I grew up in Government housing in England and have lived in the USA. For 25 years and just bought a Solid gold Sub new ref 2023 Black face and feel like I was watching a video about my life. I should have never made it but somehow i did .. Thanks for that , loved it.
I also transitioned from the Steel to the Gold Bluesy without realizing that there was a 1993 version so ended up getting it new nonetheless and am very very happy with it the watch reminded me of an Egyptian sarcophagus with the blue and golds being reminiscent of eternity and rebirth. One of the best purchases I ever made and I deserve it for what I’ve survived just like you Oisin. I love your video because I get it on so many levels while bringing the edge of tears to my eyes. Yes, and add another well done. Maybe the perfect combination of words and music to showcase a magnificent, beautiful and bold instrument. The juxtaposition of the 18 carat gold case and the blue dial cannot be matched. I have had my steel-and-gold Submariner for 39 years this December, and, even if I could afford to buy the 18K tomorrow (I couldn't), I would never sell this one. It has rarely been off my wrist for all those years, and, for all those years has kept perfect time. Meanwhile, friends, and even family--come and go. An almost perfect man-made thing---the King of the watchworld. No matter what anyone says. Thank you.
Thanks for this. I bought a Submariner (Date - S.S. 16610) I barely knew what it was (though I knew Rolex) in August of 1990. I wear it near everyday. Been on all my trips (including captaining yachts in ocean - my job till recently) And (I have a collection) it IS the "best watch" (if you can afford it. (I paid $1785. Brand New at Dealer 34 years back) Thanks for this. Good as always. You really just do have a talent for this stuff!

Yep, great video. Looking back sometimes help us see the future clearer. The sub is a class act in every way. I used to own one , loved it - but life happened and it had to move on. Now I have an Air King and a White Gold Daytona, could not be happier. This is the sort of video that one can watch (no pun intended) over and over.
