@@Armadurapersonalyou know, I've read a lot about first vs. second focal plane scopes(all 4 of my scopes, 3 of which are LPVOs, are FFP), and for the life of me I just don't understand why someone would want a SFP over a FFP, at least for a "fighting" or self defense rifle like an AR(which all of mine are on.) Especially when they've got BDCs in them.
That's actually why I think wood stocks are more tactical. If your rifle looks like an "aSsALt WePeN (TM)" then everyone panics. If it looks like a hunting rifle, much less panic, draws less attention, lower profile
What?!! I don’t understand your comment, though it’s hard to pay attention around all these guns I just bought after watching To be honest you’re soooo right. And they know it… it’s just that NBC won’t let Glock have commercial time…

Always loved the lever actions. They do have downsides as defensive rifles- nowadays expensive, ammunition limited in variety and availability, and limited loadings.
@@Fulcrum205 I’m envious. In my neck of the woods wheelgun ammo just isn’t as plentiful unless you specifically order it when possible. 30-30 on the shelf is hit and miss. I remember a time when there was always at least a half dozen offerings in the various rimmed calibers consistently in stock in any gun store or sporting goods outlets.
@frankb4517 yeah me too. It certainly isn't as common as it used to be. I'm spoiled though. I live 2 miles from a Bass Pro. I can can get 357 and 44 mag at Walmart. They usually have the Hornady Leverevolution and some kind of defense load in 44mag. In 356 they usually have Winchester White Box 158 SWC and some kind of critical defense type load.
For anyone wondering what this is, it's a Marlin 336 (or a copy of one, like the Henry Lever-X) chambered in .30-30 Winchester. The stock, shell holders, and probably the handguard too, are Ranger Point M-LOK's. Scope mount is a Spuhr QDP-4046. EOTech scope, not sure of the exact model, possibly a Vudu 1-10x28 FFP.
@@happy30311 Maybe it was available pre-made as a complete rifle at one time, but all the parts needed to turn a regular Marlin 336 or clone into this rifle are still available. Similar parts are also available from multiple other manufacturers as well.
@@robertogarcia824 A Marlin 336 usually goes for around $1200 new. The Henry Lever-X is around $1000 new. Or you can get a completely different base gun - parts are available for most of the popular lever-action models. You'll probably spend a couple hundred total for all the parts except for the scope.
I agree. I have found that Excelling with a gun involves not only having one which is mechanically superior but also one that I feel I have physical command over. I have a better time firing the mini-14 and ruger 10/22 than I do any AR despite the AR being the better firearm from an engineering standpoint. I want to try lever because I suspect I’ll have the same luck given how much I enjoyed my daisy lever pellet gun as a kid.
I'm a pacifist and I fully agree that all of the Lord's beings have the right to defend their lives using whatever they choose. This just happens to be a very nice weapon to use.
... nice, unloads 10 rounds in 1.4 seconds, almost a full 5 seconds faster than the AR15... the armalite 15's semiautomatic feature means it moves the bolt using the recoil chambers the next round and then a spring pushes tbe bolt forwards again, taking 0.62 seconds... wheras a lever action will work as fast as you can move the lever, the record for which is .14 seconds (this record was set and later tied, based on the criteria of firing and hitting a target with 10 rounds) Its important to note the AR15 is NOT an automatic weapon, and is far safer than these lever actions, as the gun and ammo can be easily stored seperately, and in a time of need, the magazine can be quickly slotted and the gun is ready, greatly reducing "accidents" from guns stored loaded ^_^ The left pretends they fail to understand this, and preach that the AR15 is comparable a "M" type, like the M16, or the M4a1... that LOOK similar, but operate far differently. AR15 fires 1 bullet per trigger pull... the M16 and M4 are MILITARY issued weapons, and fire bullets as long as the trigger is held, using a rotating bolt, vastly different from a semiautomatics spring piston bolt.
@@kevinsears7300 dude what? I'm anti-gun but this was just a light-hearted comment on the engineering and aesthetic of this rifle. Where did your screed on The Left come from?..
@@GT-ub5vubut how did the cowboys manage these then?? Edit; okay thanks everyone I am now informed bolt action is better and obviously I know they didn’t have ARs and AKs back then I’m not an idiot lol I just liked the idea after watching the last of us ☠️
Modernized/Skeletonized Marlin lever action rifle. Did a little research(this gun looks an awful lot like a Marlin), essentially used for large game hunting, like deer, bears, etc. Yes, it is definitely the sexiest gun. The original Marling is sexy too, but this is like seeing a Victorian Era woman put on a club dress.
@@tigercow he worded it wrong, but being a good shooter helps being the best you, it teaches you to embrace mistakes and learn from them, learn patience, and with the gun community getting bigger and bigger you can find people who can teach you things to be the best you, don't look at things 2 dimensionally, look at the things they can and could bring to your personal experience
@@freshaziisfreshaziis5064 I prefer 30-30. Anything withing 250 yards my nickel plated model 1894 winchester 30-30 with the fold up "sniper sight" and saddle ring. is my go to. I probably shouldn't be hunting with such a collectors piece anymore. But it's been through every man in my family so it has to carry on filling freezers.
@@freshaziisfreshaziis5064 in my opinion nothing beats the top eject action of the old 1894 winchester. Henry are nice but I don't like the actions as much. And 30-30's shoots just as far and a lot easier on your shoulder.
The .30-30 has been around for a long time and it remains a favorite because of it's excellent range, penetration, and accuracy. I shot a .30-30 Winchester for years. Love it !
@@ellismidkiff6117 True it's not a great LONG RANGE (900 +YDS) round, but it's an EXCELLENT MID RANGE (650 + YDS) ROUND. It has persistently proven to be excellent at stopping large game at middle distances, and at those ranges, it's got a delivery like a brick through a plate glass window.
@@BornOfAsh You mean BESIDES the fact that it's a completely different cartridge? They have different shoulder height, different weight, length, and diameter bullets, different powder charge, and different velocities
@@roberttaylor9817yes there is different ammunition, both r lever action, almost identical in appearance and bullet/shell size. I was more looking for "Qualitative" differences for example: the 35 shoots less distance, slower, but would take down bigger animal etc. Or r they so similar it's negligible as pertaining to target shooting or hunting. I know 3030 is easier to find ammo for and will take down a deer, not sure about bear or elk etc.
@williampeter6593 no reason not to have both... machete for when you're getting rushed... this would be used to clear a path... don't limit yourself to "the best weapon"... think "the best gear"
That's the mirage of the bullet displacing air as it travels. Long distance shooters use it to spot their rounds. Basically it's the same effect you see when you come over a long and hot road over a hill. The bullet is displacing the air as it travels, some shooters call it vapor trail, some just call it the bullet mirage. I use it often in high power matches to spot my rounds before they are called down on the line. It gives you an approximate location of the hit. I have seen better shooters be able to call the exact bullet impact with it following it with their spotting scope.

@@Philostipherthe first market available lever action was available in the late 1830s to mid 1840s and was likely produced by Colt. You’re the one who doesn’t know what you’re talking about, since that is indeed “almost 200 years old.”
I got two. Of the oldies. 30-30 lever action. One of them is pretty rare. Top eject. Scope has to mount pretty much on the side of the rifle cuz spent casings come out the top, never pick your head up as you feed another round or you’ll get popped right in the forehead with it lmao
I had an old 30-30 that was lever action and miss it so much. Replaced by a 270 bolt action but i still take it out from time to time. Beautiful rifle.
@@shadowmc7164 I'd rather a .270. It's simply a 30-06 necked down to fire a smaller projectile. It's a little faster and flatter shooting that a 30-06. Both great cartridges tho !!!
It's actually a Rossi 95 M-LOK. The build is with Ranger Point Precision furniture. Not 100% on everything else but I'm working on trying to replicate it pretty closely because it is a beautiful piece
Winchester's are usually top ejected. The one I have is and the majority people still own are. Biggest con is having a side scope, but it's great with iron sights only. My first deer rifle. It was my grandfather's. I need to look up the model.
@@bubba200874426o practical purpose for just about any full length rifle besides hunting… you’ll never use an MCX or an AR in a defense situation like so many think they will. your EDC sidearm is overwhelmingly likely the only firearm you’ll ever have to use in self defense and the chances of that ever happening are slim to none. if your rifle is comfortable and fun to shoot at a range and beautiful to you, it’s practical enough. a lot of people post videos of night ops builds and shit like that and my first thought is “wow, that piece of paper will never see them coming”
