The more you truly know The Lord through studying His precious, infallible Word and praying to Him, the more answers to questions become clear as day. WWJD. God bless you all! 🤍
But it also matters what we expose our children to; like what movies we allow them to watch or not watch .. allowing them to go out and trick or treat ; they WILL see scary , evil and grotesque costumes you can’t shield them from that. .. I really think it causes more confusion when they are younger ; my kids can dress up at home and I can buy them candy ..they don’t need to go to a strangers house to get it … I really think it would strengthen each Christian community if more and more God - fearing families would link arms and say yes we have the same morals and values and yes ,we will say no to participating in Halloween and etc .. I could go on more ; but maybe take time and really, I mean really pray and ask God if you and your family should be participating in Halloween anymore.
This is such a tough subject; my husband and I came from very different backgrounds and opinions on this. I asked the Lord to change my heart on this if needed and I finally reached the place where I'm comfortable with my kids dressing up in things that aren't vile or evil and we certainly speak very clearly to them about how other people view Halloween and why others put up things celebrating death. But thank you for giving a VERY balanced presentation on this subject!
I love watching your potcast and really appreciate the wisdom you impart through it. I do have a big struggle with Halloween, and it mainly comes from considering the root of the celebration and the what and why we are celebrating it. The what and the why we celebrate Christmas and Ester are great reasons, and the same applies to birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc. Every time God gave Israel a festivity, it was so that they would remember something important. So, I think your reasoning in this video was great, but the aspect I just mentioned was overlooked.
True but many holidays root in pagan roots. We feel that our culture really just celebrates evil during Halloween and we just can't redeem that. We choose to be a light in the darkness during this time!
@@FoundationWorldview Thanks! ^_^ (Didn't Elizabeth say in a webinar that she's not going to write any books? Well, I'm thankful for this turn of events). Also, is it going to have an e-book version? I get that screen time is bad, but I don't think it would give dopamine, hinder the development of the prefontal cortex or cause isolation more than a physical book & delivery can be expensive when living further away...
Hey, I find your content super useful so thanks for that. I have one question though, I'm in a mixed marriage (my wife is not a Christian). I'm just wondering if you had any content that would specifically address that? When me and my wife think differently on a specific subject, how should we approach our (future) children in that way? If my wife says something that clearly violates scripture, how can I convince my kids otherwise? I appreciate that is a big question but would really value your take on it. Many thanks
We do have an episode of the podcast that addresses raising kids with an unbelieving spouse: foundationworldview.com/blog/raising-kids-with-an-unbelieving-spouse Hope this is helpful!
