The Grenada Carnivl 

A Day before the main Carnival on the Caribbean island of Grenada is the "dirty carnival" . In remembrance of Slavery and the bad times , carnival goers dress in dark clothing , the sometimes smear themselves with motor oil or paint or coal , and the dance very sexualized dirty dancing to the beat of the steel drums. They march down to the harbour and ash in the ocean , to signify a cleansing of the past. The following day is the pretty parade with the feathers and bright sparkly costumes
