When I played it in 2013 it was one of the biggest disappointments in my life after thinking they were going to build on the revolutionary physics and AI of gta iv only to find they massively downgraded in favor of map size and graphics

it's more than just "loading times", if you want to know everything then go check out the digital foundry video about it. i think you all have no idea how shitty the ps4 version of gta5 actually was. the ps5 upgrade is a huge improvement but it probably shouldn't have cost anything as not even the Cyberpunk 2077 ps5 upgrade did that and neither with the Witcher 3 as well.

Generally they still manage to do good things. RDR2 exists for a reason. I'd say that Take-Two is the one grinding their gears actively. Thus, to atleast meet the quota, they have to pull shit like this.

It has a lot of bad design choices though, especially from a level design aspect, NakeyJakey has that one great video about Rockstar's outdated game design. I will probably buy it though once it becomes cheaper than $30, Rockstar really doesn't like putting their games on sale.

Ironically the story, like all Rockstar Games, was written by Dan Houser, who left the studio for unknown reasons alongside Laslow who wrote the dialog for the Radio stations in GTA.

The way they split up GTA Online into a separate entity makes you think it will support more maps over time. Think we'll see our online characters continue with the map(s) of the new GTA (which probably won't be GTA 6, but a spin off of GTA like San Andreas/Vice)

Nvme SSD... old gta would boot on 35 seconds into story on Xbox Series X... the Xbox 1 X with external SSD would load it in 1 minute 3 seconds. Havent timed current one maybe if I get bored.

I got faster loading on my Xbox one by replacing the internal drive with an SSD. The hard drive failed and I had a 1tb SSD sitting on my desk that I was trying to figure out what to do with. If it didn't work I would be in the same boat but since it did work I did not have to replace the Xbox one.

The season pass goes for 55 before tax. (Edit math was wrong calculated the tax on 64.99 giving me a less than a buck off. You get the point though.)

I can't think of any xbox game I personally own where you have to pay for an upgrade. Thankfully vast majority of games are using smart delivery so you immediately get the upgrade if you go from xbox one to series S or X.

The problem is that they earn a stupid amount of money via the online version everyday, so expecting anyone to pay for an upgrade that they should have released for free is insulting. (I'm talking about upgrading, for those that have already payed for the game once. Guerilla Games gave a free upgrade for Horizon Forbidden West, even though they were unlucky with the release since Elden Ring came out around the same time, which absolutely must have affected sales for that game)

@@ritajingoku50 I think we three are from generations who were born either slightly before or during the great advancements in technology in recent history where every year there would be something groundbreaking and developers would have to do something to standout from the crowd because it wasn’t as big as it is now and the gamers knew how to appreciate a game because there was far less or no hand holding and we had to think for ourselves and we perhaps had a lot more freedom. Nowadays all people seem to care about are good graphics (even if the core gameplay elements are trash) and high FPS (even though us OG’s know that it wouldn’t even matter that much back in the day). People are paying for glorified badly written movies in most cases (the new Cuban far cry or vanguard for ex) and they are doing so blindly because they are so ingrained in consumerism not knowing what standards a 60$ game should have
