His army ended up being made to retreat because of psionic storms. I just don't see how he thought he had won the game at any point...
He thought he won because he had solid macro and 'should have' won the micro. He didn't because of 'hacking'. Every time he thought he had the upper hand it evaporated into the ether. Then when he thought he had a proper defense the opponent did something 'stupid' that he didn't expect because it was so insane only an idiot would do it. Yup. Winning.
Sadly Glizzy is just another very skilled D-Bag. Screaming and accusing opponents of hacking because you got owned.... I bet he feels like a d-bag when he watches this on YT.
Let's be honest, Glizzy was way ahead at some point, he should have steamrolled. No idea why he didn't close the game between the 15 and 20 minutes mark. Then the fight in the base happened and he lost all his army in the most brutal way possible. Props to uthermal for the insane comeback.
He's not a poor guy. He has very bad manners, a bad temper, and immature / lowly insults in store. The right attitude would to be 1) ask if it's RU-vid content / what channel 2) ask for a bit of advice 3) be fair-play, gracious and congrats.
@@Fred-yq3fs nah.. I would be pretty frustrated too, tbh. It would be amazing to play with a pro here and there in my ladder. But getting owned by weird builds while not knowing the other guys over 1000 mmr on you and at one point a top 30 world wide pro must be really really frustrating. I would say he gets a free pass for the bm after all these games but I'm sure he would find these vods entertaining too. or he's a donut, I mean who knows
@@klumzyee GlizzyBomber is well into GM on EU and Marc is playing his off race with a weird mothership rush build so their MMR is pretty close. I bet Marc's try hard Protoss MMR isn't much above 5500 MMR which is where Glizzybomber is. And he definitely knows its Marc if you read what he says at the end of the first game they played he says, "You play every race, do weird s***..." so he's well aware it's not just a rando.
@@omnimoeishi think he just remembers the account name. In d2 there is also certain player names burned into my brain cause they cannon rush or one base all in every time we meet. Some people leave an impression on you 😄
Not a great comparison when you consider the mental and physical difference between pro athletes (even retired ones) and amatuer, college, semi-pro, etc.
@@Dr.Spatula It's an excellent comparison and not hard to udnerstand. He's saying it can be taken as a compliment because uthermal is really just that good, the same way a natty guy that looks amazing could take being called a steroid user as a compliment because he's just that ripped.
Lol I looked back too and the closest fight to that uthermal lost two units and one shield battery and Glizzy lost his entire army. But yeah im sure that was a big win for Glizzy. In his unwritten rules do you lose if you have to recall your army?? :P
I thought the first game was the salt, but then the last game happened xD The mining is this ep was truly legendary. Also, look at you, playing "normal" :) Mothership rush somehow turning into an epic macro challenge producing some astonishing games.
Oh, after all the great plays from and games against GlizzyBomber, I did not expect that foul language and BM-salt. What a shame because he seemed like a real good sport and solid player in past games/videos. Still, he gave me some real hearty laughing out loud this time, oh dear, haha!
Uthermal.... my man you are def the best channel on youtube. You have the greatest attitude of any serious gamer ive ever seen. He learns from his mistakes, never gets down, and pursues thru. This man is the G.O.A.T. If anyone remembered my man HuskyStarcraft..... man i miss him, i know what hes doing now..... but Uthermal is beyond even him. Thank you for starting your channel.
To be fair, Glizzy is going against a pro trying weird strats, so it's a double edged sword of an unexpected strategy plus pro level game sense and micro. Not an easy combination to handle.
Thermy also pointed out that Glizzy’s MMR was on the rise. After a winning spree, encountering cheese from an aged fromager could really be devastating and/or humbling.
i have not played starcraft in years, i never even played mp besides a few coop games with my brother but these videos of yours are pure fun. thx uthermal
Honestly with the sheer total amount of commentary, I'm completely hooked now. I wish there was an equivalent player in every competitive game for enthusiasm and explanation / rationalization as he plays. So far only two other players remind me of this but I'm not sure they actually measure up: SquishyMuffinz in Rocket League, and Shroud in CSGO ofc... well those games aren't as technically complex.
LOL that stasis was a 200% IQ idea that backfired so hard hahahaha, how the hell did he had such aim to stasis the entire army at once xD it even gave him extra time to get some reinforcements in and attack with an even larger army hahahaha
I have said this before. But man, uThermal, you nailed this game with your off race, as pro. Some kids calls this smurfing, but really they should love it ❤ and learn when pro's decent from their heaven and play with us mortals ❤
smurfing is a dumb concept imo. In chess, every single amateur would kill for a chance to play and learn from a top 100 grandmaster or super GM. If you take the experience seriously, rather than complain, it can be a rare opportunity to improve and become better than your peers.
