My finishing school Le Mesnil in Montreux took us to the chalet they had in Gstaad for the winter trimester in 1980! That’s where I learned how to ski. We used to go dancing to the GreenGo Nightclub at the Palace Hotel. Beautiful memories came back watching your video! I enjoyed it very much!

My uncle worked as a purser for Lufthansa in the 80s and 90s. During one of his visits, he left me a copy of a hotel guide called The Leading Hotels of the World. As a young teen not having much opportunity to travel, I browsed the pages of that guide countless times, and The Gstaad Palace Hotel was one of the few that kept standing out to me, and became one of the places I always dreamed of going to. Though in my adult life I have gotten to travel to a handful of international destinations, Switzerland, and The Gstaad Palace Hotel has unfortunately not been one of those destinations. Thank you for sharing this in such detail and care; you've made me feel like I was able to go to this wonderful place. :)
I think I would hang out in the most in La Fromagerie! 1) I adore cheese 2) I adore the Swiss Cheese Culture (youtube has MANY videos that give you a deep dive into traditional summer mountain cheese making cabins - super special) 3) of course it all looks delicious 4) the ambiance looks inviting! A hotel combining timeless elegance with modern convinces, it is a destination in its own with a world class spa, multi restaurants and beautiful vistas from its terraces. Summer or winter both would have their own appeals and all you would need is several good books, swimming gear and smart attire. It is a hotel I expire to stay in

I stayed here once a few years ago, and while my parents have been able to provide some very nice trips for us in the past, I think overall the Gstaad Palace was the most luxurious and comfortable I’ve ever felt.
I was away from YT for about 2 months, and now i'm back and the first video i watch is this, what a soothing experience you give me from this single video. The picture, the scoring, the transition, it's just perfect.

I love this place. My family, friends and I have visited quite often over the years, and I think because of your lovely video, it's time to return during the next ski season.
It has changed considerably since the late 1980’s when I was there. The privacy fences are new, and I was surprised to see in the video, someone wearing a hoodie sweatshirt in the lounge ! The town used to be automobile -free. The Hotel Kulm is also very classy.

I would imagine this hotel is very beautiful around Christmas and Easter. With the snow and the spectacular views. The interior has very elegant and classy design. But at the same time have a very cozy homey feeling. 😘🥰❤️ Beautiful video.. loved it lot!❤️

Being on top of the world on that glacier has the same effect on me as in your video last week of seeing the sand hills in Namibia: the immense beauty and size makes you feel insignificant and happy at the same time. I always say that nature is the best artist. As a child we used to winter in Switzerland for a month each year (in S-chanf in the Engadin) and just breathing the fresh air was already so good- and made us very hungry and sleepy. We did the same every summer and my father (a hobby photographer) and I used to make 2 or 3 day walking trips up the mountains, where we stayed in very simple chalets for the night- and ate and slept very well. I still remember the impressive sights and the quietness. By the way, check out the various trips by train you can make in Switzerland, that could also be a great subject for a video. Our tour stopped briefly here in '82, we were touring thru the Alps on a leg from Luzern to Geneva. It was cloudy though, so we did not see the mountains surrounding the hotel, the only cloudy day of our two week excursion thru the Alps.
Thank U for this Vidio. It was like I experienced the winter in the luxury Gstad Hotel and all the areas albeit vicariously. I Had been to Zarmatt area in 1988 winter time. I just finished my graduate study at Syracuse Univ, and gave my self a present, a trip to Europe while flying back to Indonesia. Once again, thank U. Hope I can visit this place.

Many thanks for the great tour of The Gstaad Palace Hotel. It has always been a dream to see the inside of the hotel, but there will never be the opportunity :(. But with this video I could at least catch a glimpse.
