He is one of the main reasons argentina won the WC. Imagine saving penalties on querter, semis even in the finals, forget about wc ,he did save us in copa too.. he's just too good
He IS the reason Argentina won the WC. He didn't just do a great save...HE DID A MONSTER SAVE. He's a great goalkeeper. His performance at the WC is one for the AGES. I'm an old man and have seen many WC finals...and in person in '94...but this WC final was the BEST!!!! Two legendary teams...legendary players...I'm still in awe a year later. WOW...just WOW.
I think that’s one of the reasons England won’t ever win anything, I don’t see that type of passion in the players like I do in Argentina or other countries
That save was the biggest moment of his life. Of every Argentinian on the fields life. It was just massive. I would’ve cried if Messi lost his last WC final
Messi and argentina would have never won the WC without him....he was the most important player... 1.emi martinez 2. Messi 3. Di maria Are the 3 heroes of the final... And whole argentina squad gave there 100% played 10/10 playmaking and defending with perfection.... Legendary squad 🇦🇷
Pendu fan making up his own alternate reality. 🤡 Messi was their best player followed by Martinez. Di Maria? people like Julian Alvarez and Enzo were better than him whole tournament. 😂 trying to discredit Messi with your bs take. See your comments calling Messi pepsi, learn football kiddo. Without Messi they don’t even get to knockout rounds, let alone win it.
Emi, Di Maria and Messi were crucial for the win. The save that saved so many people’s dreams. And the penalties was the most nail biting moments in the history of football, Period. And he just stood like a wall.
Imagine what a crazy feeling it must be. Time must have slowed down so much for him. Imagine closing your eyes, praying to just feel the ball hit you. Imagine he didn’t save it. Imagine closing your eyes, praying for the ball to hit you, and you feel nothing. I would be scared to open my eyes after that.
"Praying for the ball to hit you, and you feel nothing" You pierced my heart with that one man.😢 I know how I felt when Argentina lost to Saudi. Messi's rocket vs Mexico rescued me from depression. Then from all the rollercoaster of emotions from Netherlands to Poland to Croatia. Messi magic dazzling the world. "We might just do it" I kept thinking as my faith grew stronger. Millions of Argentinians out on the streets for that final. You just made me think; Imagine if that went in fam. After all we went through, imagine that went in. Much love fam.
I was begging for France to win, and for a moment it seemed inevitable. Argentina looked desperate in those final minutes, France were finally taking the reins of the game, Mbappe was cementing his legendary reputation before our eyes… and then this save happened… and I thought “Oh no, that’s the game”. Because I knew with absolute certainty that if it went to penalties, Lloris could not match Dibu. And I was right. Many of my friends were going for Argentina and I texted them my congratulations before the kicks were taken. They were surprised! “The game isn’t over yet!” I said yes, it is, because Emiliano Martinez is going to do what he does best.
@@runningthor1999lmao, from Argentina and I had a similar experience. As soon as the game went to penalties I just relaxed because I had so much faith on Dibu. While everyone in my house was freaking out I was like super chill in a corner knowing argentina had already won. (It could've backfired, but I really trusted Dibu that much to take the pens)
Kolo Muani felt the stress and aura Dibu emitted that's why he didn't see Mbappe was clear. .. If only Kolo was calm and saw Mbappe several metres to his left , he could have through the ball and the story would be diffrent. .. I'm just glad Dibu won the mental game against France and made them play straight into his hands. .. Atleast we could see Messi lift the trophy
As a villa fan, I get to see his influence amongst the team regardless off his performance on the pitch..... Massive personality and consummate professional
This legend deserves EVERY second of the fame he's been thrust into because of THAT save.... and the dozen other incredible blocks he provided his Country. 👏👏👏 It was truly a Magical run and at last.... at LAST, the stars aligned perfectly for Messi, all his incredible teammates and Argentina as a whole. 👏👏👏
As an Arsenal fan, I remember the day he asked to leave Arsenal. I knew he saw the same thing most fans did. Goalkeeper was a total toss up for Argentina since Romero aged out. I never blamed him for forcing his way out. But man, even I didn't see him being the hero of a World Cup winning side. Hats off.
He literally saved my life. I had a gun ready to pull the trigger but he saved me from a horrible traumatic event. He gave us the BEST save in soccer history and ensured we could celebrate the well deserved win for Argentina!!! 🇦🇷 🏆
@@GreenScreenK1dsthe final passage of play in the world cup final? I don't think any other game of that significance has been decided in that moment, I think football history is justified
Craziest game I’ve ever seen and greatest save I’ve ever seen. this man really put on a show for us in pks too. Couldn’t stop mbappe but for sure made everyone else feel small
He won World Cup 2022. If that got in, it would be worst World Cup. But he saved it. And also saved another penalty kick in final shootout. ❤❤ He is a hero.
Many Argentines have a good level of British (RP) English, we start learning it when we're 8 years old and we keep learning it until we're 18. It's compulsory, you can't choose another foreign language to learn, you might add another one (normally French, Italian or German depending on the school) but you can't replace English. My first cousin once removed started learning English when he was 3 lol.
Everybody had those moments. It was a collective effort that won that cup. But... That collective effort was fueled by the entire team wanting Leo to win this cup!!! 🙏🙏🙏🤴🤴🤴👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
@@kjvdsanuoluwapo2817 listen, just because your a messi fan doesn't mean that everyone has to like argentina. Not even in billions. Some people like Modric, Mbappé, cr7, Halland. And some don't even play football or watch
@@playground5359 casillas save was more important since it was harder and spain would have never ever held a world cup if that went in, but for argentina not as big as deal since they already won 78 and 86
@@jaserkhelfa2 casillas save was around the 70th minute meanwhile Martinez's save was in the last minute in extra time 💀💀💀 also if it wasn't for this save the goat would've no world cups
That 1 game by itself gave me a happiness, more happiness, to annoyed, to mad, to heart attack, to another heart attack, and relief. Martínez and the whole game really made me jump out of my comfort zone
Emiliano, soy Emilio. Tengo familia en Argentina. Acá en Miami lloramos de alegria cuando ganó Argentina. Felicidades, hermano, por una Copa Mundial estupendísima!
Eres impresionante! Thank you for making me cry, tears of joy. I was praying for Argentina to win the World Cup. God knows Messi, and the rest of the team deserves to win.🎉🎉
