I have this exact watch and the reflection has never been an issue. The titanium stamp isn't noticeable. The thing that bothers me is what they did to the 3 to put the date box. It's shoved aside and just is messy. Did I pay $1k for it? No way. It's more like $600 new. The watch is very accurate so it's a good beater watch.
@@knowyourhistory H70565133, it's full titanium but honestly there are real poor aesthetic design choices from making it good and plenty of other watches on the market that are better.
I have the H-10 version of this since 2017, I love it crystal, Titanium and especially the power reserve!! Never a issue with legibility, day or nite. The Alpinist!!! 👍👍
Hello from france! I have owned this model with ETA2824 movment, and currently have the new one with H10 movment, 80 hours of power reserve. The accuracy is very good, a few seconds by day. I changed the strap to a more comfortable one, the HIRSCH Robby , in resistant full-grain Italian calfskin, with a perforated sailcloth visual on a core in premium blue rubber. So great! (70 euros in France).
Ooooo. I got the khaki from when Hamilton was making their comeback. It’s the T2 model. Has an ETA movement. Not sure which with sapphire back case. Robust movement, I use it for golf but the again I use my gmt master2, explorer2 and IWC for golf as well. Was well into watches, now into knives...and they get used too
The current version of this watch is using the ETA C07.111 with a plastic escapement, as supposed to the C07.611 with a regular escapement. Both are derivatives of the 2824-2. That will not matter in terms of accuracy now, but we will see in a couple decades... Just thought that might be interesting to some.
PLS HELP, found the perfect watch for me in the Citizen Field watch and got into watches. Is there a way out; or should I just resign myself to this fate?
I really love the regular steel 42mm khaki automatic. Although it is slightly annoying, I like the reflectivity of it, and practically I never really have a problem reading it. On mine, the 15 on the 24H dial aligns with the rest of the numbers, and they just put the date window over where the 3 usually goes, so it ends up looking a lot cleaner than this one. The leather strap is super comfy, and the 70+ hour power reserve is great. My only complaints are that the lume is pretty weak and the crown is thick and digs into my hand when I flex my wrist. On your model it looks like the crown is a lot slimmer which seems nice.
The updated version of this one is much, much better. AR coating, no date wheel, H-10 80 hr PR movement, etc. I have the gray dial variant of the new one and it's a stud of a watch that gets a ton of wrist time from me. If you like blacked out style of this particular one they have a new Khaki Field King in 40mm that might suit your taste without the titanium billboarding.

I like field watches a lot, and Hamilton, but the 15 [23] 3 on this is killing me
For $1000, I'd go Weiss. Granted not titanium, but not so crazy on dial. I'm a huge fan of field watches of this style. My cheap choices would be glycine vintage combat 6 for $300, citizen makes a nice quartz for about $140, or timex expedition for $45.
On the whole I like this watch, but as you say there are other watches to be had which are as good if not better and less expensive,, and did you say it was titanium, well even that wouldn't sway me to buy one , but I enjoyed the review keep up the good work, stay safe.
HUh. I have the newer version and rather like mine -- maybe 'cause I didn't pay anywhere near $1G for it (more like around $500). I find it keeps good time (runs about 5-6 sec fast/day) and the size fits my wrist. Mine has a normal leather band.
A Grand for that Hammy!!!?????!!! I've got the Khaki King with the H64455533 and paid $369.00 back in the day. Now it goes for $422 and its a great looking watch for the price. The Seiko SARB017 Alpinist goes for $464 and its been discontinued which will make it a rare time piece! Do your homework before pulling the trigger folks. Just my dos centavos.
I have this exact same watch, and in daily wear haven’t really had an issue with the reflection off the crystal. I do tend to wear it with long sleeve dress shirts though, so it’s much less noticeable. Otherwise, yeah I agree. I hate that stupid TITANIUM billboarding and wish it was gone.
made a fieldwatch, in wich legibility is the most important thing and ad a crystal, that made see the dial impossible and call it a day. just get a Seiko SNZG15 and invest 900$ you saved for other great watches
Maybe it’s just me, but I believe he’s wearing a Batman mask during this review. I don’t know if that matters to anyone. But it’s probably something to note before excepting any dinner invites.
Good review and valid criticisms. My King version of this doesn’t seem as blinding on the crystal, but its lume is pathetic. In contrast, one of my other favorites by Borealis (Portus Cale) lights up a dark room when fully-charged and stays strong for quite a while. I really do like the Khaki and its conservative overall feel-but admittedly, it also brings along those glaring flaws.
Really like Hamilton watches, I could never find one in a size I like tho. I prefer around 48-50mm for the face. My similar watch to this is the Glycine F-104. Similar Flieger style watch.
Hey Nick, I followed your sage advice and never got into watches. Thank you! That said, get back to revenge knives-you know, the things that actually brought you to the dance?
If you like everything else about it, don't let it be a deterrent. None of my watches have AR coatings and it's just something you get used to. It's really not that bad on the Khaki either because the crystal is curved. I owned the Khaki for a while and it's the only watch I've ever regretted selling.
@Nick Shabazz I've got just an honest question here, looking for your input or any other viewers input. Should I get a Hamilton H70575733 (updated version) or an MTM HYPERTEC-X (Field Watch: Solid 316L Stainless Steel case) with Chinese parts, assembly, and lack of know-how in the USA MTM service department? What are your honest thoughts on the matter?
