@@sweettea5166 no he really wasn't the one camping, k rool has to pick his moves so carefully because pika can put him at like 80% from like a single Bair or upair. And dude, t jolt is such a broken projectile because of how many pika can put out and the fact that he can run with the t jolts. Tbh in the k rool pika match up pika shouldn't even have to resort to t jolt spam. Sometimes spamming is a good option though, and it is for pika like all the time.

I agree. Thunderbolt is so effective against K.Rool when he's off stage. Pika's up B is also filthy. I'm still amazed to see Kirby kid did have a chance to beat ESAM.

speedy characters as a whole always have an advantage, especially with the nerfed air dodging from smash 4. But as a K Rool player, Kirbykid is an inspiration to us all.

While Esam's mash is crazy as most brawl vets are because of the scourge of Ice Climbers, mashing out of K Rool's down throw at that %s is deceptively easier than you would think because you can premash during the throw animation. If it was dtilt that buried him, now that's a different story.

I’ve very surprised more top players don’t have a pocket Mario so they can counterpick to Yoshi’s Story. ESAM goes Brawler on Yoshi’s and Larry goes Brawler with Hurricane Kick on Town and City, but that’s it. Sharp is the counterpick king and he’s never tried it as far as I’m aware.

All his aerials are unreasonably safe, I'm talking -4, -5, -7, despite being huge. Best dash grab in the game. Top 3 throw game. Insane ledgetrapping. Reflector, good recovery, armour on EVERYTHING. Character is objectively mid at worst

I've never gotten fake nice vibes from him. I think he just knows he's good, and boasts from a humble place. He seems to have one of the healthiest egos to me. Always willing to help and share on his streams. I think kids just can't read people well.

@@JK-ni1qe Well I did however the tournament wasn't any major or serious tournament it just happened to be a random tournament they do online, so I don't have an official win against him and I'm sure if I where to play him for a second time he'd destroy me after experiencing how a Kirby player can get in and make it hard to unleash a barrage of projectiles with King K. Rool like he normally does

So in typical tournament rules, you can’t, unless the other person agrees to it. But normal tournament rules are that you can’t unless you lose

What are the downsides to allowing players to switch characters midset? To me it seems like it only opens up options and in a game like ultimate where character matchups are almost everything I don't really see what the problem is

I think it has something to do with how stage counterpicks affect MUs or something. I personally don't like it either, but that's how it goes in smash I guess.

@@jammer4317 it serves to mitigate or even negate the purpose of a counter pick stage and in certain edge cases can cause a scenario where neither player wants to lock into a character because they're waiting to counterpick the character the opponent picked. Most fighting game tournaments prevent this by preventing the player who won the previous round from switching characters, but some smash tournaments don't seem to have that rule and I feel it should be a standard part of the ruleset.
