I used to work for this company and I agree they should be push pulling and the only scraper that got a full load was the 623 paddel wheel. 🤣🤣. Good company though they have lots of work and keep you busy. That’s why I stayed with them for 6 years.

I wonder if the contractor only had one dozer available assigned to the cut just for ripping which was why the scrapers had to self-load. Or, being that the haul to the fill being relatively short and the number of scrapers (the majority being twin-powered along with the paddlewheel, with one single-engine pan) precluded having a pusher. I could see if a second pushcat dedicated to pushing only would then allow full bowl loads, rather than the half-full loads seen here. On the other hand, cycle times are short, and the load count fairly high.

I thought the same thing but only one machine could load before out of the cut. Should have been pushing with the dozer.

If you'll notice the one dozer is flat outright ripping. So that is put of the question.

The TEREX scraper is one of my favorites especially the ones with the twin Detroit diesel. Unfortunately because of California emissions BS they can no longer run those ones here.

The fill target radiates commercial land. No-one wants a home right under a cliff. A shopping center + service station -- yeah. Commercial land goes for premium bucks. That's the economics. You can bet they're so far high in the hills that there is no commercial land nearby.

I'm not really sure why they're not push pulling or using the dozer. Next time I am around that area I will try to talk to the foreman and see what engines they have. Thanks for watching bud

@@wailnshred Sure looks like it but the only way I could ever get a struck/level load in a lizard was just put it in 1st and reek along. It'd get there eventually. Downhill was a LOT better for any pan.
