He’s led the league in scoring and finished as an MVP finalist for most of the past decade. Only reason he has no rings is cuz his prime coincided with the GSW. The same team that kept Bron, KD, AD, Westbrook, dame, etc. from winning. But he was the only one who took those avengers to 7 games
This is revisionist history at it's finest. You're SEVERELY overstating what actually happened. He had A LOT of stinkers and overall underperformances in the playoffs troughout the years. And not only against the Monstars Warriors.
Peak Harden was insane he’s the first person to get a 60 point triple double and he was doing things that we’ve never seen league pass was a must in 19 to see him
9:28 Everyone knows how dominant Kobe’s scoring in 05-06 (best scoring season in NBA history when considering context) but Kobe’s scoring was also impressive for the 06-07 season. For perspective Bron (one of the top players of all time/all time leading scorer) just recently had his 14th career 50 pt game (back in the 22’ season). Well Kobe (06-07) had 10 50+pt games in one season and 4 straight 50 point games (65, 50, 60, 50 on 58%, 48%, 55% and 54% FG %). Kobe truly is one of the greatest scorers of all time (especially considering context of the era he played in). Sad these kids today who didn’t see him play underrate him.
Kobe averaged 40+ for an entire month twice in that 05-06 season. January 43.6 PPG and April 41.6 PPG. This was in a much slower pace and he was First team all defensive so he’s expending his energy on both ends yet still putting up history numbers. Then you got the 62 points in 3 quarters out scoring the Mavs 61 and a month later scoring 81 points on the Raptors
Don’t forget the 50 4 straight games even tho I’m not sure what year that was. But with harden it was a lot of guys not even really playing true defense bc of how they were calling fouls
Ah, yes, the mythological creature that no one has ever seen "A Healthy Embiid". And calling a 7'2" 300 pound Center who can't shoot 50% from the Field in a playoff game if his life depended on it "one of the greatest scorers ever" is legitimately clownish.
Damian lillard two month stretch in 2022 37ppg Eleven 40 point games Three 50 point games Two 60 point games And a 70 point Nobody talks about this him being 6’2 makes it even more crazy
James harden’s whole game was based around foul baiting, shooting 20 free throws and traveling to get open 3’s. He did it in the nba’s weakest defensive era and still couldn’t score more in a season than Jordan who shot mostly middys in the league’s toughest defensive era. Y’all need professional help.
@@reecenorwood8377 Jordan was getting laid out every time he entered the paint. Harden played in an era where you’re not allowed to touch the offensive player and they shot damn near the same amount of free throws. How does that happen ? 😂 the Harden rule exists for a reason.
I've been watching James harden since his days at ASU as a Sun devil fan. But they also change the rules cuz he was flopping so bad, he's also defensively inept. But I use him to drop 50 on 2K
Yeah but his off-ball movement greatly diminishes his ceiling as a player and for his team. I cabt deal with you not playing a good defense coming but now with you having zero off ball game. How could you run a all-time offense and be an all-time player with zero off-ball game. The guy wouldn't even take catch and shoots. He literally had a dribble a few times even when he was open. How is that smart
Kobe 05-06 season his % of his team points were higher then any of the guys mentioned also he played in the slowest pace season between all those guys His season is more impressive because of pace of play Also harden was hooking players his numbers were inflated a lot because of free throws and guys being afraid of fouling Dude Marz said I guess you can consider pace lol 😆
I do agree Kobe 06 was a better scoring season but to say it’s not close is a lil ridiculous. Pace team and spacing is a decent argument. But when you compare each player to their respective eras and peers, it’s a debatable conversation imo.
@@aminuabdullahi5922 comparing their peers in those seasons then yes you have a point since 06 also had AI and LeBron going crazy. But player vs player (Harden v Kobe v MJ) the pace of play was dramatically slower in 06 than it was in 87 19. I would rank it Kobe, MJ then Harden because MJ was basically all 2pt field goals
@@TH-cq7bj You can argue for pace, but Harden was scoring like 1 more point per game while taking 3 less shots than Kobe. Still, Jordan is the greatest scorer. But i feel the difference is Jordan early in his career was allowed to just take all those shots while Harden had maybe 2 or 3 seasons in which he got that type of greenlight.
Yeah if Jordan would have shot 3's like today's game he would've average more than 40 points a game during his peak scoring seasons and probably closer to 34-36 points for his career
I remember watching him destroy Orlando one game in the 2019 season, dude did a no look bounce pass to Anderson so easily . He’d get like 17 pts in one quarter alone .Too bad he had such a bad production dropoff late in the playoffs if not dude could’ve had at least 2-3 chips by now.
I’m sorry harden was overrated !! Great in his prime choke in the playoffs y’all talking about regular season stats .. add to this Mike Dan toni system almost anybody can do what harden did because the ball was always in his hand with shooters around him great player but Marz cap n said he should won like 3 or 4 mvps you have to produce in the playoffs too
James harden played in an era where the star was allowed a constant green light. Do you knpw how many players would be better scorers if they had that? Team ball kept alot of players from being harden. Which is why you see tatum and luka in the finals. What years dud harden deserve MVP? You used to be penalized for stat padding
Without context, what u guys saying can be accepted as truth.. Just bucket! But with context, there's a lot of guy very close to harden.. we have to count the playoffs too
2019 Harden proved that defenses was weak. He was foulbaiting, kicking his feet and the refs were giving him almost every call. Harden is gimmicky and weve seen that time and time
Did Chill say Jordan only had 12 games over 40 points and still averaged 37.1 points. That makes no sense Jordan had 37 games over 40 points that year. 29 over 40, 6 over 50 and 2 over 60. Only 3 games under 19 points.
