Glad to see your game is more confident and agressive. Thats the way to go. If i were you i would work hard on the slice. Normally on this level a slice is not a weapon. A good slice is a game changer and can make a difference in many situations.

great match Felix! taking a 500 ATP to a third set and almost winning is incredible! i feel you just need to work on closing those points, and i got to admit i'm jealous of how easily you strike the ball, i mean i practice it in training and get it but in matches i seem to have trouble letting loose and miss almost every time! Continue to work hard it is paying off!
@Alexander-dt2eq
@Alexander-dt2eq 8 месяцев назад
just do not overhit it. secret of pro tennis is have a margin of error available in your shots. Felix could surely strike it even harder but he does not do it, cause he would miss too many of his shots. control is more important than power. once you get control and a good technique you just hit it a little harder

Hey Felix, A very Happy New Year It has been incredible to say the least, seeing the eevolution of your tennis from 2 years back It is a treat to watch improving your strengths and adding new aspects to your game, The loss was definately really toigh being match point up it definately hurts, but the fact you anihlated a top 500 pro in the first set and gave him a run in the second and also the qualifying match against the italian guy shows the increase in your level winning scores like 6-2,6-4 with double breaks or breaking back keep it up man

The physical part of playing at the highest level has got to be the biggest stepping stone in order to make it. You both can play very well, you just need that extra gear to hold in the match and keep the level high until the end. When the body is struggling, the injury lingers not far behind. Good game, really enjoyed the level of this match.

Hi felix I’ve been watching you for a few months now I used to play tennis myself I was at a very high standard!! You should of won this match !!! You were the player who looked 540! Your biggest weapon is your forehand mine was as well as soon as you hit a screamer get to the net ! Like I say I’ve only just started watching you and your progressing really well! When I was playing around the Pete Sampras era 30 years ago I always attacked the net ! When you hit a monster forehand get to the net make them pass you!!! And you were beaten when you lost the 2nd set and I know when your playing and winning your head runs away with you! I’ve been there and on the big points you need to relax! I know it’s sounds easy I’m proud of you First set you dominated it and there’s a few points if you served and volleyed you would of won some points I would like to have a hit with you I’m 44 now When you had match point you played a to safe return in to no mans land Like I say your an attacking player not a hacker!!! Keep moving forward and don’t be intimidated cos someone is higher than you! I hope you think this is critical feedback Let me know what you think about my comments

5-1, 40-30 point where you hit a deep backhand to his backhand corner after pulling him to forehand is your best so far. Nice Clean game Felix. Well Done mate. your mental fortitude has improved but it still needs work. now remember to drill into your mind, how you played in the first set, and uptown the middle of second set, and upto 5-5 in the tie-break. Use the memory of these moments for your image training. a high level match is rare in any tennis career so remember it and repeat it. Good luck Felix and happy new year.

Keep going mate. the baby steps are slowly turning into giant leaps.👍👍 For the second set 6-6, bot at 6-5(your match point), and 6-7(his match point) it seemed like you were rushing the rally, the 6-5 point where you got into his pace, and made some shot selection that was advantageous to him. and the 6-7 point was where you were really rushing the point, which forced you to miss volleys. happened to me to. I made it a habit to reset myself at match points, by training with a visual cue on the court, or a memory cue, use that to remind yourself to reset your mood to when you were at your best. that kind of mental training before the point in a quick couple of seconds will really help you clear your mind, and help you construct your rally to your advantage.🙏

Hi Felix, I'm a tennis coach and love watching your updates. You've noticeably improved your groundstroke consistency and precision without dropping quality on the ball. From what I see on videos, you're very athletic but your defensive skills are still quite average. I feel like the opponent has an easier time destabilizing you, and can take advantage accordingly. I feel like sometimes although you get to the ball, you spend so much energy into the shot, that consequently your recovery or positioning is off and the opponent can really start to push you around from there. Try to get more balls deep in the middle when you feel rushed on some groundstrokes. You're athletic and in good shape, I feel, so don't be shy to rely on your physical abilities rather than shot quality 100% of the time. Sorry if this comes off judge-y, I just mean to share my thoughts and observations as a coach. I love your stuff, and wishing you all the best for 2024!!! Thanks for all your hard work on and off the court, and allowing us to observe the highlights.

For what it's worth, you can really see the difference in body language between the 2nd and 3rd sets. You not only lost the set, but you lost your energy. You opponent seemed fitter than you, which might give you some ideas what you need to do to reach his level. You certainly showed you can hit as well as him, but maybe you need a bit more stamina. Good luck in 2024
@Alexander-dt2eq
@Alexander-dt2eq 8 месяцев назад
yeah big improvement tennis-wise. just get some stamina in. also on critical points like match points you must play at least a very good and solid game. Felix sliced return to the T on match point was just showing that he had no confidence in winning the match . From then on, he was clear to lose. Even just watching the video i could feel that he would lose a 3rd set.
@jackquinnes
@jackquinnes 8 месяцев назад
@@Alexander-dt2eq Hindsight, slicing to the T forces the opponent who has all the pressure facing the match point to come up with a good relaxed shot. It was close.

@@jackquinnes forcing? rewatch the video. that was the most "how afraid can i be" as a returner point :) he put it mid-high in the middle of the court, it was a penalty for the opponent. slice is good if it stays below the net, that "slice" was slow, not much spin and bounced so high that he could just put it away

Felix, your problem is that you give too much respect to your opponents. Start being a little more arrogant and believe you can beat players who are higher ranked than you. Start thinking that someone ranked 500 in the world is a nobody and you can beat them. You need to change your mentality and start believing in yourself more. You have the skills to reach top 200, but you need to believe in yourself and your abilities.
