@FCB_Tomiwa Just because they Pacific Islanders, doesn't mean it's theirs. We're not a monolith. Theres no such thing as a Pan Pacific or Pan Poly Culture. Each Island has its own unique culture. In this case, these are a bunch of Islanders from Hawai'i doing a war dance that has nothing to do with their country/state. It's all just for show.
@FCB_Tomiwa Because this clip is from a Deestroying video during his visit in Hawai'i. The haka they are doing is the Kahuku High School one. No one in NZ does this.
At tangi (funerals) it's a different feeling behind it absolutely. It's our last goodbye to our whanau (family) our call for our ancestors to call them home, welcome them, keep them safe and know we will meet again one day soon. It's very emotional. Even with tears in our eyes we will toutoko our loved one.
