Probably because MANY of the riffs and melodies are totally rehashed from In Flames. It’s kind of silly to be honest lol 😆 like how does Jesper not remember writing this shit twice??! 🤦‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

Was Jesper struggling then? I love his playing and his tone, but he looks like he was having a hard time with playing. I'm a guitar player and when I watch his hands, it doesn't look right. I really hope he can deal with his issues, I have nothing but love for the guy.

@@MrJingles021 jesper has an anxiety disorder that he used to drown in alcohol. I was the same way for a very long time so I can tell you my observation - he's extremely uncomfortable playing live because he's a nervous wreck. He stated this much in an interview last month. As someone who used to live like that, I can tell you that thoughts of self doubt and anxiety are terrifying, it's like your body is always in a flight or fight response. I wouldn't read too much into what you see, he said he's working through it with professional help and I believe it because i've been there and he's saying all the right stuff about progress

Holy the gain on Peter's bass is crazy, its so thick during the solos. I always heard and saw in the forums his gain was a big part of the In Flames tone, and now I get it

He uses different techniques and mics for live performances and this makes his sound more dry, raspier. Its amazing tho.

On the one hand you have In Flames with brand new members and on the other hand you have veterans from IF and DT. I feel more passion in this first album than in latest IF attempts and trust me I used to love them!

The drums are miced. The guitar cabinets aren't miced but could be run through loadboxes to prevent the sound from bleeding into the vocal mic. As they all have in ear monitoring.
