@@TeddyBaldassarre I’m originally from Cleveland but live in Dayton currently . Next time I come to visit family I want to pay a visit to the store . Where is it ??? Thanks ( go browns)
I own the 42mm Murph, the most versatile watch in my collection.I am wearing it as I am typing this comment. the watch is Simple , no complication , low key but beautiful. I wish Hamilton could release it with an anti-reflective coating; that's my only issue with it. In my humble opinion, the white would look great with black numerals (it looks kinda hard to read)
Given how long it takes Hamilton to make any changes I rhink it’s just a coincidence. Otherwise, there’d be a timeline on when the bracelet itself would be available.
I got the 38 Murph when my daughter was born. I cant watch the end without crying and I hope she loves it one day. I don’t understand how it can be the Murph and have the white dial. Though I guess the 38 isn’t really the Murph either…
To be honest, I would prefer the older variant. It has the aesthetic of a vintage watch. The white dial in combination with beige numerals results in fairly decent readability.😮
Hi Teddy. Great video on a killer watch. A few of the macro shots show the watch with extremely low amplitude. Might want to give it a bit more of a wind, as it just looks cooler. 😊
The bracelet on the black dial looks great, but I'm really not feeling the white dial, the lume color clashes too much and at least in the video makes the numbers a bit too hard to read.
I really like the new black with bracelet, but a watch like this feels like it needs to be as close to the film as possible. Any word on if the regular Khaki Field Auto 38 Bracelet would fit snugly into the case if the 38 Murph?
The white dial looks amazing as well! I think I’m still going for the black dial on a strap when I do eventually get the Murph 38 just cause it’s so iconic, but the white dial version is highly tempting.
I sincerely hope that these additions to the line will eventually extend to the 42mm version as well. The Murph looks equally awesome on black leather, beige canvas, and bracelet IMHO. Bravo Hamilton👏👏and congratulations TB crew for being the first to carry these heaters.😎👍👌
Teddy had an extra espresso before shooting this vid. He is amped up about these releases. Like the white dial but love but love my blue dial Pilot Pioneer more.
I was about to pull the trigger on the bracelet number but remembered I have a black dial Submariner which [absent the bezel] seems pretty similar in appearance. I guess it's the white one for me!
If a watch is going to be useful for me, it has to have a date window, because I use it every day at work. That being said, I'd love to be able to add a 42mm Murph to my collection. My preferred watches are all at least 41mm in diameter - that's just what feels the most comfortable for me, so the 38mm Murphs aren't for me, but it's great, that Hamilton is extending the Murph "family". The texture on the white dial looks great. I wouldn't mind if something similar was available with black watch dials in general.
I'm very close to pull the plug on the Murph 38, only thing that would beat it for me in versatility would be a 36-38mm Tissot Gentleman... Unfortunately that does not seem to be in the cards.
Teddy, Thanks for the video. I love your perspectives and dedication resulting in such quality videos. Please don't get me wrong, I love Hamilton watches. I own a Khaki Field Officer and two vintage Hamiltons that I purchased non-working and brought back from the dead (it is a hobby). However, I have a hard time with the pricing on new Hamiltons (not to mention Rolex, Omega, etc.), even with the heritage, etc. I know that many of your other fans will call for my head, but I recently purchased a Tandorio diver. It looks so much like the Khaki it is probably an homage (but I don't think it is marketed that way). It has the NH35A workhorse movement and comes in many different dial selections. The best thing was it was only $45.00 (yes, not a typo). I still love Hamilton and will continue to look for them (a Ventura mechanical is on my bucket list) but I like this other so much I just had to comment. To answer any questions, no, I do not work for them, am not associated with them in any way, nor am I getting any promotion or recompense for naming them. I just truly love that watch and thought I would share for those who like the Khaki but possibly can't afford one. Keep up the great work! I look forward to your videos.
This is such a great watch. It has the specs, it looks good, and for a luxury watch it’s in a very attainable price range. IMO this is a one and done watch.
They gave the Khaki Field Bronze the same treatment with the white dial; I have the original bronze with the black dial but might add the white dial version to my collection as I reallly like it. However, I don't think the white dial suits the Murph in this case, and I have some doubts about the legibility. On the other hand, I do like the black Murph with a bracelet, though...
Question on the Black bracelet style. On the Hamilton website it indicates “Set on a black dial, the Khaki Field Murph's numerals are slightly domed, offering improved legibility, while the cathedral shaped hands give a vintage look to the timepiece”. Is this a change from the previous 38 mm Murph? I recently returned it due to what I considered to be poor legibility. I spoke to Hamilton just now and they indicated it was improved but to be honest the rep was just reading off the website also.
I like it but you can get a khaki field automatic 38mm with a bracelet on the grey market for around 500-550, so around 400 less than this with the same specs. I'd argue the date and white non-patina-ed numerals make it look more appropriate on a bracelet than the murph
I got a khaki mechanical…I put a colareb leather strap on it and sha-wing…it works great and wears wonderfully…I want to get a Murph, well, just because 😎
Have you compared its new bracelet with Uncle Straps Senator? It looks similar, but I wonder if it has shorter links for a better fit on a smaller wrists (6-6.5").
If this gets one more update I would buy the hell out of it. All I want Hamilton to a is add a fixed metal GMT bezel. Then this would compete with the seiko alpinist and the Rolex explorer GMT.
For anyone in Canada who owns the 38mm Murph on the original leather strap, you can email Swatch Group customer service and order the bracelet separately.
is there OEM deployment buckle for the/that would fit original 42 Murph? btw beautiful watches…I would go for 42, but I would like OEM deployment buckle and eventualy OEM bracelet also…
I love the white dial, I would buy it immediately. Now, I don't understand why Hamilton always does the same thing: put bracelets on some and not on others. It should do like other brands that think more about the customer: these are the dial colors, all available on leather strap or bracelet, as the customer chooses.
Hello! I hope you're doing well. I want to start by apologizing for my ignorance in the question I'm about to ask. I've always liked watches, ever since I was a kid I would watch videos hoping to one day buy one. Now, I finally have the funds to do so. I like two models, the Tissot Gentleman and the Longines Conquest 2023 (L3.830.4.92.6). I like the Longines much more, but it also costs twice as much. My question is: Is the movement and specifications of the Longines significantly better than the Tissot to justify the higher price? Or is it more about the brand and design, and the price difference doesn't reflect as much in these aspects?
I was thinking about getting Murph 42 for quite some time. Until I saw it in person and tried it on my wrist in a shop. I changed my mind very quickly because the dial is completely flat and it looks super cheap and boring to me. Maybe applied indices would bring it to life a bit and make it more appealing.
For the price I think I would prefer a Hanhart, could even get a chronograph at that price point. I still love Hamilton field watches but I never really cared for the Murph when Hanhart is a better option.
Classic Hamilton, offering the bracelet for only one colour and not all variants like other previous models... 🤔 This has literally prevented me from buying there watches so far since I can't never get my desired combo
I'm curious if other people feel the same way, but I'm not a fan of how much Hamilton leans on movies to market their watches. Something about it feels kind of tacky to me, but I may be the only one. I like this watch, but I'm not a huge fan of Interstellar, which in a way makes me less interested in the watch. Probably just a me problem!
Get the Hanhart Preventor HD12. Far better watch for a similar price. . Screw down Crown Better WR. Scratch resistant case. Decent leather straps. Blue or black dial. Anti Reflective Treatment.
