And now he did it again at Apex. It's so crazy that Amsa went from that Yoshi everyone loves but no one expects to win, to someone to be feared at every tournament he goes to.
I genuinely can't stop coming back to this video, it has to be one of my favorites on RU-vid. The story of Amsa is legitimately so inspirational and the editing highlights it to its fullest
Bro holy frick, your editing is some of the cleanest I've ever seen on a Melee video, your music choice was absolutely on point, and you're incredibly talented at fleshing out a narrative. Genuinely amazing video, those 28 minutes flew by like it was nothing.
this was so well put together. there's a lot of videos out there dedicated to amsa's TBH10 win but yours was the only one that brought back the feelings I had that day watching the tournament from home.
I remember watching Hbox doing a tier list a couple years ago and he said something along the lines of "I think Yoshi has a ton of untapped potential" and that's been stuck in my head ever since
Oh definitely dive right in, it's a great scene to keep up with. I don't play but I love the narratives that have popped up over it's storied 20 years. Check out the Smash Documentary here on RU-vid for sure
I haven’t played in a long time but the competitive scene is genuinely so entertaining. I don’t watch any other esport really but the story lines in melee are the best
@@jasonanno3881 definitely helps that the game has been played at a high level for such a long time. Mang0 is one of the most incredible stories in e-sports imo, and I don't even really like him all that much 😅😅
This is my 2nd favorite video, all time, aside from Mang0 the musical. I think if 20:37 were the starting sequence, I'd watch this video more often. I still might, but the opening sequence of Mang0 the Musical (and strategic use of song lyrics) really grab me and bring me back. Frankly, thanks for making this type of content though - It is one of the few relics of today's day and age that I can point to and say, "This. This is my reason to live."
I love that he wanted to beat hungrybox so bad because for a loooong time Jiggly was basically seen as trash, right? correct me if I'm wrong.. And like.. HBox turned that shit around and I bet you this kid saw that and noticed they had the same passion and he just HAD to fight him. Beautiful.
Really well edited, love the history behind everything and some obscure clips that you used. However, when Kodo was playing Amsa it would have been hilarious if you put the Amsa's window has closed clip in there right then. But super fucking good job, hope you make more shit.
This editing was CLEAN, god damn I'm a sucker for music synced title cards and this video delivered on those Same way aMSa delivered on winning ANOTHER supermajor last night! May the Yoshi reign last forever!
I don't like fighting games, and even if I were to play one, any version of smash would be the last, and I've never heard of any of these guys except hungrybox before, but I was on the edge of my seat for this entire video. Fantastic editing, great job.
Come on bro Street Fighter 6 is right there waiting, this is just about the best time to get into the scene if you wanna be on the edge of your seat as a player competitor and spectator
Gimr nabbing Amsa and sponsoring him was absolutely clutch. Amsa gonna go down as one of the gods of melee, taking an absolutely NO NAME character and winning against literally the strongest collection of melee players with them is just unbelievable. I remember watching Amsa being like "yeah he's good but he'll never win against these top tiers. Shit man Yoshi might be the best character in the game for human hands.
Melee is still the best ssb. I just recently started using Slippy emulator and playing online after taking a few years hiatus and i am in love all over again. So many good players to fight. I just wish there was an in game chat and an ability to have a friends list
Dude the highlights with kodorin at 6:28 - are the hits synced to the music on purpose? or does melee just have that kind of cool jazzy rhythm? edit: specifically on battlefield, the claps sync with the eggs and yoshi's double jab
