They are checking for life jackets. You have to have life jackets in a canoe or raft because they are considered vessels. But you don't have to have the life jackets if your in a tube because they are not considered a vessel.
The Gubbermint takes the fun out of everything. Been down that river in Canoes, Tubes, Rafts.... You name it a 100 times or more. Half of that time drunker than Cooter Brown. Never had an issue. As long as you didnt get out of the river and tress pass on somebody's land, You were FREE to enjoy the river how you liked. Freedom seems to be in short supply these days, And it seems like the Gubbermint has taken over Public lands to enrich themselves with fines and fees.
LOL, they're not looking for alcohol. You can drink while tubing the Guadalupe. They're probably looking for glass and Styrofoam, which aren't allowed. Trust me, the tourists love to trash up our beautiful river. The rest of us can enjoy a nice beverage, though! 😎
they stopped us and wrote a ticket for not having life preservers because we were in a inflatable raft. Had we been in a tube we would have been legal.
Never seen police in a river. I suppose that means no beer floating down the river? Count me out. I don’t want to be patrolled on my way down the river, all respect intended, but leave me alone, that’s half the fun. Usually have a sober driver. Just saying. Leave me alone. Period. Let me have fun.
As a post 9/11 american younust be patrolled until we find our freedoms that are still held captive in either Iraq or Afghanistan. I desperately hope they did not smuggle it to Iran or Syria like they did the weapons of mass destruction. Once we find our freedoms in the middle east then we can safely transport them back to the mainland and live the good life! And how bout that covid vaccine!! Good job phizer, sign me up!!!
