Dude, I had this idea around the time mechanical arms came out but I never got the execution right. I was doing it with chests in a grid, with mechanical arms moving items from the chests into a wall of chutes. I never thought to use item vaults and move them around. I'm a little jealous but mostly in awe towards how you did this! Amazing programming and engineering!

I stopped playing way before the Create mod, but this is very cool. I may have to look into the Create mod now. Though, I wouldn't use anything other than AE2 (or similar) for storage.

you could make the coordinate movements seamless by tweaking the timings. Same way it retrieves the container in two continuous motions, it could put it back as quickly

I don't know if this would count as an improvement but what if you set it up with 2 analog levers and a button, the analog levers to set the coordinates on the vault, and buttons to do various of the actions you have set such as moving, or retrieving, etc.

I am 100% going to make this and hook up storage busses and import bussed from ae2 and have infinite storage
