Well I am glad I watched. So you were right in encouraging me to al least watch the last ep. Just like I thought we lost nick and Luke BLA. I do think the way the actors are being put in certain positions will be the individual's to be involved in the take down of Gipliad (I am hoping anyways) I know this will not make me very popular but I like Sarema now. It feels like she now has some of an understanding of others. The death of Janine almost has too happen in order to completely open Aunt Lydia's eyes and bring her to help bring Giliad down from with-in. Someone asked if June loved Nick or Luke, I say both. June is trauma connected to Nick and loves Luke as Hanna's father she is conflicted and it shows. Having a trauma bond with someone is not easy and can feel like actual love. Could someone help me out , there is a person who is asking me what ep it was that Mr. Putnam lost his arm and the part his wife played but I cant recall it does anyone happen to know the ep and season? I believe it was the ep called bridge. Thanks everyone and I guess it will be a year or more before we are all back together.
I'm asking why didn't Moira and Reita go in train with June since All refuge did and planning to go out of Canada and they already knew this information?!
@@ibrahimbasioni8897 Because it was not one of the refugee haters it was set up by Commander Lawrence. June should have never said what she said to Lawrence that is why he is after her now. That is why Nick had the reaction to Lawrence at the wedding. Riya and Moriah are not in immediate danger again it wasn't the refuge haters that did this it was ALL set up by Commander Lawrence.
I don't think they will kill Janine-they don't kill handmaidens right? Maybe Janine ends up in new Bethlehem. I've been hoping Janine gets her daughter and escapes. I don;t think Lawrence had anything to do with the attempt on June's life; I don't think he knew about it. If he's mad at June it's because she won't come to New Bethlehem in my opinion.
@@bonnieinsure9707 While I value your opinion on this you are incorrect. Lawrence did know about it and yes he did set the attack up, that is why Nick boxed his chops during the wedding. It would make sense that Janine gets killed that is what is going to set this whole thing off with Aunt Lydia. This is in my opinion the only direction they can go to get Auntie Lydia to see them for what they are and turn good guy and bring them down. June and Serena will be a part of that falling. But yes Commander Lawrence had this all set up to get back at June for her comment about his wife and how and why she died. Re watch the ep you will see what I'm sating to be true . :)
This has been my most favorite episode out of all the seasons tbh. This brings so much character development for every character. Aunt Lydia has finally reached a turning point where she realizes things need to change. You can see the pain on her face after she was pushed because she realized she didn’t have as much power as she thought she did. She is most definitely turning against gilead. This is also my favorite turning point for Janine as well, she is also starting to realize that there is no sense in pretending, she has to survive, she has no choice but to rebel as much as she can, no matter what she does it means death. I truly hope Janine doesn’t die but if I’m being honest I think Janine has to in order to cause a chain of events. As well as, for all the seasons Luke has not been doing much, I’ve enjoyed his character but could always feel he could do more, finally in this episode he has finally stepped up and he can go through some character development in order to save June and Nicole. As for Nick I’m finally greatful I get to see some emotion from this guy, I’ve really hated him all season just because he seemed so cold and distant, and I was starting to lose hope for him, but now I see he is finally getting his head in the game, he’s got to do something. Lawrence is a tricky one, I think deep down he knows it is wrong, that is why he cried with June on the phone, but honestly I think he’s angry. He’s angry with everyone and wants to punish everyone and that is why he won’t step down or change. He is becoming power hungry because he is grieving and making himself feel good. And finally June and Serena. This duo has been my absolute favorite all season. I’ve loved them together. I think deep down Serena is exactly like June, in the sense they both have equal desires and needs to protect their loved ones and their own rights, i absolutely love them as a power duo and really look forward to seeing how everything plays out, this whole episode was absolutely phenomenal, emotional, and everything that the past seasons have been. I’m so excited for the next season. Sad I have to wait so long tho
I agree with all you said but I think from Nick’s part he tried to be distance because he respected June’s decisions. He fulfilled her every need.. But he always thought he’s not important part in her life. She only get married when June reunited with Luke. He truly loved June more than Luke. Because he always ignore his feelings and what he wants for June. He always want June’s to be happy and give what she wants even though he knew he’s not part of it. So finally he tried to move on because June finally with her family. So when he got married he wanted to be faithful to his wife and be a good husband. But with his feelings for June he couldn’t do it. Because whenever June calls him he goes, he helped to killed her tormentor and whatever he did he did everything for best interest.. He thought he’s not an important part of her life but actually for June He was someone very special. I cried during this episode, starting form Nick’s meeting the Mark and where Luke give himself to the Police and then smile when Seriena Met June and asked for a Dipper..
I like Nic there's just something about him he's quite & the quiet ones you gotta watch I'm that way. I'll tolerate so much but don't push me past my limits. Aunt Lydia is changing I hope for the better I'm still not that impressed with Luke even though he's stepping up a bit but June is way stronger. I'm terrified we'll lose Jenenne I don't wanna think about it & as for Lawrence I can't really read him I'm not sure if he's bad or good. I'm nervous about the shift in June & Serena's relationship I still don't quite trust her but I'm hopeful.
June wasn’t attacked by a random disgruntled Canadian. She was deliberately targeted by Gilead. It was made to look like she was the target of a hate crime. That was the whole point of the conversation between Nick and Lawrence.
I watched it so early this morning but I think even Tuello said that he had ties to Gillead and than he was there in little scenes in the past couple of episodes stalking her but it was so quick I know I missed it . I swear to god if they kill nick off I’m sueing lmfao
It seems to me that now Commander Lawrence's true face is starting to show. For a long time we all have been wondering if he was a good guy or bad guy ,well I think we now have that answer. June must have REALLY hit a nerve and whatever "goodness" he might have had is now all gone by by.
Okay but when Elizabeth moss directs , it's so beautiful. That one episode with all the handmaid's running , and the fade out song by Radiohead playing , was a masterpiece . And this episode was directed by her too . Beautiful
Everyone just exploded… June told Lawrence she watched his wife died, she gave up the chance together with Hanna. Jannie told Naomi she hate her so much, thus she lost her chance to be with her Angela; And Nick just punched Lawrence on his face in front of other commendars, he ruined his chance to be powerful in Gilead.Everyone just fucked up everything on the border where they almost there. But meanwhile their humanity is coming back, which has taken away by Gilead for a long time
As much as I loved seeing Nick finally stand up for June, why he had to do it IN THE MIDDLE OF LAWRENCE'S WEDDING (thus blowing his cover) is beyond me. Like you couldn't wait till after or pulled him aside to break his jaw? I love Nick but the dude has THE WORST timing in the world.
Nick had saw enough to make him snap in season 5. In season 1 he was Fred's driver and an eye in the house. It was Serina that had him to get June pregnant. Then in season 3 when Serina and Fred went to Canada he saw a picture of June, Luke and Hannah. Nick was shocked to see the picture that Luke was holding up. Nick was the one who gave Luke the letters June had found which he and Moira put on website in Canada that caused the Canadian government to make them leave. It was Nick who first exposed Giliad in season 3 with the letters from the woman who was robbed from THIER lives when Giliad was formed
Punching Lawrence at his wedding draws serious attention to Lawrence as well. The commanders are going to wonder why. Puts Lawrence in a sort of checkmate situation. We got another year or so before season 6.
@RS By Nick punching Commander Lawrence and had the other Commanders wondering why Nick punched him. They are going to figure it out and want to know the truth.
June's yellow, collared, button-down blouse in the beginning of the episode resembles Serena's uniform in the detainment center, symbolizing that June is a prisoner in Canada, othered by being hated as an American refugee, and unsafe.
It was good to see a look of encouragement on Janines face when the Martha told her about what happened to June in Canada. Then when Janine said, "My June?", as if that gave her the courage to stand against Ms. Putnam. I am hoping she ends up in New Bethlehem from the back of that truck, but who knows?
Janine, sadly, is going on the wall. It's the one thing that will bring Lydia to the point of no return, so that she works secretly to undermine Gilead and bring it down, as she does in The Testaments
I want the best outcome for Janine she’s so sweet she’s one of my favs 🥹 hopefully she can survive whatever they’re about to put her through and she can reunite with Angela
Things might not go well for Janine after what she did, but I’m so proud of her for standing up for herself. I’m hoping for the best for her and Luke. It was a great episode and I can’t want for the last season.
Absolutely. Something in her psyche awakened when the martha told her about June. And I'm here for it. I do also think Janine and maybe Nick will be our martyrs and that makes me sad 😞
Why was she taken by The EYES though? Just because she said to Naomi that she hates her.. She cannot be put on the wall just for that.. Also, why would Lawrence order it? It doesn't make any sense
The use of law and legal consequences has been the weakest element of world building this season. Luke’s situation is the latest example- why would they arrest him for homicide when they ended up not charging for assault or attempted homicide before the driver died? It would’ve made more sense had they done something along the lines of his being on house arrest upon returning home.
I thought this exact thing. It was obviously in defense of June, June was going to be killed if he didn't stop the driver, he disarmed him with sufficient force and then stopped to help her. If the police did their investigation appropriately, it should have been fine. But I think I recall someone saying the the police are sick of the refugees as well so they are going to side with the Canadian "victim".
Even self defense has to be proven in court. I don't think he has to go to jail for defending his wife from a hit, and hit, and attempted third hit, as long as the guy is alive, unless someone presses charges. However, as soon as he dies the government can arrest Luke without anyone else pressing charges. Even if what he did can be protected by law, he still has to go to court to prove he's not guilty "beyond a reasonable doubt" of murder, manslaughter or whatever else they choose to charge him with (I would assume. Maybe someone can clarify Canadian law when it comes to killing another person who was actively trying to kill a family member).
I thought his execution was implied. His wife wanting to leave him when there’s not divorce in Gilead meant to me she would ask her father to have him killed.
I feel like Lawrence had Janine "arrested" so he can secretly send her to New Bethlehem . Aunt Lydia will think she was killed and bring down the house, I feel like her character is going to play a major part next season
I think Lawrence has no intention in bringing the world he created down. He's too thirsty for power and heartless. He is the man of interest. I completely dislike him. Everything he does has to benefit him. How is that helping others? He started harassing June.
@@ioanaandreeatudose5459 I don’t know if I fully agree with that. He is playing the part right now which is what he HAS to do in order to gain credibility. I do believe he will help in bringing down Giliead. It will just take time.
@@ioanaandreeatudose5459 I don't agree. He thinks his "changes" are how he keeps his promise to Eleanor. He sees the religious nuts he used to create Gilead as depraved nut jobs. He knows the depravity Gilead has committed is wrong and evil and is what drove his wife to commit suicide. I don't think he has any interest in continuing to help June, and sees loss of people in his quest to stay in power (so he can make these changes) as collateral damage. Is that any better? Maybe not. However, people actively in power pushing to continue in the same direction are definitely not good.
The part of seeing Serina on the train shocked me. At the Fertility Center she finally woke up and thought about what June told her at the detention center. Also coming to her scenes when Mark walked her out of the detention center before she went to the Giliad house. Mark warned her she won't be a free woman with her baby if she kept her Giliad contact. Mark offered her refugee status for her and her baby. Serina end up realized that Commander Lawrence flipped on her. I believe Commander Lawrence is going back on his promises in using those for outside Giliad to open doors for his ideas. I believe he's turning on Aunt Lydia. It wasn't long that he used June . Nick end up finding out and saw right threw Commander Lawrence. Mora and Rita should of went with June. I understand June had issues with Serina. June should team up with Serina to bring down Giliad
You got that right. Now that Lawrence realizes that June is not going to promote the new world OR make Gilead the victim, he is going to punish her. He also thinks (in my opinion) that if he can use Nick and everything else, he is doing to pull June back. I too believe that Sarena and June will become friends and work together to bring down Gilad. I also think Aunt Lydia is going to be the hero in completely running everything. That is why I truly believe that yes, they will kill Janine, that is going to be the straw that broke the camel's back with Aunt Lydia. I also think that at some point Mrs. Putnam will be involved remember she is pissed that they killed her husband and she is NOT happy having to remarry anyone just to keep her daughter. I think the wives of all commanders are starting to see their fate if anything happens to the husbands. They thought they would be safe just like Sarena thought if a husband dies or gets killed, why they thought there would be a difference in Widower or unmarried individual they now know from watching serenas fight that they are just as prone to Gilads laws and rules. Or just the fact that they are waking up to what G truly is about and it is defiantly a man's world. LOL, I hear that song in my head. "It's a man's man man's world By Bettey Jean Newsome and James Brown LOL.
@Treva Lowery Janie did told Aunt Lydia she didn't want a new post. The new wife of Commander Lawrence saw her husband killed. We will see Commanders Wives or some might be killed just because they refused to remarry after the death of the late husband.
I was hoping Moira and Rita went with her on the train too. I hope them not going doesn't mean that they will just be forgotten about for the most part in the next season and that maybe something will happen with them to keep them part of the story
@@rosita3528 right, because what reason do they have to stay in that climate? Maybe since they weren't in danger, they stayed behind to tie up loose ends with the house then will follow. :)
Ooh good point! I had forgotten about Tuello's offer to Serena. I bet she went back to him and took the offer, getting refugee status and getting on the train. In a previous season (don't remember which), Tuello had tried to entice her with the idea of going to Hawaii and getting fertility treatment. So this would be a natural follow-up on that suggestion! Would be cool if they filmed part of next year in Hawaii!
Like when Mrs. Putnam or whatever said to Janine, it’s nice to see a friendly familiar face. That’s what I thought about when June and Serena’s eyes met, they felt relieved for that exact reason. Made me laugh because of their crazy history 😅
I love the show but I truly DISLIKE the long close up shots. Add those shots up in one episode and you could replace them with meaningful dialogue or actions that push the plot forward.
I'm with you on that. Sometimes I fast forward through all that incredibly boring slowness. I know some of these people's faces WAY too intimately by now. The finale left me wanting more story and less atmosphere. I've forgiven them all the holes in their logic and fast-tracked redemption arcs. I just wish they valued my time a bit more.
@@natsomething0 The last episode is the best time to give more story and less atmosphere. It would have been a great opportunity to show they valued their viewers. I also fast forward.
@@maritgirl1 I hope that with next season being the last that they don’t do that for the sake of how much time it takes up. They could at least close June’s mouth 😂
I just see it as a part of Handmaid's Tale. I know it's their thing and people don't like it. If they were going to stop they already would have. Maybe someone should make a video of nothing but those close ups and add dialogue. I would watch that just for giggles.
Madeline Brewer (Janine) has been great throughout the series, and it's a bit lost because there are so many great performances by the others one can forget. I hope she's nominated this year. Plus, I am already sucked into cheering for a June Serena friendship (Jurena) LOL but it still feels illogical. I'm a sap LOL Love the series. wow.
They always worked great together leading me to think each time Serena was heading for a redemption arc only for her to reverse course and become evil again. But I think this time it will happen lol.
I audibly gasped at least 5 different times. Such an incredible episode! I’m sooo nervous for Luke and Janine! I love the ending scene so much and was actually emotional. When Serena said “Hi June” I was crying. I hated Serena, but now I’m excited to see their new dynamic of being on the run together. 2 strong female leads. Hell yes
I love Serena. Always have. June does, too. She realizes, that while not the same, Serena was also a victim of an evil husband. Hope they tear Gilead apart.
Sometimes I hate that June is always safe and also why did she have to tell Lawrence about his wife? I mean, what's the point to have more enemies than allies?
@@komikbookgeek maybe so…Naomi is tricky though she all but insisted Putnam get his arm cut off after he was breaking the rules with Janine. Lawrence breaks the rules a lot.
@@valr1260 I don't think that was her being tricky that was her asking for the harsh as possible punishment to try to keep her husband in line which didn't work. Meanwhile you have Serena who is just continuously been a thorn in the leadership of Gilead's side partly because she helped build it.
Greatest of all time series. All the key players ready to take Gilead down at the end. I can't wait until next season but sad it will be the end. It was a fantastic finale.
I absolutely loved this episode. So bummed I have to wait until next year to see what happens next. I am going to start at the beginning and watch one episode a week, so I am prepared for the final season. 😢
Why did Janine destroy her chance to be together with her daughter? That was one of her goals all the time. Ugh... I found the whole season very slow, with a lot of fillers (like June and Luke sneaking into Gilead...). I hoped for more action, like bombings, rioting handmaids, terror attacks...
I think that Janine is about to become June-like. The way she held the Martha’s hand and she didn’t panic or even blink. Perhaps she is about to do big things WITH Lydia!
It made me realize how it could be even more traumatic to be around your daughter everyday with that witch breathing down her neck.. calling her Ofjoseph was a huge PTSD trigger.. and threatening Janine to have her tongue CUT OUT if she so much as implies being the child’s mother in any way. You can only suppress so much. I hope Mrs Putman/Lawrence gets a real taste of her own medicine
Yeah, it was odd how Putnam spoke to Janine-so happy to see a familiar face and excited to show her her room, like she had made it special for her. And Janine was in a posting where she could be with her daughter and not have to do the ceremony. Why would she snap like that? Lol, fo the plot of course.
I am mad that granola ginger square Luke has a hero moment and doesn’t get to shine. I think when June was attacked, she was going to talk the neighbors about why they were moving. Maybe she was thinking of leaving before she told Luke they had to leave. I don’t understand why Moira and Rita stayed since it’s dangerous for all foreigners. Janine, really? She should have played dumb, won their trust and waited for the right time to escape with HER daughter. I think Janine’s tongue is getting cut out since she was threatened with that. Aunt Lydia has been feeling herself a way too much for her position. I wonder if she will seek more power or be good and help people escape.
I don’t understand why Nick would act like that if he’s supposed to be helping the Americans. I don’t think they will kill Janine, someone said they think she’s going to New Bethlehem and that makes more sense. I’m a bit disappointed that Moira and Rita weren’t on the train. 🤔 and that Luke and June are again being separated. It seems repetitive. Also, everyone would know what June looks like since she’s the face of the movement.
When Luke says to June that he wants to protect his wife and June says "I don't need your protection." June has been protecting herself since she & Hannah were taken. It shows how good June is at it. When Luke &June are captured & June tells Luke "Don't fight them!" Gilead & No Man's Land will give you a slow, painful death🌕 🌗 🌗 🌘 🌑 😫
I hate how Nick was always playing the cool and composed guy even through scripted tense almost-caught situations but for the season finale, he's suddenly pussywhipped enough to slap the groom at his own wedding.
I wouldn't be surprised if Serena and Tuello ended up together. I saw how he looked at her the very first moment they met and afterwards... She needs a good and decent man like him, despite of what she has done in Gilead
I had seen chemistry and thought they were going to go somewhere with that. Maybe even claim they did have something and that was their baby and not her husbands. I was surprised that nothing happened
I can't believe that a manhunt for Serena wasn't started, after Serena took off with what the Wheelers considered their baby! And that baby is not Fred's, it is Tuellos, Serena had a moment of weakness when Fred was trying to throw her under the bus, and there have been moments this season that subtlety suggest that their relationship is more than professional
Great season and In fact it’s my best ending. If the producers were smarter, they would have released season 6 to buy because a lot of people will pay a premium to see what happens next. Sadly if they release it after a few months a lot of people would forget and probably wait until it’s free on Amazon
June orders a kevlar vest. Yet she sits with her back to the window, and then walks in the middle of the street. She did the same thing when she was in Chicago, instead of walking on the sidewalk close to the buildings to keep out of sight. And then ran in the same direction as the bomber jets were flying. Ya I know.
Could see some very interesting alliances in Season 6. I hope this final season has a satisfactory conclusion. Nothing worse than investing emotionally longterm to be left disappointed.
I MUST know what happens with Emily! I miss her bravery so much, they gotta bring her back, even if only for closure next season. Or did they write her off the show in SVU fashion (remember Stabler’s exit)? Speaking of closure, yea…Esther. And where was Moira, did she stay in Canada? Is Commander Lawrence officially THE bad guy or still duplicitous? Poor Nicky-poo. I have so many questions.
Emily actress left the show, which also altered much of the Moira and Rita storyline. The show producer left it so she can return if she chooses, though it may not be likely. Esther actress had spinal surgery so maybe we'll see more of her next season. I'm still unsure about Lawrence. I think he's been playing too close to the sun and feels like he has to take some people out to keep himself from being taken out. Mackenzie has gotten way too close, I suspect many of the bad things that have happened were at his command, and maybe Lawrence has allowed it to keep his neck off the chopping block.
McKenzie is behind June's attempted murder. He doesn't trust Nick anyway after he saw him and Tuello talking and now, well after Nicks behaviour with Lawrence and what he said, well by now he must know who Nick was referring to. Even if Joseph tries to smooth it over I very much doubt that McKenzie will allow Nick to live. A series 6 without some sort of happy ending that includes Nick is unthinkable
I really hope this means the end of Luke in June's life so she is free to get back with Nick whom she really belongs with!! Afterall he is free of Rose now as well... fingers crossed
Serena has had moments of sense with June several times i.e. when Fred was hurt and her and June worked together and when Serena asked June to get Nicole out. Serena will betray June again if an opportunity presents itself that protects her baby while giving her a chance at power that she innately craves.
Serena will never be powerful enough in Gillead because she's a woman, and she knows that very well. Since the beginning, when she was cut off of the decision-making process even before the creation of Gillead. There's nothing there for her She was always miserable in Gillead, propably that's way sometimes she was so cruel, she wanted to prove herself that still had power by exercing it on others who were completely powerless. If she betrays June, she will betray Gillead as well
I'm guessing Nick's wife is paralyzed. We always see her sitting down. As for Serena, Yvonne is nailing it this season. I was hoping they would put her through the emotional ringer so she would understand what June went through. And June, what can I say, I'm growing tired of her need to be with Luke when he does NOTHING!
Normal people: "okay, waiting for s6!" Me at 5 in the morning: "would she give her a diaper? Would she give her a diaper? WOULD SHE GIVE HER A DIAPER?!?!?!?!?!?!"
First, to the generous lady who has helped me landing on ground, you know that it’s impossible to leave until the loop is over, you will ascend into the air, descend under earth, then the whole thing comes back again, then me, then another woman, you taught me, now I narrate it to you. I feel very anxious when I watch the whole season 5, every second, every minute. It’s not about any of the cast or laborious background workers, I didn’t know that, I know that now, every one of them is so tired. June is a joke, yeah, she really has something with Janine, she has real empathy towards women, not just her own kind, she did that to the female gender, she has two children, she helped a lot of children escape their almost projectile life, in her life there were two men who treated her genuinely in that miserable atmosphere which barely counted as life, nonetheless, she is a joke, she is maimed, raped, hurt, her mentality has been constantly crippled by chimpanzee-like men, except laugh and stand there is little she could do. Human has been stuck in this time point, for the history I know, 2000 years. The change isn’t 100 years after, isn’t when Trump dead or women in Middle East could finally leave their burka in garbage, the change just needs one day, men don’t treat women as cow anymore. My dad had power when he wasn’t retired, maybe that made him a commander. I didn’t understand those women, they came to him looking for their own freedom, neither I could understand it now, nor I understand their pain, their pains only deserve to be listened by someone who has similar miseries. At least I learned one thing, the freedom every one of them trying to get from that man, my mom’s sperm donor, has given me something more that I could paw my own freedom, the possibility behind being a cow. If I was June who has to confront that a person she loves, the man is waiting his children with another one, someone who has invested different but also so same kind of intimacy to a man as June did, now the love crystallizes into another being, I don’t know, maybe agony And to the one thousand bottomless fuckers who has been enjoying this soap..
I hope June and Serena team up .. I think they will meet up with Nick and then eventually aunt Lydia after she saves Jeannine. I am SO proud of her for finally speaking up and not remaining all sweet and always staying in line... you will always get punished in Gilead no matter what you do or how you act. Everyone has their limits. I'm so happy Nick and Rose are done . She wasn't a good match for him and he Loves June too much.. I do like Luke but I think their marriage will never work out as long as Nick is still in the picture.. I can't wait for the next season!!! Omg its gonna be awesome!!! 🥳 until then ill be looking forward to the new season of YOU on netflix! Starts in FEB. I miss you Joe!! Lol 🥰😉😆
I dont wanna wait one more year to see the final season. I just finished watching this last chapter. I got so anxious. I don't know how many chapters from the sixth season have been recorded but I don't wanna wait...I cannot. Can you?
Janie getting to escape for that year or so seems more like more torture in her life. Like she was so close to being out and she got brought back into this stuff. I feel so bad for her. I hated the train scene when June sees Serena. First off in a world where there are so few babies no one would notice the two women with babies standing in front of them and not give their seat. Did everyone turn into aholes in this show. And second Serena shouldn’t get a redemption. Also why is aunt Lydia getting a redemption it’s almost like she is a completely different character from the first three seasons. I do really like the show and I’m excited for next season!
All that Janine has been through killing her would hurt us all as viewers. I want to see Serena punished 🤷🏽♀️ and June can keep the baby 😂 I would like to see aunt Lydia lose her mind
lol, aunt Lydia's problem was that she had already lost her mind before Gilead started. Maybe now that her blinders are off she can start to slowly get rid of her brainwashing so she can change her life.
After 5 seasons it's hard to see this show as a serious drama. The unique style, which was effectively engaging in the beginning, by now is nothing but a gimmick which makes the show almost a parody of it's former self. The slow-motion effects, long stares, extreme close-ups, mise-en-scene, it's all kitsch melodrama and seems to hide the fact that the credibility factor is at an alltime low. I have low expectations season 6 will restore it's original quality.
I couldn’t help but be furious to see Serena on the train. After all her horrible behavior she gets to escape while Luke was taken into custody for protecting his wife.
End the end Serena did accept treason and coconuts Tuello offered her the day they met. I am the only one who ships Mark with Serena? I really hope it’s not the last we will see from her, she just must do more to deserve her happy ending.
Her getting treated like a Handmaid in a house where she was supposed to be a guest and her realizing that was just **chef's kiss** She'll never be forgiven EVER but I hope she now rejects the things she and her husband helped create, how being reduced to nothing but a baby maker shouldn't happen to any woman ever
@@cv8499 I hope she doesn't go on a 180 again in season 6 like what her desire to get nichole "back" did to her She doesn't even have anywhere to go now at this point so hopefully she's very well aware now, maybe past very well aware even
@@lightdarkequivalent7143 I hope you’re right. I was very hopeful around that time when she was working with June and she almost was convinced to go against Giliad. Now though I think we’ll for sure see her say a big F U to Gilliad with the help of June.
@@lucylemke6998 She looked exasperated at first. I think they both have some relief just because even though they were enemies, they know each other so aren't all alone.
Aunt Lydia is the key to bringing the whole house down from within. Just look at the scenes where she spoke for commander Lawrence. Even he took council from her.
Luke’s character development over the last few episodes has been incredible. Even before leaving he was overly optimistic and ignoring past patterns. He finally did what needed to be done
What an incredible bitter-sweet ending to one of the best seasons yet. When Luke and June had to part at the train station it was heartbreaking but I didn't cry until June saw Serena on the train. I truly loved this season the most. I can't wait to see where this journey ends for everyone!
It's amazing how June continues to influence the Handmaids. Gilead can't kill her if they wanted to. They'd have to kill what she stands for. That's why Commander Lawrence wanted her place in New Bethlehem to be one, where her legend is neutralized.
Since when do women get to walk away from husbands in that hellscape? Like would Rose seriously be able to dump Nick when she is pregnant with his child? Loved the episode, that's the only part that made me raise my eyebrows. I'm also scared that the train will be diverted to New Bethlehem. Maybe that's what Serena's captors were up to.
Rose's dad is a High Commander, with that level of rank and power it shouldn't be difficult to frame Nick as a bad person. Nick hit Lawrence in front of witnesses and they can always link Nick back to June. She's got options, unlike other wives.
@@Meyouandthe3bums tuello was saying something about them going to catch a boat. Guess the train will take them far enough west to catch a boat the rest of the way.
What an awesome finale, could definitely see Lydia is on the verge of snapping and seeing Serena come in at the end left me with my jaw dropped! I can't wait a year, I love this series too much, it is too good!!!
Hey yes ! Now that you mention it, it makes perfect sense ! Maybe it was Serena who suggested the idea to Mark to make June take this train ! And Mark, I think, has a crush on her and helped her get on that train.
I am thinking that after Serena escaped the fertility ctr., flagging down that driver, she asked to be taken to where she could talk to Tuello. Tuello then arranged for her to be on that train to get to Hawaii. He offered that (Hawaii) to her way back when she visited Canada while still in Gilead w/Fred- which she refused. I think that is how she is on the train with her son, Noah.
But he is a good man...I think she is stupid to break up with him. He is a great husband to her and a good man. Also there is a child in the picture. It's Gilead, the do not marry by love
@@enonz761 but... she CANNOT break up with him, according to Gilead is "til death do us part" so idk how thats gonna work, what is she gonna do? Sell him out? Then the whole claim on Nichole being the waterfods and therefore Gilead is down the drain. She can't divorce him, I think she was just speaking in the moment.
@@edvaniafernandes5384 have you been watching? Do you really think they'll kill a commander because his wife is annoyed? They can't pin him on June, then the whole Nichole being the Waterfords is plotless, Gilead wouldn't risk that.
