on flute... in other words this is the first ever rendition of the National Anthem played at a high school graduation with members from a modern jazz band posted on youtube ever wait for it... the other guys: / @theroyals7150
First, great rendition. A question? Why are only two people holding hand over their hearts. Understand if someone isn’t American, but it was one my first lessons.
Not Jeff here. For those who think it's disrespectful, please remember that the tune is called "To Anacreon in Heaven" and the original lyrics are about pagans getting drunk.
Our Country is in jeopardy - mainly from a generation of entitled simpletons who have enjoyed basking in all the comforts and freedoms that the greatest generation sacrificed for. That is exactly why you should respect this Country, even when you dont think you want to.@@sharonbass4392
Outstanding! I appreciate both the original rendition and the jazz addition. I imagine some of these student musicians have scholarships to college - congratulations to all the graduates. Well done 🇺🇲🎓🎵!
@@rimasappington6217 It was probably behind the camera, in any case anytime it is played, the hand over the heart shows respect for our country, flag or not.
I debated that myself briefly, & came to the conclusion that a li’l jazz, as opposed to taking a knee, turning their back on the flag, or Skipping it Completely, is something I can appreciate, Especially if They did that arrangement themselves, for their special moment!!! A little “Happy” in the steps of celebrating graduates, who refrained from Twerking,& doing Other disrespectful slaps-I’m Good with!!!🙏🇺🇸🙏
🤔 excited for the 😱why isn't EVERYONE ELSE standing up and I will say it I was raised differently...... Always stand for YOUR HONER of the Country...🤔 nope I will not say I am sorry for the TRUTH.PEACE BE With YOU.
The old Loggins and Messina double live album "On Stage", makes beautiful use of electric flute and electric violin. The flute is a huge part of the extended, live version of " Vahevala" is both haunting and joyous. I really love hearing instruments not traditionally thought of as rock instruments brought in and used in fresh ways. The flute and violin are so close to the human range of tones.
NO! This anthem is not meant to be jazzed up-it is a solemn tribute to the fight for our freedom and those who lost their lives doing so. They might be great musicians but leave our historic anthems as they are.
I’m pretty sure the people who have fought and died for this country would be damn proud that these kids even know the song. Seeing as how we have the first amendment and all. Or does that only apply when people want to be pissy?
Is there a reason that perhaps i have overlooked, that people find it necessary to try and reformat our national anthem? Believe me, the flute was beautiful. Tha Jazz band was awesome! But why would you or even your instructor find it necessary to showcase your talents and destroy a piece of our country's tradion and history? Good job but please leave our National Anthem alone!
