for me, being mixed for some reason i was really happy to see Zendaya in it as well as other diverse people because growing up their weren't many films with main characters that I could resemble also the film was amazing and had a beautiful message!! :)

Why do we complement people mostly only when they are wearing makeup and have ironed hair?. We should tell them they’re Beautiful with their natural beauty. But anyways Zendaya is gorgeous and she fights for what she believes in.

I really enjoyed the message that was shared in the movie. It is sad to think that their is so much hatred for different cultures even in this day especially among those who should be setting the example. We need to love our neighbors as ourselves and love each others cultures because we are one human race. We are all related. Both my wife and I have experienced some prejudice because we come from different cultures and so does my sister and brother-in-law . The movie has a Great Message!

I almost find it strange to hear her talk about a forbidden relationship between a black and white person. When I look at her I see a Half white/ half Black girl. She's beautiful, and I can tell she is mixed, so I find it strange hearing that her relationship would be forbidden because she is technically white as well as black. I feel that since she is mixed and mixed children were not excepted in those days, that could have been the storyline in the movie. She joined the circus because of racism against mixed kids. I feel like this would have been a relatable and interesting story that played true to her in real life. She still could have had her brother, he could be her mixed or half-brother, I feel it would have added more to the storyline. Mixed kids where treated differntly than kids that were black, or of other races.

Thought it was the social class more than colour to be honest. Zendaya is a total queen but maybe they should have used a different actress of darker skin for this , or Winnie Harlow would have been an interesting choice.

Keep in mind how extremely racist people were back in the day. People who were half black and half white were considered outcasts because 1) they didn’t fit in either side and 2) they were the product of interracial relationships which was scandalous back then. Anne Wheeler being portrayed as light-skinned was already interesting in itself in my opinion.
