The Green Hornet - 07 - Beautiful Dreamer (Part 1) 

I was enrolled in a Karate class when these came out...I was Fastenated! I'd come home from school, watch Get Smart, Wild Wild West---Then, Green Hornet. Something strange began to happen; I somehow picked up on Lee's skills, and techniques. I began to best guys who had a higher belt ranking than me. True story. Ahh, those were fun days.

This show was cutting edge for it's time, the Green Hornet not only had a drone, but a telephone answering machine as well.

Wish the series had lasted just a little longer, Van and Wende were a "super couple" waiting to happen and what can you say about super Bruce Lee, a piece of my 60s childhood that I will never forget...

Van Williams and Bruce Lee became very close friends during the Green Hornet--Mr. Williams realized very early on that Mr. Lee was the true reason viewers tuned in every week and as such pressured the writers to give Mr. Lee a much larger role in the show than just being his "sidekick"

Wow, I remember having seen the car as a toy car. Never new it was from a TV series. We didn't have it here.

The actor playing Peter Eden seems to be having a lovely time sleezing it up and playing the swarmy doucebag, bless his heart. I hope he enjoyed himself. He's fun to watch, with that fake cigarette. One of my fav episodes.

I thought it was Green Hornet was the detective and gadget guy and Kaito was the marital arts. But the Green Hornet had some good moves, had that shoulder throw and takedown

A lot of Chrysler autos in this series. It was common back then to put a mention in the end credits such as "Automobiles furnished by Chrysler Corporation," but they didn't do that with this series. Even the Black Beauty was a tricked out 1965 Chrysler Imperial Crown. Odd.

They needed to write Bruce Lee' character, Kato in into the show more. Wasted his acting skills. Different time back in the 60'. Wasn't a stereotype. Didn't know what to do with Bruce, at that point in time. Action scenes were out of this world for the 60'. Loved this show even as a little kid, so much edgier and darkly realistic compared to Batman. The bad guys were more realistic.

It might be interesting for a university film class to take every line and scene of every Green Hornet 1966/67 TV show; analyze it and put it together into a perfect 3 hour Green Hornet movie. You could have the DA say 'yes, we got this guy but he was working for someone else' - leading to the next takedown and finally the "big boss." Remove the filler scenes, add a little more Kato and character development by using lines from other segments while the back of the speaking character is shown. Remaster that and put it on the big screen!

When lady shouted out "Look its the Green Hornet, what has he done to that girl???" I felt a deep sadness as thought to myself she would not be saying that If this was Gotham City and Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) were standing over her!!!!

The tv show lasted from 1966-1967 came the same time like Batman and Robin both eventually fought against each never known both were crime fighters. The Green Hornets car Black Beauty and Batman Batmobile.

I saw this when I was a kid, thank you for the wonderful memories, also, considering how snippy wende wagner was to scott Brady in destination inner space, I'm surprised she didn't pull a gun on him 😊, anyway, thanks for posting and God bless you.

the first clue that something was amiss after they’d heard the tape should’ve been that miss case rang the doorbell. i rather doubt if she’d do that under normal conditions. where on earth did they come up with names like harvey wix (wick[e]s?), george foster matson, and hamilton bartlett? just pull them out of thin air?

Hell Bruce should have got more combine time with black beauty . Action on the road. Only time the car hits the road is at night . Up against a big armoured truck . The one cool thing other than the car , is the garage music . But hey Kato is all cool. The way he can drive an keep an i on the hornet . Cause he is a body guard . Pop an i watched it an you know how people pick on stuff , how does oil an fluids stay down on both cars when flipped . But we know you get it , or don't. Cool son. They did some cutting on part one an two. Brakes . Hornet kills a girl.

William Dozier was a genius! He did both the green hornet,and batman! How many would think of that?

I know van Williams had more lines and was paid the most money and very humbled provided the leadership to Greenway productions and William dozier that Bruce Lee was the clear cut superstar of the green hornet TV series!

Bruce Lee introduced Kung Fu to the American audience on TV. Before Lee it was all Karate and Judo. After Lee, it was Kung Fu and Aikido and other styles of Martial Arts that got popular.

The scene where the young lady is thrown out of a car is especially effective when the woman screams out "It's The Green Hornet, what has he done to that girl" is effective in that the Hornet is feared by the general public.

This show should of ran another 3 yrs it was more mature and serious compared to batman This 2 part episode beautiful dreamer was the best episodes, and the other 24 episodes was uplifting entertaining and deserves an a+ Stephen b magee

Van didn't have any hate/ jealousy towards the cast of the green hornet series especially towards Bruce lee!

think about it, there might be some younger person in this series that can say they got their plate handed to them by the legend himself, Bruce Lee, i looked up a lot of the actors and many had died in their 90's

The Green Hornet was better than Batman it was more real then Batman and the Green Hornet series should been longer then Batman should been on and TV producers made real biggest mistake that they should choose Batman over the Green Hornet and I know everybody that had seen the Green Hornet and Batman would and now right to this day would agree with a 100 percent The Green Hornet was and still is the show Hand on to Van William, Bruce Lee and Wendy Wagner y'all was it and RIP.
