Man this GPU was an absolute monstrosity when it came out....I had a GIGABYTE GTX 680 with 2GB of VRAM and I enjoyed the heck out of it for a while back in the day!
I remember I didnt enjoy my GTX 770 with only 768 Mb ram due to stuttering in CoD Black ops if I remember correctly. Might have been the combo with the 1055t though. I traded that computer for an iPad 2 six months later. Best trade I have ever done because that iPad lived and was used for 10 years!
@@OlaJustinYeah, iPad 2 was such a great piece of tech that Apple themselves hated it, because no one wanted to upgrade to newer models until they stopped supporting the 2nd in terms of firmware. 😂 They will never make this "mistake" again...
I used a 770 (same gpu) for quite a while! Was a good card, finally sold it to upgrade to an rx480 a few years back and then went straight to the 1080ti I'm using now
1 view 37 likes, RU-vid functions pretty well. Glad that you've tested the GTX 680! Could you try the RX 570 4GB variant, or perhaps the RX 6600 non-XT?
@@zWORMzGaminghey, i got a gtx 1650 and it was perforrming good i fortnite pm, but now it started droping fps more, i used to get 80 in most intensive parts with a full view now i get 50s :(
please dont express 11 years as a long time :( Now I feel old. My first ever dedicated 3D graphics card was an elephant 3DFX card beside my Ati which had extra ram sockets on it. I loved the "Click" when you started a supported game.
Hi there, been watching your channel since around 2020 ish, love it :) I was thinking (as a video idea) to compare the RTX 3060 12GB to the later released 8GB variant? Perhaps see what difference it actually makes for a price to performance ratio.
Is insane to see that GTA V is running on literally anything those days, I remember back in the day I struggled run that game with my laptop, it had a gt 920m and i3 5005u
As both an GTX680 and GTX690 owner, I was sooooo impressed with their performance back in the day and to see their performance still today for many titles😱🤯🥰👍💪💪! Great video Kryzzp and Bri gs back soooo many gaming memories for me 🤩😱🫠🤤.
I had the Leadtek 4gb version which I bought in early 2013 and paid $600 aud. This was the best gpu I'd ever had to that time and wow what a beast it was back then. I ended up replacing it in early 2017 with the 1060 6gb.
The GTA 5 Performance is really impressive. I really Like, that you getting also many old GPU's and reviewing these and giving alot of information about these GPU's.
@@judaswick Remember that now people play gta online or fivem. So it will decrease the fps by a few / a lot depending on the other parts spec & mods on fivem server
@@HapPawhere yeah thats also true, but what i want to say that how good the optimization in this Game for this GPU is. Thats just insane. it runs better than on my old 980 ti at the time. But now i a have an RX6750xt
from 2011 to 2015 I love these legendary DirectCU2 cooler design that is so beefy from Asus, what a beast. Rivalling MSI's TwinFrozr "silver, futuristic" looking cooler and Gigabyte's military themed Windforce.
i have a gtx 645 on 2024 and a intel pentium 3.30ghz on my pc and everything runs well ( on lowest configs obviously) but it runs everything i want to play
I had the EVGA blower variant with 4GB's of VRAM. I paired it with a i7 3770K Ivy Bridge. It was good till 2016. I them moved to to a Strix GTX 1080ti. I got my money's worth on that platform. Rocking a R9 5950x and RTX 4090 now. Love it very much. This was a great video that took me down memory lane. Thank you Kryzzp! I loved the video.
Can you make review on the rx 6700xt & 6800xt at 1440p, I'm thinking of building a PC this summer and I would love to see a video of them. Much Love man.❤
Man you got the big 3 slot version. Now that was a big ghungus. I owned the Gigabyte GTX 680 Super Overclock besides it being big, it had 5 fans , I think 40mm, it was loud as hell.
500 and 600 series and their model names are still haunting me to this day. Asus gtx 660 directCU TOP OC edition extreme ultra wow. Alo a minor addition can be made on gpu benchmarks. As i am also playing gta online sometimes the FPS in singleplayer and online with full lobbies can vary a lot. Maybe you can add add it as an extra layer to gta v benchmark.
Hey man, I was wondering if you could test GTX 660 again in 2023 because the GTX 750ti performed better than the previous video, so I was wondering if GTX 660 has improved or not. It would be wonderful!
Why do I like these old & dirt cheap GPUS?! Probably because I'm a broke gamer, lol. Anyways, I enjoy your videos. Hmm... you deserve a new subscriber!
@@zWORMzGaming I knew you haven't tested 620 which is same as 430 iirc and no kepler version was released but I forgot about 660ti because of not popular as 660(only 6pin) and 670(almost same price) rip 660 btw 😭
That little fiasco you had with FSR 2 in Hogwarts Legacy. I know that feel. There should be a clearer warning about that. The 680 still has some life left for those older games it can launch. I think it was the last 80 series Nvidia GPU that has power consumption below 200 watts. Pretty efficient! That monster cooler would've been more appropriate for the GTX 780. Amazing temps!
I had an overclocked 670 which was almost as quick as a 680. That was an absolute beast. Kept me going for many years. Outside of the 9800pro probably the best card I ever had.
Never owned the 680 but I did have a 690 once it became cheap and since SLI didn’t work in all games it basically was a fancy 680 in non SLI games. When SLI worked it was pretty powerful even when I got it when it was already at the end of being supported.
kryzzp, voce tem a 960m de notebook? voce é o unico cara que faz benchmarks tentando adaptar os jogos para rodarem, os outros canais tentam rodar os jogos novos em 1080p e o jogo ficam lá a 10fps
It still bugs me that there's never been a GTX 990 or 1090. But considering how overpriced Nvidia tends to make there cards, I'm not sure if I'd want that anymore
something that i know about far cry is that it is more cpu intensive, cpu does most of the calculation and it doesnt rely as much on the gpu as much as other games. the dunia engine LOVES high core clocks, this is where older gpus would probably flourish, good sh!t
You shot an interesting video. My old computer is Zotac GTX 680 with an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, but I do not use this computer, it just lies there.
This is why I love pc over console. The future proof aspect is much higher than a console life span. This 11 year old card is running next gen games at impressive frame rates. Fucking insane
Oh pls test Battlefield 3 or 4 with this videocard. This was my dream gpu when those games came out, but i had only a radeon hd 5670 in those times.🥲 Nice vid by the way as always 👍
0:15 "feel OLD"? HAH! My first x86/64 3D Accelerator(YUP! What we called 'em back in the days) was the 3dfx Voodoo²(12MB) in '98! 11 years? Pfffth! Mere seconds to me 😛 Do have a blowerstyle EVGA GTX680 4gigs Still alive 😲 PS Kingdom Come? RE 4 are you trying to play the NON RT DX11 version?
5:11 yes, but actually no, the 4080 is able to handle 4K and give HIGH REFRESH RATE EXPERIANCE at the moment, but the 680 was not when released, so the 4080 will give us good gaming experiance for longer time. Not only that, I personally dont believe that 1080p gaming is gonna take 16gb vram anytime soon and the card just wont die unless it will itself be too weak to handle games
DONT GET KEPLER or below(700/600 series) second hand gpu unless only for collection, minimum please get maxwell card 900-series or 10- series, could consider 1060 6G since there a ton of these mining card and super cheap if u wanna risk it, the next best card is 1660/s/ti or 3060 which also mostly 90%+ are mining card second hand
Can anybody explain, why Sons of the Forest is so inconsistent with the FPS? Because sometimes i get mid 80s and sometimes for no reason, it stucks at 30. Settings just make minor differences and DLSS doesn’t make any difference. And i have a 5800x3d paired with a RTX 4070ti, so the hardware isn’t the problem i reckon. With that in mind, even the mid 80 fps appear to be very low. Would be nice if someone could help
i've recently realize dthat the 680 can run some modern games decently well due to it being close in performance to a GTX 1050 which isn't even bad if you wanna do light end gaming also let me realize that every GPU always represents a last one! an example is GTX 1050 > GTX 960 > GTX 770 > GTX 680 These are all very close to each other in performance and idk I just found it cool :) this doesnt apply to all cards as the 3050 is far off from the 2060 regardless really cool video! make these benchmarks always fun to watch :)
The 1050 was pretty damn shit, even when it released. Starting at around $150-160 in EU, while the ti was I think 180-190 bucks. When you compared it to a 1060 3GB both 1050s were horrible value, only good if you had a very low wattage PSU or needed a low profile card, which would cost you even more on top of it. 1060 3GB, which VRAM never mattered for it tbh, started at around 220 bucks, the 6GB model being around 280 at the time. It's not that the 1050 couldn't or still can't play games, it's the fact that it's was horrible value for the money and no one should've bought one, other than for those reasons mentioned earlier. If you didn't have a 6pin or just a crappy PSU in general you could easily run a 1050 and some 1050 tis still, but they were nonetheless bad value. Nice observation though.
@@JustSomeDinosaurPerson yeah you’re right lmao I got mistaken, even tested after the video and my goofy ass was wrong lol The other seems close in performance more than both 1050’s it seems as the 1050 is just lacking behind the 960, 770, and 680 Id im honest i never feel as if the 50 cards are always accurate in my dumb thoughts lol Cause i notice the 60 is always close to the 70/ti versions classes of the previous gen and the 70’s are around the 80/ti’s of its previous gen But the 50 cards never seem to stick with anything from its last gen haha (im lookin at the 3050 here)
@@MilkLusion The X050 class has been in a flip floppy place for a long time now. The 1050 was a joke as far as price to perf and was very quickly obsoleted for a lot of games. The 1050 Ti offered better price to perf and lasted a big longer, but even then it wasn't really stellar and way behind the 1060 6 GB in terms of good value. Then they didn't bother making a 2050 because it wasn't worthwhile to put raytracing onto a low end card at the time. The 1650 was another joke as far as price to performance, but surprisingly the 1650 Super was pretty good insofar as its lowest price around its release time (often went for $150 USD), which was pretty stellar at the time. The 3050 would actually be decent if not for the both the launch price being a massive leap for the X050 cards in general, but the actual retail prices having been waaaaaay above MSRP at the time.
@@JustSomeDinosaurPerson i dont think they can ever put the 50 class in a right place for performance I think my terrible logic cause what i said about the 50 class being close to 60, 60 class being close to 70 etc woulda worked imo Just put at a better price too And yeah 1650S is pre good better than a 1060 performance wise most the time, tho low vram but yk thats the 50 class lol
Man absolutely trashing the 680, meanwhile, I'm watching this on a 650 equivalent. I'll never forgive Nvidia for promising dx 12 FL 11.2 on Kepler cards and not delivering even a little bit. AMD did a much better job with the cards of this gen and they perform much better in newer games as a result.
I played and finished Spiderman Remastered on my GTX 750ti (amazing game) and NO, there were absolutely NO texture issues. Only with this 600s generation. Now i know for a FACT that sometimes you talk about things that you don't know.
That was a awesome gpu of its time and even not to bad for 2024 for some games. I still have my ASUS GTX 680 2 gig and it is still working 100% after 12 year of service.
those were times when high-end GPUs ware great, didn't cost crazy many and you could run Crysis on max settings with them. Now you see the price of 4090 and you must think how great and cheap it was back then 💸
29:50 Why you dont test this old gpus at 900p resolution in scenarious when at 1080p perfomance is in around 30fps range , it can save a day for this old gpus and it looks way way better than 720p , btw 19 inch 900p monitor is not very bad in turms of ppi , so it could be the option for low spec gamers
one thing you can't do with gtx 680 is using a 4k monitor i know it will be supported but windows will lag since 680 has only 2gb vram and 4k monitors require too much vram even on running windows.
me seeing low settings in videos: That looks fine. me when playing games my self: Lets just crank everything up at 1440p and then complain when its not running as perfectly fine as it should.
hey man, could u make a video(if haven't yet) on how to display all those monitoring resources ? if you have already, please get me the link, msi afterburner doesn't work for me :(
oh yeah she will play all the shit just need to tame expectations on certain things and understand that you are limited on vram. i love building pcs from old cheap parts and seeing how much i can get out of them
for those game like forza 5 that not working in their new update, u can just install the previous version of the game and play it just fine so its not that much of a problem
