atarikeiko I don't think it's about Scott. The song was written well before he got kicked out of the band. I think it's about brooks wanting to try different music, and not wanting to play the same beach goth style anymore, and wanting to move to a different music scene. There should be a forum, maybe you should start one.

I understand.. I'm trying hard to put puzzle pieces back into something that makes sense.. Absentee ones are often the ones in rehab. I also read somewhere Brroks mentionning that "someone" did not have the work ethics they needed to go further in their popularity.. ANyway I was walking in the fallen leaves today, listenning to "Night Ride" and it seemed fitting that it could have been about Scott. About me starting a forum: : I'm not a cool enough kid. :)

atarikeiko if it was work ethic, he was probably talking about Brian Stewart (their old drummer). I don't think Scott had a problem with work ethic at all, he did a lot of the recording work for them. I think people would really appreciate a forum

Yeah that's what I originally thought, but I read somewhere else (genius I think?) that it's Brooks' self-reflection upon sobering up. I thought it was a really dark song about Scott at first, but I'm so glad I ended up reading that haha

yeah Thomas*** I understand if u wanna do ur own thing but he left way too soon he could have gotten alot of contacts and experience touring with the band I always thought he got kicked out, do u know if he will release something new in near future?

Hyde most of the contacts that the Growlers have is because of Warren Thomas. Warren Thomas had a pretty popular band called The Grand Elegance when the Growlers were first starting out. They reached out to him to help them get their music out there. He still plays with his band The Abigails. They've released two albums so far. Songs of Love and Despair, and Tundra. He'll be releasing his third album soon. You should really check out his music, it's great. If you like The Growlers' country/ western songs then you'll like The Abigails.

Tyler Arias Matt and Brooks write a lot of music. I would say that only about 10% of the music they write reaches their fans. Most of their music is either lost or saved for later releases.

I can only imagine what's left on cutting room floor. Read an interview before Beach Goth which mentioned they chose City Club songs because they sounded the way they did, but left a slew of others out. Fascinating stuff, man.
