Interrogator: “Now you will witness the FULL power of the empire..” *puts a disc in a tv* Me: “Uh, am I supposed to be scared?” *movie starts playing* Me: “OMG PLS TURN IT OFF NO!” Interrogator: “Tell me where the rebel base is..” Me: “Fine! It’s on Yavin IV!” *turns movie off* Interrogator: “Was that so hard?” Me: “Jesus, even for you, that was to far.”
Honestly, in legends I would say Lusankya and being turned into brainwashed sleeper agents would be the worst fate. Which is a few steps beyond the reeducation mentioned.
Hearing about this topic and seeing the Battlefront 2 gameplay in the back gives me an idea for a Star Wars game, where you play as a rebel who is in heavily controlled imperial hands, and the atmosphere could be super dark and hopeless, I'd love to see the empire depicted in this light. I think it would be cool to have to retreat from them every once in a while as they waste everyone, it would really drive home the evil aspect and give us something other than wholesome good guy victories like we get all the time. Or a campaign where you actually play as an imperial who doesn't turn good after 5 minutes.
I mean best case scenario they were brutally tortured to death, worst case they would be “re-educated” or spend the rest of their lives in a labor camp
awesome video. I have a question that's a off topic but, is there anything mentioning the use of Old Republic era equipment being used by the rebellion or empire? By this I mean like old outposts being discovered and used as rebel bases or ships and armor being used. It would be interesting to see old republic trooper armor being used again.
Star Wars Rethink: What if the Trade Federation economically strangled the Republic? Will this work in favor of the Separatists and how will this affect Palpatine's rise to power?
Empire Reason I live in a fine home good food and education. My Father is an Admiral a Veteran of a Clone War. That why I grew into Imperial Officer Fly Imperial Navy
Commander Bell ah a veteran family from before the empire! My parents are from Mandalore. ‘Twas a shame I had to choose but my clan sided with the empire and I am proud to call myself an imperial
I think the worst fate possible for a imperial prisoner would be if their actions that led to being inprisoned caught the attention of Darth Vader to the point that he would interrogate the prisoner himself using various force abilities to torture the information out of the prisoner then outright killed by the Sith Lord once all possible information was acquired.
What if Han Solo was force sensitive? Everything could go the same until episode IV, buy maybe when Alderaan is destroyed, Han senses it too, alerting obi wan of his abilities. It could also explain why Han is such a good pilot, and why he was able to speak to Ben in episode IX
Reading the comments has made me realize that George Lucas did a horrible job at making the Galactic Empire a faction people want to hate. Too many holes in both the original trilogy and expanded Universe to give people a reason to not want to be part of them.
Doesn’t the empire have a history of multiple genocides? With how trigger happy and authoritarian the Empire was, I’m sure joining the rebels was simply self defense for some systems.
@@vestige1671 Multiple genocides, yes. But how many were against a 'human' faction? Alderran was, too the best of my knowledge, the only genocide that was all or majority human. Many people in these kinds of video's will justify what the Empire did for whatever reason they will think of, or simply say 'the (Empire or Emperor) did nothing wrong. For the 'Empire' part, uh.....well yes, those in the higher ranking did do wrong and illegal activities even by Imperial laws, it's just they were, to an extent, allowed to get away with it by the Emperor. As for the 'Emperor' part, well it's hard 'not' to 'do nothing wrong' if 'you' are the one making the laws, changing them or removing them to fit whatever agenda you want accomplished. Other then that the majority of the people 'for the Empire' in the comment section are 'human' and know that they are far safer from the Empires will or completely exempt from a majority of the laws passed. For me the scary part is, the Galactic Empire is based off real dictatorships, namely the Nazi's, and the atrocities- Not just in Star Wars but also Game of Thrones and the video game Command & Conqueror's 'Brotherhood of Nod', but their atrocities are based of 'real events' that 'real life people would justify doing'. Which is why I hated talking to some school friends who liked Command & Conquer as I did. They justified the missions in both the original and TIberium Sun where Nod clearly killed 'unarmed' civilians and making it look like G.D.I. did it. Their reasons for the justification? "Well Nod was trying to get support and needed resources (one mission I think involved Nod gaining oil) by showing what life would be like under G.D.I. and the people would realize Nod was the better choice." And there was also a mention of how G.D.I. were the representation of 'Capitalism'. My response to that? "Uh.....you just played through a mission where you killed 'UNARMED' civilians and burned down their homes.....and G.D.I. being a 'representation of capitalism' is your justification?" Yeah I didn't stay friends with those people for every long......what was the point I was trying to make again?
@@madisonatteberry9720 George Lucas doing a horrible job for making people hate the Galactic Empire? I mean, the Interim Coalition of Governance from the Xeelee Sequence series is way more hated than the Galactic Empire and the Imperium of man from 40k.
Madison Atteberry Some of those guys *might* have authoritarian tendencies irl. But I think most of them are either doing it as satire or they’re young adults going through an edgy phase. I was the same way playing this game series called Killzone in high school (looking back years later, the helghast were still fascist pricks) Still, the empire has an ugly pattern of extreme violence even against its own loyal and human citizens that directly contrasts with its promises of order. Alderaan and Operation Cinder are prime examples of this.
Not to justify what they did. But wasn't the Empire "aka palpatine" originally trying to build up the military and bring everyone under control because of the Yuzzhan Vong or something ?
I think you think people are stupid. So okay somebody I know of influence and power that hates the Empire suddenly says "Actually they are great", I'd be suspicious; and I'm not the only one. Where there's one that thinks that way in a galaxy spanning civilisation there will be many billions who think the same. To put it in context suppose Nigel Farage suddenly turned round and said "You know what; Europe is amazing and I was wrong". How many people would believe him and not wonder why the change of heart; especially if he'd disappeared for a while into Europe.
I mean to be fair the new republic executed people simply as a publicity stunt if the so much as saluted the imperial flag. Not saying the empire was made of saints but I’d rather have them
Dues Caymania then your best bet would’ve been to defect as soon as they won on Endor. Because being experimented on or enslaved is a far worse fate than death.
Cyber Flame fair to be true. But I do believe the rebels deserved their fate for the death and destruction they caused. Whether I’m correct in my decision or not, who’s to say but I still believe in the emperor
Dues Caymania Lothal is a perfect example of the damage the Rebels caused. When we were first introduced to Lothal, Imperial presence was minimal, however as Rebel attacks increased, so did the Imperial presence. It was the Rebels fault for Lothal’s militarisation
