This takes me back. My gaming laptop from ten years ago performed very similar to a GTX 650ti. GTA 5 & Gmod was a blast. Black Ops 3 zombies didn't look too pleasent on that laptop, I can tell you that.
I upgraded from a 650 Ti 2GB to an RX 7800 XT recently. Wild, I know, but prices in Brazil are ridiculous (2 or more times the US price) and all of that mining BS happened when I finally wanted to upgrade, then came the pandemic, then I stopped gaming for a while. Anyway, I wanted a mid-high end GPU, so I *had* to wait until I could buy one abroad or I'd have felt like I was wasting money.
The 1030 is slower, but because it's silent I still use that one in a build. The performance of the 650ti was close to the legendary 750ti, but a lot more powerhungry. I've used the 650 ti with 'Star Trek' cooler version from MSI for quite a few years.
I think the HD 7790 performs slightly better than the GTX 650 TI because it's GCN 2.0 rather than 1.0. Ordinarily Nvidia GPUs perform better in GTA V at the same performance-tier. Seeing the performance of this, it's interesting how much stronger the BOOST version of the card is. And all it had is more ROPs, an overclock, and more memory bandwidth. Shows how important those are and not just core count.
I remember playing at high settings (all 3 sliders to max and textures on high, and high quality flying or something like that on) at 1440x900 at around 50fps with my old GTS450 + fx4100 + 2x4gb ram. so this gpu should be able of doing it too.. crank these up 😅 Games optimized like this are only a myth right now 😢
I had a GTX 650 Ti Boost once, it was a very pleasant experience using it. Then I switched to AMD cards and used them for a few years. But only after switching back to the green side with RTX 3060 I realized how much I craved going back to an Nvidia GPU.
Bro my 2nd gtx 750 ti just died today ( first one died already) which was paired with fx 4300 ( yeah it's old I know ) but still I am just replying paste and it died 😢
GTA 6 wouldn't even boot on this GPU, no DX12 support. By the time GTA 6 hits PC GPU's from 2018 will already be very old. This GPU was only 2,5 years old when GTA V released on PC. Crazy to think RTX 3070 and 3080 will be 5 years old by the time GTA 6 releases
I still use this gpu in my pc, which is sad, but I mean it can get by with a lot of games with the lowest settings available. So for a card from 2012 it isn't terrible.
The fact that it even runs at 4k is amazing. Let's hope Rockstar does a good job modernizing their game engine (RAGE) for GTA 6. And they do a good job implementing FSR and DLSS so weaker GPUs can run it ok (iGPU?). Though RDR2 did not have great FSR and DLSS iirc. It is kind of weird looking back- when GTA V first came out for PC it was rather hard to run. Did they optimize it at some point? GTA 4 is still rather difficult to get smooth frame-times even with a high end system today.
I’d like to see Tomb Raider Remastered on the minimum requirements considering it is a newly released title that requires a GT730. This 650ti should handle that great.

750ti by far! It's only a little bit faster but way more power efficient. We're talking 110W vs 35-40W while gaming which is insane! The 750Ti also supports the latest drivers, even 10 years after it released. Crazy :)
Hyeee can you please do the benchmark tests of RTX Quadro and RTX 6000 Ada or A6000 sort of workstation gpus. I want to see the results that are they suitable for gaming loads.❤️
odd that even though GTX650ti is not much slower than 7790, it struggles much more at 4K Normal. I wonder if the 2009 HD5870 can do 4K, as TechPowerUp says it is better than RX550 and 7790. That would be actually insane considering it is 15 years old.
I got amd hd 5870 even these day gta 5 with amd hdd 5870 will be bad beacuse of vram you need 2 gb so if you get 2gb amd hd 5870 that rare than will you get above 30 fps
I have an issue in gta 5. On the mission where you steal a minisub for the Merryweather heist after the minisub falls to the water, as soon i jump and hit the water it crashes. I've tried lowering my fps, lowering the graphics settings, or even reset my pc still the same
This game doesnt even stutter at all when just slighty running out of vram. I used to have gtx 1050 2gb laptop until early 2021 and i never experience stuttering problem in any game i play, even if i often exceed vram capacity. I dont get it why most of newer games become inmediately unplaylable just by slighty running out of vram
Hello Kryzzp,nice video as always. hey, i just got myself an rx 6700 xt with an i5 12600k. i've just viewed your rx 6700 xt gta v video and it seemed like you had 100% usage on the gpu. By any chance, do you know what could possibly be wrong with my system because i only got 120 fps on average, 70-80% gpu usage, and 30% on cpu in 1080p. I also have heavy stutters on games like msfs, minecraft every 2 seconds. Thank you!
Beast combo minecraft is not optimized if you get oc motherbord overclock it i dunno about gta 5 if you pass the 180 fps it will be so statery beasuce of engine limit fps but still good

I see it, must be the capture card I used. It was the older one because of the DVI port on the card. Good eye though! Even I was having a hard time spotting it after you pointed it out hahaha
Hey man, I was planning on upgrading my pc( i3 4150, Gtx750ti) to i7 4790. I was planning on paring it with a gtx 1660s. But I'm not too sure if it's gonna be a perfect match or not. Can you give me some ideas?
@@zWORMzGaming well I want you to test it cuz it really worth it for the price and nobody tests gpu's as well as you do, plus amd gpu's get better almost every driver update so it's pretty worth it ( side note I own a 7800xt that's why I want u to test it )

Yeah, even I was confused... It's because I saw "Asus DC2" on the back or something like that and I supposed it was a 2GB. hey krizzp i got a question. So I Have a moderately new pc here are the specs: I5 10400f 1660 super oc 1x16gb 2666mhz h410 m h 550w 80plus psu. 1080p monitor Im looking to upgrade to a 3060ti. I have found a cheap one in my country for about 220euro. The problem is on a bottleneck calculator it says i will have a little bit of a bottleneck. And I see in benchmarks in some games it doesnt utilize the gpu. will i be fine with this one or will i have a bottleneck and get a different gpu?
1x16 gb is bad beacuse is single channel buy 2x16 dual chanel makes much diffrent buy rtx 3060 ti if you want but its got 8 gb of vram is kind of bad in newer titels buy some rx 5700 xt or 3060 both have 12 gb and its sligly slower than 3060 ti❤more if you enter bios enable xmp that will boost the peformance 2666mhz is one of the slowest ddr4 ram buy some 3200mhz that will make diffrence

The 650 Ti's fault, RU-vid's fault, or is my 2 month old Acer monitor already dying? edit: Also, $149 US in 2012 is the equivalent of $200 today, thanks to inflation. Definitely an under-served price point these last 2 years...
well, the gpu is from october, 2012 and gta V is a game from 2013, pc version came early 2015 though, so why wouldnt run? i bet in 2035 people will test gtx 1050 Ti (2016 gpu) in 2015 games (hello, gta?) but with title like this: how does it run in 2035 haha...
People forget about these, I'm here reminding them that they can run these old games with old and forgotten hardware just fine. No need to go buy a new card for this :)
not related to the video but i recently bought a 6600xt to upgrade from my 1660 super and every games i play is lock at 90 FPS even though i've checked everything(vsync off, monitor is running at the correct refresh rate, no FPS cap in adrenalin) does someone know how to fix this? ty very much

@@mhpross1234 is the gtx 745 a gtx 750 but with ddr3 ram ? Saw few listings on my area with those gpu and the sellers were saying they are with ddr3 memory.Memory varies from 2 to 4gb ddr3 .
GTA5 uses only 4 threads so your CPU should be stronger than 6th or 7th gen intel desktop CPU at single thread performance to get 100 fps that's not easy for laptop CPU
